Abundant Hope

Abundant Hope is onEaster Blessings 2e of my favorite retired sets and perfect for Sending Springtime Smiles 1Easter and spring.

I love the contrast between the Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.  The daffodil image was colored with Stampin’ Write Markers, moistened with “huffs” of breath and then stamped on Whisper White cs.  I did add some extra color to the daffodils with the fine point of the Daffodil Delight marker.  The leaves were colored with Old Olive.  The navy mat was die cut from Perfect Pennants Bigz L.  The new Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder gives a bit of texture between the daffodil and the DSP.  This embossing folder is so subtle yet ties together the scallop theme of the card.  The two styles of DSP shown above will be available at the March Stamp Camp and you can choose your favorite.  I found the thin navy ribbon at the bottom of my ribbon box and it adds the perfect contrast to the upper card.  Finally, the navy stamped message matted to the navy scallop oval carries thru the color contrast.  A butterfly or two would be perfect, but I must have forgotten to add it – another senior moment.  So Saffron cs, die cut with the new oval framelits provide a perfect background inside the card for the message of your choice.

This is the fourth card we will be creating at the March Stamp Camp – Friday March 1st,  4 – 9 PM and Saturday March 2nd, 9 AM – 4 PM.  $10 is the cost for the 4 cards.  If you plan on attending, send me a quick E-mail if you can.  This helps with knowing how much paper to cut.  But we always have extra packets ready, so if you decide at the last second to stop by, you know Debbi and I would love to see you.  Next Stamp Camp is the first weekend in April – April 5th and 6th and water is the theme – guaranteed to be a splash!

Colorful Easter

Debbi was tasked with developing an Easter card that was simple but colorful and elegant.  She did a great job!  This is the outcome:

Happy Easter 1Deb used Circle Circus for the colorful spring ornament images on the card.  She used Bashful Blue, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, and Wisteria Wonder against the Whisper White mat on a Bashful Blue card.  The polka dot embossing folder provides a bit of texture as does the perky yellow ribbon.  This card is perfect for Easter but could also be used for any occasion – well, not for a male , maybe, but would be nice for someone feminine.  Now don’t accuse me of gender bias here but I don’t think it looks like a masculine card!

This is the third card we will be creating at the March Stamp Camp on March 1st and 2nd.  The fourth card will be posted tomorrow.  I hope everyone can come as we will need something springy to compensate for the snow that we are waiting for.

Give me a call or send an E-mail if you have any questions.  Blessings, Rosemary  630.759.3089 – paperrose01@aol.com.

St. Patrick’s Day and Easter both at the March Stamp Camp

I can’t believe how fast the year is progressing.  However, if it would warm up 20 degrees or so, I would be much happier.  As I have shared many times before, I absolutely HATE the cold weather. I wear sweats and a turtle neck and still freeze.  I have the thermostat set at 75 and STILL freeze – but don’t worry, I will turn the temperature down for March Stamp Camp.

It’s hard to believe we are doing both St. Patrick’s Day and Easter cards at one Stamp Camp.  I mentioned to Granddaughter Jailyn that Papa (my hubby) had put up the Easter decorations.  Her comment was:  “But isn’t March next?”  I had to tell her that Easter was in March this year – the last day of March – but still in March.

Stamp Camp will be the normal date – first full weekend in March – March 1st and 2nd.  Debbi designed a darling St. Patrick’s Day card for this stamp camp – done with punches.  We haven’t done a punched card in quite some time!

St Patrick's Day CardThe  message is hard to read, but says “Happy St. Patrick’s Day.  Deb colored several rhinestones green and inserted them in the message.  The chevron embossing folder provides texture to the background layer.  Mr. Leprechaun features a poppy red beard and mustache.  The barrel features “gold” from  champagne glimmer card stock.  A bit of poppy ribbon provides a finishing touch and more texture to the card.  Assorted punches provide the different shapes needed to create the card.  Deb has pre-punched some of the smaller pieces and we will have everything out that you will need for this card.

Easter ZI believe this is the first “Z” card I have ever made.  The base card stock is cut lengthwise at 4 1/2”.  The card is then scored at 5 1/2” and 2 3/4”.  I chose an Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria color theme.  The new Secret Garden stamp set and framelit dies provide these crisp looking flowers and leaves.  I stamped the images with VersaMark on Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Elegant Eggplant , and Pear Pizazz card stock.  The images were then embossed with clear embossing powder.  This provides the shiny detail..  Finally, I used the Secret Garden framelits to die cut the images for a crisp effect.  I then used my snips to cut to out the center of the Peony (or is that a Gardenia?) A Stampin’ Dimensional adds depth when putting the 2 pieces of the Peony together.  More dimension was added by using a dimensional under the eggplant lily.  Finally, 2 butterflies and a few pearls embellish the card.  I love the finished effect and think this would be a lovely card for any occasion.    Although I will have some images embossed and precut in the colors used on this card, you can do your own flowers in any colors you choose.

These are just 2 of the 4 cards we will be doing at the March Stamp Camp –Friday,  March 1st from 4 – 9 PM and Saturday, March 2nd from 9 AM – 4 PM.  We will be doing 2 other cards that can be used for Easter, spring, or any occasion.  The cost is $10.  This includes all materials as well as liquid refreshment (no – that does not mean beer, wine or stronger drinks.)

Also, mark your calendars for the April Stamp Camp – April 5th and 6th.  I am so excited about this stamp camp – everything will be “water” related – a rain boot, an ocean, rain umbrellas , and ??? (I’m having a senior moment!)  And don’t forget about  Sale-A-Brations – ends March 22, 2012.  You can choose free product from the Sale-A-Brations booklet for every $50 in product you purchase.
