Simple September Punches…the end…

Our fifth and Simple September Punch project is a card featuring the new Wisteria Wonder designer series paper and Concord Crush Scallop ribbon.  I printed 2 cards that are basically the same but show how you can choose to add a message – or not – you can choose pears or rhinestones to the flower centers – or not.  You can choose different color combinations as Debbie did above, and they will look great.  This card will give you the opportunity to express your creativity.  The stamp set used is “Flower Fest” and the punches include Fancy Flower, 5-Petal Flower, and Build-A-Blossom.  Sadly, we don’t have a punch for the smallest flower, and it requires the use of scissors!

Debbie and I hope to see you at our Simple September Punch Stamp Camp.  Remember the dates – September 9th 4 – 9 PM and Saturday 9 AM – 4 PM.  I appreciate your letting me know if you plan on coming, but if you just decide to come without advance notice, we always have extra card packets and would love to have you come.  We plan on having some new Christmas items out, as well as extra Christmas mini catalogs.  Now is the time to schedule a book party or workshop.  Our holiday offer is $15 extra dollars in free merchandise for each qualifying workshop.   As soon as we have tested our embossed antique brads, I will add a post showing you the results!  Next Stamp Camp is October 7th and 8th and I think fall will be in the stamp camp air.

Have a Safe and Happy Labor Day Weekend.  Happy Crafting, Rosemary

Simple September Punch Preview #4

I have been advised by my lovely family that some grammatical and spelling errors have been appearing on occasion in my blogs.  My excuse is that I spend all day on the computer and by evening, the brain and fingers are not always coordinated.  I run spell-check, but it is just not smart enough to pick up some of those little words that don’t make sense if they are not used correctly.  If anyone wants to volunteer to be my proof-reader, please hold your hand up high!!!!

Are these boxes – or bags – or box/bags?  Whatever you want to call them, these little box/bags are just darling!  Debbie left the message blank on the front of the boxes, but you could easily use this for a birthday, thank-you, thinking of you, or just “for you” message. This is the standard box die we have used previously.  Deb added scalloped squares on the front and back ,with Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo and Whisper White layers on the front.  The bird and owl are formed with circle, scallop, heart , leaf and flower punches .  The 1/2” X 8 1/2” whisper white handle is attached to the box with brads that coordinate with the overall color scheme.  Tissue paper or cellophane nestled in the box/bag, filled with goodies and tied with Island Indigo ribbon would be the perfect gift for a special friend!   Bird and owl boxes

Which box/bag will you make at the Simple September Punch stamp camp?  Are you a bird or owl fan?

Only one simple punch project is left to preview.  Check back tomorrow to see it . Happy Crafting!  Rosemary

Simple September Punch Card #3…

Dress 2Isn’t this little frock just too cute!  I love the color scheme of Lucky Limeade, Early Espresso, Calypso Coral, and Wisteria Wonder.  These colors are all reflected in the Berry Blossoms designer paper Debbie chose for the dress.  The real challenge was not punching out the skirt, top, or straps – the real challenge is fashioning the hangar out of wire!  Debbie is working on perfecting her method using the wooden ribbon form and needle nose pliers.  She added Stampin’ Dimensionals under the skirt  for dimension and has chosen 2 styles of Wisteria flowers that you can use at the waist.  Notice that once again, we are using the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder on the front cs layers.  Now I can hear several of you saying, “Rosemary, you KNOW I don’t have any daughters I can give this card to!”  Well, I know everyone has a little neighbor girl who would love to receive this card.  In fact, I know an almost 65-year-old stamper who happens to live in my house who would love this card.  If you wish, you can add a simple message on the front.  “Sparkle,” “Adorable,” “Wish” or “Joy” come to mind.

Check in tomorrow for another punch preview!  #4 is not a card and is really cute.  Happy Crafting, Rosemary

Simple September Punches continued…

Hasn’t the weather been wonderful this week?  It’s so hard to believe it is almost September and Halloween is just 2 months away.  Halloween is hubby Norb’s favorite celebration and we will be having our Second Annual Halloween Open House on October 30th.  It should be a frightful sight!  Well, on to prettier sights…

Grape Crush PunchI love this simple Daffodil Delight and Concord Crush color scheme.  Debbie used the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, a strip of Beyond the Garden DSP, the scallop trim border punch and the scallop circle punch to punch out her “Happiest Birthday Wishes” image.  We have really made good use of the polka dot embossing folder and this birthday stamp set for this stamp camp.  Deb has added a single Concord Crush glitter brad at the top of the card.  This simple brad draws the eye up to the top of the card for added interest.  I just realized that I tend to call Concord Crush by the term Grape Crush.  Oh well, it is close.

