Special Season Dryer Sheet Card

We’ve been talking about making a dryer sheet card for the past month and finally, the time has come.  My sister sent me this idea and although you can make cards using this technique any time during the year, a Christmas tree works beautifully!  However, I will warn you that you might end up “wearing” glitter.  Dryer Sht Tree plain

Can you see the sparkle from the glitter on top of the dryer sheet?  It is very hard to discern in the photo.  This card is really quite simple.  We used the Special Season tree image found on page 29 of the holiday catalogue.  We stamped the bottom tree in Garden Green; then without re-inking the stamp, we stamped another tree to the right of the original image.  Finally, we re-inked the tree again, stamped off, and stamped the 3rd tree to the left of the original image.  Then we took a used dryer sheet, ironed to remove the wrinkles, and sprayed it with a spray fixative (I use Elmer’s Craft Spray Adhesive).  The sticky dryer sheet was laid sticky side down over the stamped card stock and smoothed out.  Excess dryer sheet was trimmed off and Dazzling Diamonds was sprinkled over and pressed into the dryer sheet.  After the excess glitter had been shaken off the card, we added a bit of silver ribbon on 2 of the corners, and adhered this top layer to a Garden Green card. The finished card sparkles like fresh fallen snow.

This second card has one minor difference – the ornaments on the bottom tree were colored with Smooch before adding the dryer sheet..  I like Smooch as it is shinier than a marker.  The ornaments are not noticeable in the first card but you can faintly see them in this second card.  The decision to color the ornaments or not is up to  you.  I like the cards both ways,

This wraps up the 5 cards we will be making in our October Stamp Camp.  5 cards – $12,00,  The dates again are:  Thursday, October 3rd from 2 – 9 PM, Friday, Oct 4th from 2 – 9 PM and Saturday, Oct 5th from 9 AM – 4 PM. If it is more convenient for you to come earlier on any of those days, just let me know and I will be able to accommodate you.

If you think you will be able to attend, it would be helpful if you could let me know which day you will be attending.  If you won’t know until closer to or the day of Stamp Camp, there is no problem as we always have extra packets ready.

Mark your calendars now for November Stamp Camp which will be held on November 7th,  8th and 9th.  We will be featuring Thanksgiving/Fall and Christmas.

Halloween Happiness

I just discovered I had a typo on the E-mail address I have been using.  Guess my fingers were ahead of my brain!  My E-mail address is paperrose01@aol.com

The Halloween Happiness stamp found on page 39 of the holiday catalogue is one of my favorites.  The price for this wood-backed stamp is only $9.95 which I think is a bargain.

Halloween Happiness noseDebbie designed Halloween Happiness as a gate card with chevrons on both sides of the gate.  We cut the stamp apart so that the pumpkins were on one stamp and the message on another.  This allowed us to color the pumpkins with markers, and stamp the message separately.  I stamped the sample above.  When I stamped the Halloween Happiness, I ended up with a shadow line.  Always a believer of “make lemonade when you have a lemon,”  I took my Pistachio Pudding marker and added more squiggly lines.  I used an orange permanent marker to color a rhinestone, and added it as the nose for the second pumpkin.  The oval framelits made cutting our ovals a cinch!  To carry the oval theme thru, I used the #2 oval framelit in Pistachio Pudding layered on Pumpkin Pie for the inner card.  We will be using the Witches’ Brew Designer Series Paper (DSP) to line our envelopes for this card.

This is the fourth card of the five we will be making at the October Stamp Camp on Thursday, October 3rd from 2 – 9 PM, Friday, Oct 4th from 2 – 9 PM and Saturday, Oct 5th from 9 AM – 4 PM. If you need to come earlier on any of those days, just let me know and I will be able to accommodate you. The cost for this stamp camp is $12.00.

Give me a call or send an E-mail if you have any questions.  I’m looking forward to seeing all of you!  Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 – paperrose01@aol.com.

The Bat Card

Hey PumpkinDaughter Debbi designed this cute “Bat Card,:  The Chevron Embossing Folder adds texture and interest to the background.  A bit of Witches Brew Designer Series Paper (DSP) sets the tone for Halloween.  A die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits sets off the punched bat (retired).  Although you cannot see it in the picture, there are actually 2 bats with the top bat secured with a Stampin’ Dimensional.  It appears the bat is preparing to fly off.  I love the “Hey Pumpkin!” stamp.  This image is part of the “Perfectly You” Hostess set found on page 39 of the holiday catalog – only $9.00 for the clear set.  Debbi finished the card by adding embellishments of black rhinestones and a bit of narrow black and white checked ribbon.  This is a perfect Halloween card for a child or an adult.  Plus it is simple to make – only 1 stamping required!

This is the third of five cards we will be making at our October Stamp Camp.  As a reminder, we now offer our monthly stamp camps on Thursday, as well as Friday and Saturday.  As noted in my previous blog, October Stamp Camp will be held on Thursday, October 3rd from 2 – 9 PM, Friday, Oct 4th from 2 – 9 PM and Saturday, Oct 5th from 9 AM – 4 PM. If it is more convenient for you to come earlier on any of those days, just let me know and I will be able to accommodate you. $12.00 is the cost for this stamp camp and the 5 cards.

I am loving the new Big Shot Magnetic Platform which is perfect for all my Framelits and Edgelits.  The magnetic platform holds those metal dies firmly in place over your stamped images.  It is available for $39.95 and can be found on page 185 of the big catalogue.  I have found that the time it saves is definitely worth the investment.
