Valentine Eclipse

I promised we would do an eclipse or shadow card in February.  You can choose which one you choose to do.

“I heart you” is our first sample.  The fabulous Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) gives us a great background.  This DSP is loaded with gold foil and is bright and shiny.  The background for the die cut “I” and heart is Blushing Bride glimmer paper that I pulled from my archives.  Foam adhesive strips are used to “pop-up” the “I” and the heart.  The heart is from the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits Dies.  The sparkly Powder Pink bow and trim provides balance for the glimmer “you”.  This tinsel trim is also available in gold as you will see in our second sample.  Finally, 3 Berry Burst adhesive backed sequins add additional color and dimension.

I shot a picture of the message layer before I adhered it in the card.  the Sunshine Wishes heart is die cut in gold and a small Calypso Coral banner is popped up and reads “happy valentine’s day).  I added clear Wink of Stella to the banner to make it shine.  A thin strip of the DSP at the bottom of the message provides card continuity.

 

The second sample uses a different pattern from the Painted with Love DSP.  You can use either pattern for your card.   Blushing Bride glimmer paper is used again as the background for the eclipse heart.  However, “amazing” is die cut in gold foil and is adhered to the heart.  “amazing” and “you” are  part of the “Celebrate you Thinlits Dies” and are free with a $100 purchase (before tax and shipping).  This is part of the Sale-A-Bration promotion – see page 17 in the promotion brochure.  The gold tinsel trim is used here and the 3 Berry Burst sequins really pop. 

Now we’ve seen all 4 cards for February Stamp Camp:  Hedgehog Hugs, Sure Do Love You, Valentine Panda, and Valentine Eclipse.  February Stamp Camp is February 1 and 2 from 2 – 7 pm, and February 3 from 9 am – 4 pm.  If these dates/times are not convenient, let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.   Please let me know what day you plan on coming so I have adequate card stock cut.  The cost remains the same as 2017 – $12.00 which includes supplies, tools, water, and soda.

Valentine Panda

Oh My Gosh – I just love the Party Pandas!  And the set is FREE!  You can’t buy this set; you can only get it thru the Sale-A-Bration celebration.  Spend $50 (before tax and shipping) and this set can be yours – or any set found in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

This simple red, black and white card is so cute and perfect for a child or an adult.  The pandas have all been pre-cut with my Christmas present – the Scan’N’Cut!  This great tool cut out the pandas, the hedge-hogs and even the circles and scallop circles.  The doily adds texture and interest.  However, the majority of the Stampin’ Up doilies have one area that is “chopped” off.  So, I have learned to work around the area by hiding it.  Thus, the small black lace bow toward the top of the card.  The sentiment banner comes from Bloomin’ Love set.  There are several sentiments to choose from.

In this second sample, you will see several changes.  The DSP is from last year and there are many patterns to choose from.  The reverse side is white with a red pattern.  The little red heart on the letter Panda is carrying is smaller than the previous sample.  The first sample has a small red glimmer heart adhered to the letter.  Another difference is that the panda does not appear to be as dark as the first sample.  The first panda has black Wink of Stella applied to the black portion of the bear.  The second panda is only the stamped image. 

Isn’t this a card you would love to make?  The February stamp camp dates/times are February 1st and 2nd from 2 – 7 pm, and February 3rd from 9 am – 4 pm.  You may notice that I have changed the 2018 stamp camp hours.  This allows me to spend additional time with my mother.  She will be 100 in July!  However, if you need to come earlier or later, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate the time best for you!

Sure Do Love You

Welcome back Crafters.  Our second project for February Stamp Camp features the recently retired Quilt Builder Framelits Dies and the new Painted with Love Specialty Designer Series Paper.

This valentine card features a Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Powder Pink, and gold foil color scheme.  A retired heart embossing folder serves as the background for a scattering of hearts punched from the DSP.  This specialty DSP has many gold foil accents on one side with a brushstroke imagery on the other side.  The quilt image is die cut with in the DSP with a Melon Mambo frame, Rich Razzleberry background and gold foil frame.  The banner message is stamped in Melon Mambo and popped up with dimensionals.  This card is perfect for a favorite loved one.

Our second sample may be more appropriate for a close friend.  The retired (but still available on the Clearance Rack) Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder adds dimension to the background.  The quilt art is identical to the first sample with the exception of a smaller gold foil heart.  Four hearts are scattered on the background compared to seven on the previous sample.  The sentiment “Just for You” can be used for any anyone – a neighbor, co-worker, friend, secret pal, etc.  You can choose the embossing folder of your choice, message, and number of hearts to embellish your card.   How you create your card is up to you.  There are dies and punches for all the art work so no fussy cutting is needed.

Happy 2018

Hi Crafters!  I’m back for another year of Stampin’Up and crafting with you!  We are starting the year in February – February 1, 2, and 3.  Let’s take a look at the Hedgehog Hugs card we will be doing:

New laptop for me (hand-me-down from a son) so bear with me .  This is such a cute card – much cuter than the image we see.  Done in an Early Espresso and Real Red color theme, the softly water colored hedgehog on the right is offering the other hedgehog a single flower.  The message, which is hard to read here, says “Sending hedgehugs your way…”

I have been using my Christmas present Scan’n’Cut for the cutting and it has been a learning curve.  I have since learned to add a slight margin around the images so my second sample will be a tinge different. For one thing, the stem for the flower will be a bit wider.   I used the new Stampin’Up Stampin’ Blends for my water coloring.  These are great pens for water coloring.  My mother actually wanted her own set!  The beautiful Wood Textures Designer Paper gives our hedgehogs a perfect background.  You will choose the wood pattern of your choice.  A bit of burlap ribbon and a few red glimmer hearts finish the card.

This is such a wonderful time of year for Stampin’ Up.
