BIRTHDAY CAKE SURPRISE

Time to use the Party Pop-Up Thinlit Dies again – but this time with a special surprise inside!

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 005The focus of the card front is the birthday cake thinlit die from the Party Pop-Up set.  The cake can be used as a pop-up inside the card, but I chose to feature it on the front.  It is popped up on dimensionals and rolled up glue dots and the candles are colored with gold Wink of Stella.  Glimmer, Mint Macaroon, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo balloons have been punched out with the Party Pack balloon punch and adhered over several DSP balloons.  The DSP is from the It’s My Party pack.  But where is the surprise?

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 006See the honeycomb balloon?  This honeycomb circle comes in Mint Macaroon, Blushing Bride, and white.  By placing the honeycomb balloon on the fold of the pop-up, the balloon opens and closes as the card opens and closes.  Two glimmer balloons were added and all the balloon strings came from the Sale-A-Brations Honeycomb Happiness stamp set.  Honeycomb Happiness also features a cute ice cream cone that can easily accommodate a honeycomb circle.

We’ve seen 4 birthday celebration cards for April Stamp Camp.  Remember to let me know if you would prefer more of one card and less of another.  You can choose to do any 4 cards.  Just let me know so I can custom prepare your kit.  As a reminder, dates/times for April Stamp Camp are  Thursday April 7 from 12:30 pm to 9 pm, Friday April 8 from 2 pm to 9 pm, and Saturday April 9 from 9 am to 4 PM.  Or you can choose to pick up a kit for the same price of $12.00 and complete it in the leisure of your home.

JUST FOR YOU!!!

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 001“Botanicals for You” has become a favorite of mine – especially in this Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder, and Crushed Curry color scheme.  This is a very simple card with flowers, rhinestones and butterflies surrounding the Basic Black “just for you” sentiment.  The nice thing about this card is that it is perfect for birthdays – and anniversaries – and get well wishes – and any other occasion.  However, the nicest thing is that it was free – part of  the Sale-A-Bration promotion!

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 002The sentiment “…on your special day” is part of the “Botanicals for You” set and I chose to add the Happy Birthday message.  A few flowers and a butterfly coordinate the sentiment layer with the card front.  Needless to say, a few flowers stamped on the envelope will send a happy message to the recipient.

We’ve seen 3 of our 4 birthday cards for April Stamp Camp.  What will the next one look like?  Check back for the fourth blog to see what is in store!

Don’t forget – April Stamp Camp will be held on Thursday April 7th from 12:30 – 9 PM, on Friday April 8th from 2 to 9 PM, and on Saturday April 9th from 9 AM to 4 PM. Let me know if you choose to do more of 1 card and less of another.

BALLOON BIRTHDAY

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 007I saw a card very similar to this one created by Brenda Keenan, a SU demonstrator in San Jose, California.  We haven’t done much with Mint Macaroon since SU came out with the color, so I thought this would be a great time to use this lovely pastel shade.  The Birthday Bouquet DSP provided the muted balloon background.  In trying to stretch the 2 12X12 sheets, I chose to cut them at a 3” width.  This gave 16 DSP cuts.  The Balloon Celebration stamp set contains the balloon strings, outlines, dotted filler plus many other images.  I stamped the small and large dotted filler, then stamped the balloon outline around the filler.  I left one smaller balloon plain and punched them out with the new Balloon Bouquet Punch.   A bit of Wink of Stella added some sparkle as did the 3 rhinestones.  I used the Sale-A-Bration Big Day stamp set for my Happy Birthday message.

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 008This is an original idea for the sentiment.  The Party Pants stamp set has several small sentiments that fit perfectly in the larger balloon image from Balloon Celebration.  Note the cute balloon string that reads “let us celebrate.”  Too cute!

Hope to see you at April Stamp Camp on April 7th, 8th and 9th.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

SUNBURST BIRTHDAY

Last month we used the Sunburst Thinlit Die and experienced how easy it was to make a card using this wonderful tool.  For April’s Stamp Camp, we are going to move up a level!  Try to ignore the crooked “Happy Birthday to  you” center below!  Maybe I need new glasses!

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 003This sunburst features 3 colors of paper instead of the 2 we used last month.  We start with a Melon Mambo base and add 2 coordinating pieces of It’s My Party DSP.  The top DSP is cut a bit larger and is slightly rotated before it is adhered to the top layer and trimmed.  Can you see the little curly cues, stars, and other little shapes?  Wonder where they come from?

2016-03-27 2016-03-27 004Welcome to the Party Pop-Up Thinlits Dies!  The die-cut “Hip Hip Hooray” provides us with little embellishments we can use on this and other celebratory cards.  I added several embellishments and 2 balloons to further accessorize the card.  So how do we do this?  First, we make sure to use the Precision Base Plate for a nice clean cut.  Second, we make sure the arrows on the die are exactly on the fold creases before we run the die thru the Big Shot several times.  Third, we use the Big Shot Die Brush to miraculously remove all those itty bitty pieces!  Before we adhere the inner cs to the card, we gently tent the “Hooray” portion so that it will tent out when the card closes.  Pretty cool!

This is just one of the Happy Birthday cards we will be making at the April Stamp Camp.  I hope you can come.  Dates and times:  Thursday April 7th from 12:30 PM to 9 PM; Friday April 8th from 2 PM to 9 PM; Saturday April 9th from 9 AM to 4 PM.  If you can let me know if you care coming, and what day, it is helpful but not required.  If you prefer doing more of 1 card, and less of another, let me know when you have made your decision and I will custom prepare your kit for any 4 cards you wish to do.

Hope your Easter was wonderful!
