This card was FUN to make. Baja Breeze, Primrose Petals, and Very Vanilla was the color scheme. 12 postage stamp punched squares form the “quilt.” The key to giving the quilt lots of interest, is to carefully mix the DSP squares. That was the fun part!
I ended up with 4 samples – 2 Happy Birthday samples and 2 Valentine samples. If you look at the picture to the right, you can see the embellishments that were added. I call this “stepping up to the next level” as we made a faux bow held together with a button, added a hat pin, and made a folded Happy Birthday banner. I also did the same card but with simpler embellishments consisting of a bow and a smaller Happy Birthday tag; this version is shown below as the Valentine “quilt” card. Note the Valentine embellishment close up – still attractive, but simpler than the “stepping up to the next level” version.

The Designer Series Papers used for the “quilts” were “Tea for Two” for the Birthday card, and “More Amore” for the Valentine card. At the February Stamp Camp, you will have your choice as to which card you do – birthday/any occasion or Valentine – and – simple embellishments or “step it up” embellishments. The choice is yours! Let’s spend a few minutes learning about Paper Pumpkin.