Happy Crafting this week!  Check back tomorrow for Simple September Punch #3.  Take care!  rosemary

Simple September Punches Preview

Happy Saturday!  I have been trying every night to write a new post, but after working each night until 10:30 PM or later, my brain is dead.  Thank goodness for weekends!  Debbie is going to try something new today – embossed antique brads.  I have embossed brads for years by heating them with the heat gun, dipping the hot brad in embossing powder, and then heating the brad again until the excess powder drips off.  With my method, I have had issues with the color embossing evenly.  Deb is going to try a simple technique she read about, and we will share the results in a few days.  I think the thought of Chantilly lace ribbon, a pretty antique brad and a vintage stamp just sounds yummy!  Well, on to Simple September Punches…Happy Birthday Punch

This first card is simply a WOW – yet is so simple and elegant!  Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White cs with the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, a touch of 1/8” black taffeta ribbon and 4” Melon Mambo scallop ribbon – and you are DONE!  The stamp set “Happiest Birthday Wishes” not only provides a simple birthday tag image, but will also give you a choice of messages to stamp inside the card!  Pretty cool!

Check back tomorrow for the next Simple September Punch preview.  We will again use an image from “Happiest Birthday Wishes” and our color scheme will be Daffodil Delight and Grape Crush.

Mark your calendars now for Friday Sept 9th from 4 – 9 PM and Saturday Sept 10th from 9 AM – 4 PM.  Come anytime during those hours and bring only yourself.  We will have all the card stock cut and scored, along with the adhesive, scissors and anything else you might need.  The cost is $10.  As always, we will have cold water and soda in the frig and on Saturday morning, a pot of fresh coffee.  If you can, let me know you are coming to insure we have enough paper cut.  But if you decide at the last second to come, no problem, there is always an extra packet or two.

Please let me know if you did not receive your Holiday Mini so that I can call Stampin’ Up and have it resent.  We will have extras available at the Stamp Camp also.

Happy Stamping and talk to you tomorrow!  Rosemary

The Holiday Mini Catalogs are in the mail!!!!!

Debbie came over tonight and finished up projects 4 and 5 for the September 9th and 10th Simple September Punches Stamp Camp.  Can you believe it – today is August 24th and all 5 are ready to go!  Gosh, is it really August 24th?  I have been so busy at work that the days are just blurring together.  I just can’t seem to catch up.  Well, maybe next week will be calmer!!!!  Now for the really important question:

Have you checked your mailbox for your

HolidayMini_button_catalog_US

HolidayMini11_LP_b1header

I had 2 stampers tell me today that their mini catalogs arrived today.  All I can tell you is that this mini catalog is absolutely AWESOME!  I would love to have everything in the book.  My husband loves Halloween and he has given me his order in preparation of our Annual Halloween Open House.  But my list of Christmas goodies is MUCH longer than his!  We will have extra mini catalogs for you at the September Stamp Camp.  However, if you want to have a Catalog Book Party, and don’t want to wait,  let me know now as our extra minis will be in the end of this week.  This is a WONDERFUL time to schedule a workshop or a book party.  We are giving an extra $15 in free merchandise from the catalog for any qualifying single, workshop or book party orders.  A qualifying order would be $150 or more of merchandise.  This is really not hard to meet.  One of my favorites is page 34 – the Stitched Stockings stamp set ($19.95 clear, $27.95 wood) and Stocking Builder Punch ($16.95).  If you have 4 friends who are interested in these 2 items, you are almost at $150.  Add a package of Stampin’ Dimensionals or the beautiful 3/8” velvet stitched ribbon on page 22, and you are there.  And with that qualifying order, you will receive your $25 in free merchandise PLUS the extra $15 I am giving for the holidays!  That is $40 of free merchandise from the holiday mini or regular idea book and catalog.

I will be back tomorrow with the preview of our first Simple September Punch card.  We will be doing 4 cards and the cutest little box ever – all featuring punches.  The bargain price is $10.00.  Mark your calendar now:  September 9th 4 – 9 PM and September 10th 9 AM – 4 PM.  Give me a call if you have any questions.

