Rhinestone Rhapsody Swallowtail (and more dress samples)

In case you are tired of seeing the dress cards, I thought I would start with a totally different card today.  Many times I look to see what other demonstrators have done, and then create my cards based from their ideas.  Well bummer!  I didn’t see ANY Swallowtail samples that I liked, so this card is pure Rosemary!

Swallowtail

I increased the size above to try to show the Swallowtail’s glimmer, but it is still hard to see.  The Swallowtail image was embossed in Early Espresso.  Then I took a damp aqua pen and “colored” the butterfly with Champagne Glimmer Mist.  The term “colored” is used very loosely as you don’t color in each little area of the image – you simply lightly cover the entire area with glimmer mist.  My goal was to stay in the lines, but I think I did pretty well.  I also “painted” the mini message “FOR YOU” with the Champagne Glimmer Mist.  The finished effect is pretty pretty cool.  As this is Rhinestone Rhapsody Stamp Camp, a large rhinestone was used for the Swallowtail head, and 3 graduated rhinestones on the lower left top card layer.  Your card stock will be pre cut and then die cut with the designer framelit shown above.  I will try to have several butterflies pre-embossed for those of you who are in a time crunch.

Now on to the final dress card samples!

Silver DressDebbie created this silver glimmer dress card.  We didn’t have the shade of ribbon she was looking for, so she colored the ribbon and rhinestones to match.  Note the rhinestones used at the hem of the dress.  I know I said this yesterday, but I will say it again – these cards are quite simple to make.  There is a framelit die for the body form and 2 framelit dies for the dresses.  You fold your black card, emboss the Whisper White cs layer with the embossing folder of your choice, die cut a dress and body form, slap them together and adhere to the card with Stampin Dimensionals.  We will have lots of paper available to choose your dress from.

Fancy dress 2This was my grand finale card!  Note the skirt tiers and the fabric trim at the hem.  The tiers were formed by die cutting two extra partial skirts and adhering them in place.  After the off white belt was attached, I took one of the Vanilla Flower Trim rosettes and after cutting several layers out to make the rosette smaller, I used the cut  layers for the skirt trim.  The fabric was stretched out and attached to the hem with Tombo Liquid Adhesive.  Permanent Marker was used to fashion the rhinestone necklace.  Additional rhinestones could be used to highlight the Vintage Wallpaper background.

The last dress sample is a simple sundress.  A red belt was added and small red flowers were punched and attached with glue dots.  Small rhinestones highlight the tiny flowers.  A touch of color was added with the “FOR YOU” mini message banner stamped in red and die cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits.  So Saffron and Bashful Blue banners were added to carry the dress colors thru.  Note the envelope stamped with the dress image.  We will have the body forms precut in black and in Blush Blossom.

Tomorrow’s blog will feature the two Feel Goods card samples.  The Feel Goods stamp set is in the spring mini catalog that is good through the end of May.  This is a great set to have with 5 messages.

I hope you can make it this weekend – Friday, May 3rd, 4 – 9 PM and Saturday, May 4th, 9 AM – 4 PM.  Cost is $12.00 and everyone will have a package of rhinestones in their packet.  Give me a call if these dates/times don’t fit your schedule and we will try to set up an alternate date/time.

Blessings, Rosemary – 630.759.3089 – paperrose01@aol.com
