GILDED BLOSSOMS

Gilding is a new technique for me.  I’ve learned quite a bit working with the gold leaf and I will continue to learn.  One item I read recently suggested wearing cotton gloves.  So if you have an old pair of cotton gloves, please bring them along.  The gold leafing is VERY lightweight and likes to fly.  I would suggest no long sleeves, or rolled up sleeves, and not wearing your Sunday Go-To-Meeting garb!  This card will not be available for those of you who prefer to have kits.

03.30.21 Gilded Blossoms #1Forever Blossoms is the lovely stamp set that gives us this graceful stem of blossoms.  Beauty Abounds provides the butterfly and the sentiment.  The process is actually quite simple.  You prepare the Blackberry Bliss cs by rubbing the powdery Embossing Buddy over it to keep stray bits of ink from sticking.  You stamp the images (set up on the Stamparatus) with VersaMark – you may want to stamp twice.

03.30.21 Gilded Glossoms #2Heat and Stick Powder is sprinkled over the VersaMark with excess removed.  The Heat and Stick Powder is heated with the Hot Gun until it becomes shiny.  The card is then pressed face down in a container of Gilding Foil.  The back of the card is rubbed to insure gilding foil is adhering to the sticky powder.  Excess foil is then gently removed into the container.  Then you will use your finger to rub, rub rub gently over the gilded images to remove all the excess.  Its exciting to see the shape take place.  You can add foil to any area that is sticky.  A sponge is used to GENTLY remove additional foil until the images meet your satisfaction.  I’m interested in seeing if the cotton gloves help as the cotton would be a bit coarser than the finger.  Finally, you reheat the images with the heat gun to set the process.

03.30.21 Gilded Blossoms msgWouldn’t the gilding technique make a beautiful Christmas tree?

The message layer is simply embellished with 3 Blackberry Bliss butterflies from the Beauty Abounds stamp set.

Gilded Blossoms is our final creation for April Stamp Camp. As a reminder, this card is not available for kits.  Please, please, please let me know as soon as possible which cards you wish to do and what day you would like to come.  You have no idea how much easier it is for me to have this information earlier versus last minute.

Don’t forget to check out the retiring items, many of which have been discounted. Go to my SU store and press on specials Rosemary’s Stampin’Up Store. The new catalog is being sent out on May 4th.  If you have received a catalog in the past, I will have ordered one for you.

HEY CHICK

03.30.21 Hey Chick dVThis is such a fun card!  The Hey Chick stamp set was a Sale-a-Bration set in 2020.  I got the set and never did anything with it!  I will be giving the stamp set away after April Stamp Camp so if you would like it, please let me know.  The dies became available for purchase this year and what cute dies they are!  You see the stump, corn stalks, ears of corn, a sign and there is also a ranch house I chose not to use.  You can color the chicks in the Stampin Blends of your choosing.  The new Blending Brushes are used to create a sun and add color to the sky.

03.30.21 Hey Chick not favClouds are added to the second sample as I discovered when you spill a drop of Tombo Mono Aqua Liquid Glue on card stock colored with Stampin Blends, the color disappears.  So, the clouds covered my oops!  They will be available for your use.  I love the little ears of corn and the corn stalks.  And you can cut all 4 ears of corn with one run through the Big Shot.  The “have a happy day!” sentiment on the sign will be pre-stamped for you. The sign and wood stump are die cut from retired wood patterned paper.

03.30.21 Hey Chick not fav msgYou can be quite creative on your message layer.  You can have corn scattered on the ground, add extra eggs, or whatever you choose.  The message layer can become a second piece of art work!

Such fun!  One card left to post!  It is a new technique and will not be available for kits.  The final card is a hands-on card.  Please don’t dress in your Sunday Go-To-Church clothes and please don’t wear long sleeves.  Are you wondering what this card could be possibly be?  I will post it in the morning so check back then.

