TULIP TIME

2015.04.07 Tulips 2Our 4th and final card for April Stamp Camp is Tulip Time using the new single stamp “Love is Kindness.”  The message on the stamp reads:  “The essence of love is kindness.  Robert Louis Stevenson”  Tulip Time can be stamped with the message as shown here, or the message can be matted out as I have done in my second sample.  The colors on the beautiful Painted Blooms DSP include Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Rose Red, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.  I used the Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities to color my tulips, but other colors could certainly be used.  The card is actually Daffodil Delight with a layer of Blackberry Bliss, and a frame of Rose Red around the tulips.  Cotton Ribbon in Daffodil Delight frames the Blackberry.  Note the Large Scallop Edgelits usage on the one end of the DSP.  This adds interest to the card and allows the Blackberry Bliss to peek thru.  I did emboss the right end of the Blackberry but I’m not sure it is needed as only a small portion of the rich dark color is actually seen.

April Stamp Camp does a great job at welcoming spring!  4 cards for $12.00 with lots of flowers and butterflies.  May Stamp Camp is scheduled for May 7, 8, and 9 at the normal times.  As this is right before Mother’s Day, I will make sure our cards can be used for Moms and also for other special people and occasions.  If you can let me know when you are coming, or if you will need a kit, it is helpful but not required.  Don’t forget to take advantage of the free shipping offer thru Friday, April 10th.  Give me a call with any questions or concerns.

BLOOMS FOR YOU!

The third card for our April Stamp Camp is a bit quirky!  Actually, I thought the word “quirky” sounded better than odd or unusual.  My goal was to use the Berry Basket Die in a card. So, I came up with this simple card – or should I say, 3 cards:

2015.04.07 Zinnias 1aI’m sure you recognize the base of the berry basket.  These have been pre-cut and embossed for you.  Hello Honey has been embossed with the Spring Flowers Embossing Folder, the Crumb Cake basket base has been trimmed and sponged in the same color.  Because of the coloring in the zinnia seed packet, I chose Cherry Cobbler as my basket trim and for my words.  However, you could use one of the orange hues instead of the cobbler.  I placed a 1 X 8 1/2” strip of cs on my berry basket die and cut just the scalloped trim.  Although I chose to glue my trim on, it could also be stapled as we did on the actual Berry Baskets last month.  I added a pom-pom trim over my cobbler to bring out 2015.04.07 Forget me nots 1athe yellow coloring and a few butterflies and rhinestones.  This would be perfect with the Flower Patch stamp that reads “Happy Blooming Birthday!  However, this would be a great card for anyone who likes to garden.  These are 2015 seeds and just require a bit of soil, sun, and love.

Now, if you don’t like Zinnias, how about the lovely Forget-Me-Not?  This card is very similar to the Zinnia card, but is done in blues with a touch of yellow.  As I had only yellow and orange pom-pom trim, I chose to glue a bit of Marina Mist ribbon over my scallop trim for added texture.

But let’s say you prefer a garden with2015.04.07 Mixture 1 a mixture of color and types of flowers.  Then our Old Fashioned Mixture is the way to go.  I actually think this card would be sharp done in shades of purple, but I thought I would leave that to one of you to make during April Stamp Camp.  I will pre-cut an appropriate purple shade for the background.  Actually, as I look at the front of the seed packet, purples and yellows would be very sharp.

You can choose the seed packet and color scheme of your choice.  You certainly don’t have to case what I have done.

This is the 3rd card for our April Stamp Camp and again, there is no stamping on the card front!  It is all paper crafting.  Guess we better do some stamping on our 4th card!

MORE SPRING FLOWERS

Expressions cards 1More paper crafting for April Stamp is evident in our next card.  Like our Butterfly Basics card, there is no stamping on the card cover.  This card features a large die cut flower, an embossed 2” circle, and your choice of expression:  “hello,” “thanks,” or “happy.”  Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Strawberry Slush are the colors used for this cheery card.  A small piece of Sweet Taffy DSP pulls all the colors together.  Note the leaves used – these are actually ribbon leaves I found at Memories and Beyond which I’m sad to say, is closing.  When I saw another customer purchasing them, I grabbed what was left on the spool.  This expressions card uses texture in the flower center, the Crushed Curry background, the smooth ribbon, the crinkled leaves and the embossed butterfly.  I used the Crazy About You stamp set for several inside messages.  The “thanks” card reads “For being you.”  This 2-box stamp set has lots of messages!  The “happy” card could read “birthday,” “together,” “graduation,” “father’s day,” and more!

Hope you can make April Stamp Camp.  I apologize for the late blogs.  Somehow, Easter Dinner for 22 and 16 unique handmade Easter baskets got the best of me!  Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 – paperrose01@aol.com

IT IS FINALLY SPRING!!!!

Well Crafters, spring is finally here – both by calendar and by the day-to-day weather.  Some days are a bit nippy, but the positive signs are:  #1 – I did not wear a turtleneck yesterday and #2:  granddaughter Jailyn and I walked around Emerson Circle today and I did not wear a jacket!  Yahoo!  Now for some spring-time cards for our April Stamp Camp:

Butterfly 3This simple card is done in Bridal Pink with Flowerpot Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The Butterfly Basics stamp and matching dies provide our focal point.  A matching Sizzix border and a few pink-colored rhinestones add a bit of bling.  This is beautiful DSP and the layered butterfly adds the perfect touch.  There are more colors of this vibrant spring mix in the DSP packet.Butterfly 1

This card uses the white floral DSP with Night of Navy trim and clear rhinestones.  I chose Tangerine Tango for my butterflies as I wanted the color to jump out.

Butterfly 2This is the green floral version of the card.  I used Daffodil Delight to  highlight the many colors in the DSP with the Bridal Pink trim and clear rhinestones.  For April Stamp Camp, you can choose the DSP, trim and butterflies of your choice.  These colorful cards can be used for any occasion, and are quite easy to make.  I am die cutting trim and butterflies in every spare minute.

I’m going to stop and eat my dinner and then send another blog that features another card with choices.  Hope to see you for April Stamp Camp – Thursday and Friday, April 9th and 10th from 2 to 9 PM; and Saturday, April 11th from 9 AM to 3 PM.  Check back in 2 hours for another blog.

Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 – paperrose01@aol.com
