Hearts and Flowers

Stampers, these cards are the epitome of hearts and flowers.  What do you think?

Be Mine 2 My 2 samples are slightly different. This card uses the new (only $8.95) “Candy Conversations”stamp but only the hearts are stamped on the Marina Mist cs.  I re-stamped the hearts on Whisper White in Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Regal Rose, and Red Riding Hood.  I used the small heart punch and used glue dots to adhere the hearts.  A permanent red marker was applied to rhinestones for the bling.  Love the way permanent markers provide such instant rhinestone color!

My ValentineThis sample shows the entire “Candy Conversations” stamp.  I punched out a “love you” heart stamped in Night of Navy for the center heart, and used the Twitterpated DSP for the other hearts.  4 pearls provided the finishing touch.  Both cards feature one of the Adorning Accents edgelits dies which provides such soft, graceful curves.  Note the Red Riding Hood cs peeking through.  The little bit of added color provides a nice accent.  The Twitterpated DSP is going to be a favorite of mine.  The flower colors in this DSP include Pink Pirouette, Red Riding Hood, Marina Mist and Baja Breeze.

Three of the four projects for the Hearts and Flowers Stamp Camp have found their place on my blog – only one to go!  We are doing four cards instead of five this month as several of the cards require a bit more love, time and attention.  However, we will have some of the work pre-done for you.  Deb and I hope to see you this weekend.  As a reminder, Stamp Camp is Friday February 3rd from 4-9 PM and Saturday February 4th from 9 AM – 4 PM.  If you can, let me know which day you will attend.  However, if you decide at the last second to drop by, we will have a packet for you!  Give me a call if you have any questions – 630.759.3089.  And check back tomorrow for the final Hearts and Flowers Stamp Camp project which features the use of scraps – something ALL stampers manage to have!

Blessings, Rosemary

A Beautiful Valentine for a Beautiful Day

Wasn’t the weather absolutely gorgeous today?  I am in winter hibernation, but my walker and I went out on the deck and walked around for a bit – and I wasn’t wearing a coat!!!  On top of that, I wasn’t even cold when I came back inside.  I’m hoping tomorrow will be another sunny spring-like day.  It’s hard to believe it’s the end of January.  Let’s take a look at another card we will be doing at our Hearts and Flowers Stamp Camp on February 3rd and 4th.

With Love 1This elegant red and white heart card features the new Hearts Adorning Accents textured impressions embossing folder. It’s very difficult to see the little raised white hearts in the picture. The large red heart is the Scalloped Heart of Hearts embosslits die. It is so simple to use and makes such a beautiful embossed accent.  I love the embosslits dies as they cut out the shape and add the embossing in one step.  I’m thinking about using this basic card as the anniversary card for all my married children this year.  This could easily be done in assorted colors and would be perfect for anniversaries, or even birthdays.

Stop by tomorrow to see a hearts and flowers card.  And don’t forget to check out the Sale-A-Brations freebies at www.stampinup.com.

Hope you can make it this weekend.  Blessings, Rosemary

P.S. I Love You

Dear Stampers,

As January creeps to a close, it is time to turn our thoughts to our best friends, family, spouses and other loved ones.  We can show our affection and caring with a card featuring hearts in honor of St. Valentine.  Of course we should show our love 365 days a year, but February 14th is a special day for showing our caring.  I love “P.S. I Love You” featuring the new Paper Doily die.  The paper doily is easy to use, but takes a few extra minutes to poke out the little paper pieces that don’t jump out automatically.  Here are the 2 of the samples I created of “P.S. I Love You”  for our upcoming Hearts and Flowers Stamp Camp.                PS I Love YouPS I love You bike

I used a color scheme of Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant.  The stamp set featured is the new “Take it to Heart” featured in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I also used the new Framelits Dies to cut the 2 of the hearts shown on the 2 cards.  The new P.S. I Love You set  has the cute modern label stamp which works perfectly with the modern label punch.   The wonderful white 5/8” Organza Ribbon  adds the finishing touch to this elegant card.

