CANDY KISSES

Many thanks to Judith Cassidy for guest designing and doing all the prep for our final February Stamp Camp card.  Judy was gracious in responding to my plea for some post-rotator cuff surgery assistance!  She has designed the card I am calling Candy Kisses!

2016.01.28 Judys card

Judy used the Hearts Embossing Folder for the top mat of this red, white and chocolate card.  Sigh – it makes me crave chocolate!  As this is Judy’s creation, I am guessing she used her electronic paper cutter to cut out the cute candy kisses.  Rumor has it there will be REAL CHOCOLATE CANDY KISSES on the table when you make this card.

You have now seen all 4 cards for our February Stamp Camp.  If you let me know REAL SOON – I will customize your packet.  For example, if you can’t stand bears but love the Bloomin’ Love, let me know and I will omit the Bear Hugs card and insert 2 Bloomin’ Love cards.  As I am cutting paper now, I would appreciate your responding as soon as you can.

Some reminders from the E-mail I recently sent out: for the month of February, I will be offering a 25% product discount for all orders of $50 and up. This is a personal discount – not one offered by Stampin’ Up. Why am I doing this? I love many of the items in the new Handmade from the Heart Occasions Catalog that is good until the end of May, 2016, and I want you to enjoy them too. Plus, with a $50 order, you can take advantage of the Sale-A-Brations free items. Plan ahead so you can take advantage of this discount and Sale-A-Brations offerings.  You can check out the Sale-A-Brations items at 2016 Sale-A-Brations

Finally, a date/time reminder for February Stamp Camp. If you can let me know if you might be coming, it’s helpful, but not required. Thursday, February 4th from 2 – 9 PM, Friday, February 5th from 2 – 9 PM, and Saturday, February 6th from 9 AM – 4 PM. Hope to see you there!!!!!

BEAR HUGS!

This is one of my favorite sets from the new Handmade from the Heart Occasions Catalog.  You can view this catalog at 2016 Handmade from the Heart Catalog.  One of the things I like about the Bear Hugs set is the matching Framelits Dies.  There is a die for every image except the sentiments – how cool is that!!!!  This means no fussy cutting for 3-D images!

_SAM4446The Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder was used with the background Soft Suede cs.  But see the bear peeking thru the woods?  I inked the stamp with Basic Black Archival and stamped the bear onto the embossing folder, inserted my card stock and ran it thru the Big Shot several times.  Such a cool technique!  Mrs. Bear  is giving a great big hug as shown on the sentiment.  She is wearing an apron and bow stamped in Cherry Cobbler on a piece of the Love Blooms DSP Stack and die cut with those wonderful matching thinlits dies.  You can’t tell from this picture but the bow and hearts are sparkly because the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush quickly and easily added some glimmer.  Isn’t this a neat card?

_SAM4443The second sample is just a bit different.  This bear is clutching a “love you” valentine and a bouquet of colorful flowers.  The “You’re so sweet” sentiment is attached to a pot of honey.  Wink of Stella glitter is on the hearts, flowers, bow, and pot of honey.  The three images I did not use include a smaller bear, a bowler hat and a fish.  The fish image goes perfectly with the sentiment “Wishing you a day full of sunshine and a lake full of fish.”  This is perfect for the fisherman in your life.  This message could be masked to simply read “Wishing you a day full of sunshine.”  I know I could use a day full of sunshine!

This is our third card for the February Stamp Camp.  Doesn’t it look like a lot of fun?  Plus you will learn the technique of stamping directly on to your embossing folder – great for evergreens in the forest.  And you will have the opportunity to play with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush!

If you can, don’t forget to let me know when you might be coming – Thursday 2/4 from 2 – 9 PM, Friday 2/5 from 2 – 9 PM, or Saturday 2/6 from 9 AM – 4 PM.  Feel free to bring a snack.  We always have plenty of water and soda.

Bloomin’ Love

_SAM4441Bloomin Love is a beautiful set.  The Bloomin’ Heart Thinlit dies are absolutely awesome (P 17, Handmade from the Heart catalog).  I did use the Precision Base Plate as this is an intricate die.  I also purchased the Big Shot Die Brush (P 10, Handmade from the Heart catalog) and it did a magnificent job of removing those teeny tiny pieces from the intricate heart die – well worth the $11 investment.  The color scheme used is Blushing Bride and Rose Red.  The new Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper provides lots of interest.  The Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder was used on the Blushing Bride background cs and 1/8” ribbon highlights every other stripe.  The banner die does not come with this set, but I had purchased the Number of Years set which includes this easy to use die.  Pearls are perfect embellishments for the die cut flowers.  1/8” punched circles embellish the centers of the small embossed flowers.

