Christmas Trees

Red and Green tree good

This is a holiday card done with the Mover and Shaper die.  First we adhered Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper to our 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Then we ran it through the Big Shot using the tree centered on the Mover and Shaper die.  We adhered the tree right through the tree opening like a puzzle piece.  Then we cut 2 additional trees – 1 Cherry Cobbler and 1 Always Artichoke – on the tree die and added tiny bows.  Finally, we sprayed the card with the Shimmer Paint spray we made with the paint and alcohol.  It is difficult to see the shimmer in the picture.

Red trees best

We also repeated the same card using a different pattern of the Deck the Halls paper.  Here, we die but both trees out of Cherry Cobbler.  The trees can be mixed and can even be decorated with Stickles or Smooch to add decoration.  The cards are much more striking than the pictures suggest,

This Mover and Shaper card is another sample of the 6 cards we will be making at our Holiday Frenzy Stamp Camp on November 5th and 6th.  Don’t forget to let me know if you will be coming!

I’m off to help get the house ready for our Halloween Open House.  To you and  yours, I offer a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

More Christmas

Angel best

Angelic Joy is one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets.  The clear set is $12.95 which I consider very reasonable for a larger image and 3 messages.  I contemplated adding the verbiage “Oh, tidings of comfort and joy” on the card, but adding anything would have taken away from the beauty and simplicity.  The colors used are Bashful Blue, Marina Mist and a light touch of So Saffron for the angel’s hair.  I used the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder, Oval Scallop Frame die, a few rhinestones and Dazzling Diamond fine glitter on the wings and halo.  This is one of the cards we will be making at our Holiday Frenzy Stamp Camp on November 5th and 6th.  Don’t forget to let me know when you will be coming.

Stay tuned for another holiday card in the next day or two.  Happy Stamping!

A Little More Christmas…

Little Girl best GREETING CARD KIDS

Isn’t this holiday card just too cute!  I must admit that I CASd this from Gretchen Barron with just minor changes.  The color scheme is Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Garden Green and the beautiful colors shown in the Candy Cane Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I am so in love with the cute little kids in the Greeting Card Kids stamp set. ($15.95, Page 36).   They are so much fun to color. I added color to this little girl with a combination of Stampin’ Write Markers, classic ink pad, Stampin’ Pastels and a Blender Pen, adding some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to the trim of the coat and hat.  I highlighted the ornaments with Smooch Accent Ink.  I cut the scallop frame with the scallop border punch, but it was very difficult to form the scallop circles on the corners.  So…I ordered the Scallop Squares Duo from the Holiday Mini Catalog ($21.95) and it will arrive in 4 days!  We will use the larger one from the Scallop Squares Duo Bigz Die. Finishing touches for this card include some 5/8″ Real Red Satin Ribbon and a glimmer brad.  This is one of the cards we will be making at our Nov 5th and 6th Holiday Frenzy Workshop.  Don’t forget to let me know if you are coming.

Christmas Card Fun

I had a pleasant surprise today.  I had pulled into the parking lot for my knee rehab and who should appear walking across the parking lot but my daughter.  I was really surprised!  She stayed with me during my rehab appointment and it really made the time fly as I went through my exercises.  Thank you, Debbie!!!!

Ornament better

Debbie had planned on coming over today to work on Christmas cards.  This is one of her designs that we will be doing for our November Holiday Frenzy Stamp Camp on November 5th and 6th.  This simple but elegant Cherry Cobbler card uses the Elegant Bouquet embossing folder ($7,95, page 214) and the ornament punch ($16.95, page 202).  Debbie stamped the ornament with the Tags til Christmas stamp ($22.95 Holiday mini) prior to punching.  She added a bit of Cherry Cobbler seam binding as ribbon, and several pearls.  The ornament is hung with a tiny piece of gold cording.  Finally, red Stickles were added in the center of the flowers.  This is an easy card but it’s simplicity has a quiet elegance about it.  Wow!  I must be in an “elegant” mood as I have used that work several times!  The materials used for this card can be used time and time again.  The embossed image can be dressed up or down.  We have used the ornament punch not only for ornaments, but also as fish (picture it sideways with fins added) and as many vases (picture the bottom point cut off and stems of flowers shooting out the top).  The punched ornament can also be embossed as we showed in the September 12th pink and white Christmas card post.

While I think of it, we will be starting the Holiday Frenzy Stamp Camp a bit earlier as we will be doing 6 cards.  Now don’t panic!  These are NOT difficult cards.  But I also don’t want you to hurry to complete your packet.  In addition, I know there is lots to do this time of year, so starting earlier should help your day!  So…

Friday – November 5 – we will be prepared for stamper at 3 PM.

Saturday – November 6 – we will be prepared to start at 8 AM (ugh – I will be walking around with an IV drip of coffee to get me moving),

We will have a great time.  We will have Christmas cookies and carols will be playing.  If my holiday singing bothers you, you can tell me to be quiet!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you will be coming for the Holiday Frenzy Stamp Camp, and which day you will be coming.  This really helps us plan how much paper to cut.  Cost for the 6 cards will be $14.00.  We will be using the new sparkly brads, pearls, rhinestones, my favorite Dazzling Diamonds glitter, and both the Deck the Halls and Candy Cane Christmas Designer Series Papers.   Give me a call at 630-759-3089 or E-mail me at paperrose01@aol.com to let me know you are coming.

Watch for another Holiday Frenzy Stamp Camp card coming soon….