Plan on attending the Hearts and Flowers Stamp Camp on Friday February 3rd (4 – 9 PM) and Saturday February 4th (9 AM – 4 PM).   The cost for this creative camp will be $10 and all materials and tools will be provided.  The remaining cards will be featured on my blog in the next few days, so please check back.  Give me a call if you have any questions.  Take care and Happy Stamping, Rosemary – 630-759-3089.

More Winter Scenes…

Sparkling Winter Trees lighterI love this wintry scene using the “Scenic Season” stamp set.  I used a So Saffron and Old Olive color scheme.  The new scalloped  Adorning Accents Edgelits Die is used here and was challenging at first, but I have worked out the bugs.  Complimenting the die is the new Adorning Accents embossing folder which is easy peasy to use.  I love the gentle flow of the new pleated ribbons and chose to use the Pear Pizzazz on this card.  Although you can’t see it, there is Dazzling Diamonds glitter sparkling on the trees and ground.   A little red bird flies  high in the sky on this card.  I loved the bird so much that I did another sample with 3 blue birds flying around the glittery trees.  Now – on to a card perfect for anyone during this cold time of year!

Happy Winter 1This little guy from the retired “Merry Crittermas” set shows how much fun winter can be!  The glimmer paper was once silver but now has a definite blue tone.  We used water color pencils and Smooch to color our happy rabbit.  Snowflakes from “Jolly Old St Nick” were stamped in white on the Bashful Blue card stock.  Although this card was basically done in blues, another sample card has a Cajun Craze button with a bunny dressed in brown, orange and red.  Any color combination can be used for this wintry scene!

We hope you will attend our Winter Wonderland Stamp Camp on January 6th and 7th.  The cost for the 4 projects is $8.00.  We’re coloring our glimmer cs, coloring rhinestones, using the new Adorning Accents die and embossing folder, and the gentle pleated ribbon.  Lots of new things for 2012.  I’m excited about the projects we will complete in this brand new year!  Give me a call if you have any questions (630-759-3089) or drop me a note at paperrose01@aol.com.  Happy crafting!  Rosemary

Brrrrr….It’s Time to Celebrate a Winter Wonderland

Isn’t this a perfect card for winter?  “Lovely as a Tree” with a bit of Chantilly Crochet Trim, an antique brad, and Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla designer paper on a Early Espresso card creates a beautiful scene.  Deb added a vanilla snowflake to the card on the left, but the snowflake is option as you can see in the card on the right.  We have 2 patterns of designer paper to choose from.  This is one of the projects we will be making at our Winter Wonderland Stamp Camp on January 6th and 7th.

Winterwonderland 1And speaking of Winter Wonderland, here it is.  Using a Not Quite Navy and Cherry Cobbler theme, Deb created this card with the cute little snowman from the “Old St. Nick” stamp set, and the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  She placed a few rhinestones for some sparkle and added her Winter Wonderland at a slant which provides an interest factor.  Speaking of rhinestones, you will have the opportunity of custom coloring your rhinestones at our Winter Wonderland Stamp Camp.  You could add red or blue rhinestones to this card instead of the clear.  We will be custom coloring both the rhinestones and the silver glimmer paper.  When we post “Happy Winter” you will see colored glimmer paper!

Hope to see you this weekend.  We will be making 4 projects at a cost of $8.00.  Our 2012 dates and times will be the same as 2011 with the exception of the month of April due to Easter.  We will continue to meet the first full weekend of the month from 4 – 9 PM on Fridays and 9 AM – 4 PM on Saturdays.  Check out the dates below:

January 6th & 7th, February 3rd & 4th, March 2nd & 3rd, April 13th & 14th, May 4th & 5th, June 1st & 2nd, July Open House (date to be announced), August 3rd & 4th, September 7th & 8th, October 5th & 6th, November 2nd & 3rd, and December 7th & 8th.  If you have a date that doesn’t fit into your schedule, let me know 1 week prior, and we can make up a kit for you with the stamping and die cutting already done.  It’s always helpful if you can let us know ahead of time if you’re coming, but that is NOT a requirement!   Check back tomorrow to see the final 2 projects we will be creating at our Winter Wonderland Stamp Camp!
