Lilies in a Vase

Another summer flower favorite – the lily – is depicted in our Lilies in a vase card.

Backyard singleThe Backyard Basics stamp set features lilies and and tulips as well as butterfly, bird and bee images.  I really like this set as there is a Backyard Basics Framelit set to match.  I originally started out coloring my stamp, doing the “huff and puff,” and then stamping the image.  I decided, however, that stamping the image in Jet Black StazOn, and then coloring the flowers and stem with markers, gave the flowers more definition.  As you can see, I used 2 stems of lilies – one in Strawberry Slush and Pink Pirouette and the other in the new Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral.  I love the softness of the cantaloupe.  The clever vase is actually the wide oval punch with a flat bottom, and the rim formed with a sliver of the wide oval punch.  The Fancy Fan embossing folder gives the vase great texture.  The butterfly on the card is also part of the Backyard Basics set.  I stamped it on the new Baked Brown sugar and colored it with the pinks and peaches used in the flowers.  A bit of Fruit Punch Stickles adds some bling and interest to the butterfly image.   Although you can’t see it in the photo, there are actually 2 butterfly images with the colored top image giving the card a two-dimensional look.

Why is it the new Stampin’ Up colors have to do with food?  Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar – they all make me hungry!

So far we’ve viewed the poinsettia, dahlia and lily cards.  The field of poppies and the flower shop card are yet to come.  Blogs will be posted VERY SOON!  Don’t forget, September Stamp Camp is almost here – 4 days – Thursday September 5th from 2 to 9 PM, Friday September 6th from 2 to 9 PM, Saturday September 7th from 9 AM to 3 PM, and Saturday September 14th from 9 AM to 3 PM. As I have mentioned, the September 14th stamp camp is being held as several Saturday stampers are tied up on the 7th. If you plan on coming on the 14th, please let me know as soon as you can. The cost for this stamp camp with 5 cards is $12.00 – a bargain for these beautiful hand-made creations!  If you can tell me ahead of time which day you will be attending, it is a help – but not a necessity.  I always look forward to seeing you!

Give me a call or drop me an E-mail if you have any questions!  Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 –