_SAM4439The alternate sample is done in Real Red and Blushing Bride.  The only difference other than the color is the ribbon which is just a tinge wider than that used in the sample above.  A single loop bow was attached and an alternate sentiment was used.  For February Stamp Camp, you can choose either the Rose Red or the Real Red.  This is a great opportunity to use the Precision Base Plate and the Big Shot Die Brush.  If you choose, you can add additional glimmer to these cards by carefully adding Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.  Once you use this awesome brush, you will agree it is the best thing since sliced cheese!  See it on page 24 in the Handmade from the Heart catalog.  If you did not receive your catalog, you can pick one up at the February Stamp Camp.  And don’t forget about Sale-A-Brations!  I will have samples of these freebies out for you to see.  Incidentally, rumor has it that Paperrose01 will be offering a discount for all February orders of at least $50 – PLUS you can choose your free Sale-A-Brations item!!!!  Yahoo!!!!!

Come to February Stamp Camp and play with some fun new products!  Wait until you see the next card – a bear in the forest!  Don’t forget – February 4th from 2 – 9 PM, February 5th from 2 – 9 PM, and February 6th from 9 AM to 4 PM!

On a personal note, I only wear my arm brace at night now!  I can pick my arm up and cut paper with no problem!  Yahoo – you have to love the little things in life!  Blessings, Rosemary – home 630/759-3089, cell 630/965-1965, paperrose01@aol.com

The Best Thing Since Sliced Cheese

Be still my heart!!!!!  I am so in LOVE!  Stampin’ Up is carrying an absolutely wonderful product – WINK OF STELLA GLITTER BRUSH.  It is simply marvelous!  Write this down:  #141897 – Wink of Stella Glitter Brush – $8.00.  I guarantee you will want to order it.  It comes in clear and gold.  I have just worked with the clear, but the gold is on its way to my messy craft room and will be here in time for February Stamp Camp.  Because I will refer to it so much, I’m going to abbreviate it to WOS (Wink of Stella).  So, you may be wondering, just what does this miracle product do????  Let’s take a look at one of the February Stamp Camp cards – Happy Home  – which coordinates with the Hearth and Home Thinlits Dies that we used in the fall:

2016.01.27 Window tree 1OK – I will admit you can’t see much of the extra glitter I added here.  I colored my tree with several shades of pink Copic Markers, added some dots of darker pink and used my WOS to glitter the entire tree.  There is a window sheet over the scene which keeps us from clearly seeing the image but gives a nice window effect.  The sky was sponged with Soft Sky and the grassy area with Wild Wasabi.  The clouds were stamped, then re-stamped on scrap paper, colored with markers, cut out and popped on with glue dots.  This gives a great 3-D effect.  I used designer discretion on all 3 cards and extended the slope with a black marker, and added extra flowers and grass.  The flowers in the window box also have WOS added and are glimmery.  NOTE – the scrap of paper on the DSP in the right lower quadrant is NOT part of the card!!!

2016 FullSizeRender In this view of  Happy Home, 2 different patterns of the Love Blossoms DSP Stack are used.  You will have the opportunity to use the DSP of your choice from this cute stack.  The tree was stamped higher on the cs and different clouds were used.  Again, you can’t grasp the glimmer on the tree, on the “love you” letters, or on the single Blushing Bride heart in the window box from WOS, but it is there!  You will be dazzled when you see the card in person.  Just make sure you do a better job than I did with the window frame covering the tree trunk!

2016.01.27 Valentine kite This view is also part of Happy Home.  I colored and used WOS on the kite, the child’s clothing, and the dog.  One of the free Sale-A-Bration items is “Sky is the Limit” and it has the “You send me soaring” message that I incorporated.  You may be able to see the glimmery shine on the Rose Red and Blushing Bride arrows.  This glimmer is from WOS.  The arrows were punched out and the WOS applied.  It dries very quickly which is helpful.

2016.01.27 Valentine msg 1 I tried to be creative with my messages and incorporate the heart theme.  These 3 sentiments were taken from old sets that were retired long, long ago.

2016.01.27 Valentine msg 2On this sentiment, the flower and part of the clothing were colored and WOS applied for interest.  The 2 DSP hearts in the lower right corner were also decorated with WOS.

2016.01.27 Real msg 3

The sentiment used on this card includes a tiny mouse holding a tiny heart and saying “Valentine (please be mine).”  The flowers on the sentiment have been colored and “glimmered” as have the hearts on the bottom right corner.

I hope you can come to our February Stamp Camp and have fun with this card and Wink of Stella. There is another view I did not do a sample for.  The image is of a grassy slope with an empty park bench and would incorporate a “missing you” sentiment.  You can create the  Happy Home card in a very simple fashion, or as elaborate as you desire!  I was happy to see Stampin’ Up come out with this stamp set that uses the Hearth and Home Thinlits dies.

The dates/times for the February Stamp Camp are 2 – 9 PM on Thursday February 4th, 2 – 9 PM on Friday February 5th, and 9 AM – 4 PM on Saturday February 6th.  Come when it is convenient for you.  If you can let me know ahead of time which date/time you might come, it is helpful, but not required.  The cost remains $12 and we will continue to make 4 cards/projects at each stamp camp.  Feel free to contact me with questions. The next card will be posted on the blog tomorrow – January 30th so make sure you check back to see what we will be doing.
