Regarding Dahlias

DahliaDahlias are beautiful summer flowers and our dahlia card from the new Regarding Dahlias set pays homage to this lovely blossom.  Debbi created this sharp black and white card that features a single stamp and a single ink color.  Layering Modern Medley designer series paper with basic black card stock is the key to keeping this creation simple.  Stamping your envelope with this sharp flower leaves the recipient wondering what will be found within the envelope.

Regarding Dahlias is one of the five cards will be will creating at our September Stamp Camp.  There are 4 days for you to choose from for this exciting stamp camp:  Thursday September 5th from 2 to 9 PM, Friday September 6th from 2 to 9 PM, Saturday September 7th from 9 AM to 3 PM, and Saturday September 14th from 9 AM to 3 PM.  As I mentioned in my last blog, the September 14th stamp camp is being held as several Saturday stampers are tied up on the 7th.  If you plan on coming on the 14th, please let me know as soon as you can.  The cost for this stamp camp with 5 cards and 2 lined envelopes will be $12.

Give me a call or send or send an E-mail if you have any questions or would like to place an order.  Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 – paperrose01@aol.com

Lined Envelopes and a Christmas Poinsettia

I am just loving the new Envelope Liners Framelits Dies!  We will be lining envelopes for 2 of our September Stamp Camp cards.  See how sharp the lined envelopes look:

Lined envelopes 1The dies are found on page 37 of the Holiday catalog.  There are 3 sizes in the set but the largest die is my favorite.  The liner slips right into the envelope.  I add a bit of snail to ensure the liner doesn’t come out when the card is removed.  I am also discovering other uses for the dies.  I recently made an easy box using the middle die.  Creativity is the key.

Poinsettia with envelope 1This beautiful gold embossed poinsettia card is one of the projects we will be completing at our September Stamp Camp.  Note the 2 lined envelopes that would be perfect with the card’s Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler color highlights.  The large envelope liner tightly uses a 6X6 piece of card stock or designer series paper.  I have precut the DSP to 6 X 6 1/2 to allow for a bit more breathing space at the top of the liner die.

Poinsettia best

This close up of the card shows more detail.  The Cherry Cobbler poinsettia is embossed in gold and cut out with paper snips.  Two poinsettias are cut, with the center petals of the second poinsettia providing a 3-D effect with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The new Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder provides a raised background and intentionally conflicts with the stripes of the holiday designer series paper.  A bit of gold ribbon gives some bling and the ticket-punched and gold embossed Merry Christmas punched with the ticket punch conveys our message.  There is a choice of 6 patterns of DSP to cut for the liner.  Come early so you can choose your favorite.  My goal is to have the poinsettias pre-embossed for you and I will have a few pre-cut for those on a tight time schedule.

Speaking of time schedules – you may be wondering when September Stamp Camp will be held.  We are continuing with our added Thursday so the dates are Thursday September 5th from 2 to 9 PM, Friday September 6th from 2 to 9 PM and Saturday September 7th from 9 AM to 3 PM.  Stamp Camp will also be on held on Saturday, September 14th from 9 AM to 3 PM as several stampers are tied up on the 7th.  If you plan on attending on the 14th, please let me know in advance.  We are doing 5 cards – 4 summer flowers and the poinsettia shown above.  The summer flowers include a dahlia, poppies, lilies, and single blooms from the Flower Shop set.  The cost will be $12.00.  I will be posting the remaining cards within the next few days, so check back to see what we will be creating.  If you prefer to purchase a kit, please let me know by September 5th.
