This Thanksgiving card is a combination of the old and the new. The art work stamp is 4+ years used and the sentiment is 8+ years used and is mounted on a wooden block! Do you remember the days of the wooden blocks?
The Cajun Craze card stock, Plaid Tidings DSP and message stamp are all very current. Plaid Tidings DSP can be used for so many different cards. There are many different combinations to choose from and picking your favorite is not always easy.
The artwork is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut with Layering Ovals. The Cajun Craze layer highlights the base card and colors within the plaids. Stampin’ Blends are used for coloring the fall scene. I did experiment coloring with Wink of Stella that had been tipped in ink. Talk about shine! I put a drop of ink refill on one of my acrylic blocks and swished it around with my Wink of Stella brush then used it to color part of my artwork. Debbie suggests pushing the block into your ink pad to keep from wasting an entire drop of ink. I ended up using this technique for the pumpkins. You can clean your brush by wiping it back and forth until it is clear or spraying a bit of water on the brush.
The sentiment and artwork are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals – a crafter’s best friend. The copper trim ribbon adds a touch of texture and interest to the card front. A 1/2 or 3/4” strip of the plaid DSP was saved to adhere to the message layer.
Matching leaves are also punched and adhered to the message layer. This is a new Tim Holtz punch and I love the detail. The message I chose is from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set and is stamped in Cajun Craze.
This is the final card offering for November Stamp Camp which will be on November 5th from 10am to 4pm, November 6th from 10am to 4pm and November 7th from 9am to 4pm.
Did you know I have gift certificates available? These are great for holiday giving. They must, however, be redeemed thru me. Let me know if you are interested in purchasing the perfect gift for crafters.
December Stamp Camp will be on December 3, 4 and 5 and will be my first ever card buffet. There will be multiple cards to choose from – holiday and everyday. Each card will be housed in a box with instructions and all the pieces and supplies. You simply take the box of your choosing back to your work station and craft away. Then you clean the items you used, replace the box and choose another one. The cards will be priced between $3 and $3.50. You can make a total of one card or as many as you want.
As the COVID numbers increase, please stay safe. If you don’t feel comfortable coming to the house to craft, we can always do a kit for you. Remember – handmade comes from the heart.
Blessings, Rosemary – (h)630.759.3089 – (c)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