Happy Crafting!  Rosemary – 630.759.3090 – www.paperrose01@aol.com

More Summer Stamping

I wanted to show you the other card we will be doing at our Summer Stamping this weekend and another birdhouse I finished last week

Vase of FlowersThis is the double-fold card Debbie did for swaps at the Conventional we went to last weekend.  She and I liked the card so much that we thought it would be fun for our Summer Stamping this weekend.  However, the color will be a surprise as we used up all the Melon Mambo.  We will use the new stripes embossing folder as shown on the left panel of the card, but the colors will be a surprise.  Deb will decide on the color scheme when she is here tomorrow – it will even be a surprise for me!  Have Debbie tell you her story of how she colored her images while taking the train downtown!

BirdhouseThis is the other birdhouse I mentioned in yesterday’s post.  I used my Martha Stewart image to stamp and then punch the 2 birds.  However, I think the Stampin’ Up bird punch would work well.  I keep thinking the bird would be too large, but we will have to try it during Summer Stamping.  I added a triple butterfly on the roof to add additional dimension.  Note the piece of bubble gum Mr. P has the birdhouse sitting on for the picture.  He claims the bubble gum was needed for the purpose of angling the bird house!  As you can see, the birdhouse can be done in about any color.  We will have a variety of colors to choose from.

Hope to see you this weekend.  I have changed the date of September Stamp Camp due to Labor Day.  We will meet on September 9th and 10th – normal time, normal place…but more to come later.  I know I had said September would be Punch Potpourri but I’m thinking it might change to Simple September with cards that are simply simple.  But as I said, more to come later….

Take care, Rosemary – paperrose01@aol.com – 630-759-3089

Summer Fun

It’s hot, sunny, and time for some summer stamping and crafts.  See 3 of the 4 fun projects below we will be creating at our August 5th and 6th Summer Stamping!  The pictures are not the greatest but you will have a good idea of what we will be doing!

Fountain 1We have not done a bi-fold card in ages and ages so this month we are going to do two!   I’m not sure why we haven’t been doing this style other than the fact that you need 2 – 2 1/8” score lines instead of the normal 4 1/4” but you don’t have to worry about that as we will have the cutting and scoring done for you.  This set is from the Summer Mini and is entitled “Touch of Kindness.”  With the cute little birds on the front, I think I will have the cat image on the inside of the card, ready to pounce!  The 2 side panels have green cs – 1 side is embossed with the polka dot embossing folder, and the other panel is green DSP.  This is a very simple and cheerful card!

I just LOVE the birdhouse we will be crafting.  The coral birdhouse was my second attempt – the first attempt was crafted out of typing paper and scotch tape (done while I was on a teleconference and in listening mode).  The coral house was done correctly but at the end of a LONG day.  The lime birdhouse shows how I have “advanced” in my birdhouse accessorizing.  I’ve also done a blue one with birds on it and will post it tomorrow.  We will have several colors of card stock and designer paper you can choose from.  This is a fun project and you can make it your own!  well, the tornado siren is now going off.  Don’t know if I should continue typing or head for the basement!  Such decisions!

Swimming 2This card is titled Sunny Fun and uses the Sunny Fun stamp set from the Summer Mini.  The color is washed out but in real life, this is a darling card.   This version includes a set of flip flops from the same set.  I’ve done another version of the same card with no message and different style flip flops across the bottom border.  We will use chalks in coloring out little people and use card stock with some sponged ink on the sand and stickles on the wavy water.  I added 2 dimensionals under the second layer of waves to give the card more dimension.  My favorite part is coloring the kids and their water tubes.

Well, it is starting to storm, and I don’t want to lose this post so I am going to sign off for tonight.  Remember that Summer Stamping is August 5th from 3 PM – 9 PM and Saturday from 9 AM – 4 PM.  Come whenever it is convenient for you.  If you are new, we will walk you through all the projects and I guarantee you will have a good time.  The cost is $10 for 4 projects.  If you think you might be coming – please drop me a line but if you decide at the last second to come, then you know you are welcome!  The only thing you have to bring is yourself!  All project materials are provided for you.

Happy Tuesday!  Rosemary Przybylski – paperrose01@aol.com – 630-759-3089 – 533 Emerson Circle, Bolingbrook.