A Touch of Red

03.30.21 Red with bowA Touch of Red is a fun-fold card.  The thick white card is actually 9 3/4 X 4 1/4 and is scored at 5 1/2.  The Designer Paper is from the True Love series we used for Valentine’s Day.  A single daisy has been colored with Real Red Stampin Blends and a red rhinestone placed in the center.  The second layer of the card is black, and the top layer is white or DSP.  This is a great layout for 4×4 pieces of DSP.  The sentiment is stamped in the bottom area and a red and white bow adds texture.

03.30.21 Red no bowThe second sample is slightly different.  Here we see a large and very small daisy colored red and 2 red rhinestones used.  The attached leaf is colored Call Me clover.  You can choose whatever you choose to color.  The theme of the card is using just a touch of red.   The sentiment on the second sample is larger and no ribbon is used.  This is a cute, quick card and can be used for most occasions.

Don’t forget to let me know what cards you wish to do and which day you are coming.  The cost remains $14 for any 4 cards and $3.00 for each additional card.

Stay tuned for some barnyard chickens!

SEASHELLS

Hi crafters!  It’s time for some paper crafting.  We are creating a fun fold, 2 different techniques and some farmyard chickens!

03.30.21. Seashells embossedSeashells is the easiest card ever!  You start with a 5 3/8 X 4 1/8 piece of Seaside Spray card stock.  With a sponge, you apply a very thin coat of White Frost Shimmer paint,  While it is drying, you can stamp your sentiment and message.  Once dry, you simply run the frosted pearlescent sheet thru the Big Shot in the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder and adhere it to your card base!  Voila – you have a BEAUTIFUL card.  Simply die cut your sentiment, adhere to the card with Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon, add 3 pearls and you are DONE!  An elegant card that is also so very simple!

03.30.21 Seashells colored mesThe message layer can be stamped however you wish.  The message used here is from the Friends are like Seashells Stamp Set.  With the bundle, came some beautiful sticker sheets in the colors used here.  The seagrass shown was hand cut from another view.  The message layer can be done several different ways and YOU are the artist!

03.30.21 Seashells cutoutPerhaps you would prefer a card that highlights the sea world with all the lovely fronds and grasses. If so, you simple take your pearlescent Rosemary’s StampinUp Store one single piece and is easily adhered to the card front.  The sentiment is again adhered with Seaside Spray ribbon and 3 pearls colored with Stampin Blends are added to the picture!

03.30.21. Seashells coloredBut perhaps you would like a card with more color.  Although more time consuming that the previous seashell cards, 3 colored seashells are added to this card front.  A few embossed seashell fronts have been run in Blushing Bride, So Saffron, and Soft Sea Foam.  These are available for you to cut out shells with your snips, as well as fronds and grasses to use on your message layer. The shells are adhered to the card front, the sentiment is adhered as shown in the previous cards, and 3 pearls are added.  3 different cards that all start the same way!  A new technique is learned!

April Stamp Camp is right around the corner!  April 8th from 10am – 4pm, April 9th from 10am – 4pm, and April 10th from 9am – 4pm.  I would like to keep our maximum attendees to 4 for one more month!  By May, I’m hoping many of us will be fully vaccinated and we can craft in a more relaxed setting.  I know a couple of you have received both vaccines.  I have my second one on April 6th so I am hoping I don’t have a reaction and will be fit as a fiddle by Thursday April 8th!

The retiring list for the current catalog is out and can be reached by pressing Rosemary’s StampinUp Store.  Then press SPECIALS and ASK ME FOR DETAILS, and you will be taken to the retiring items.  Many items are discounted.  The bundles that are not marked retiring will no longer be sold as bundles with the 10% savings.  Sadly, the White Frost Shimmer Paint is on the Retired List.  This is what we use on the cards shown above.  I checked 5 minutes ago and it was not sold out and selling for $8.  Amazon is selling the same product for $12.05.  If you want a bottle or 2, let me know and I will include it in my next order IF it is still available.

Please let me know which cards you wish to do, and what day you plan on coming.  Right now there are 2 openings on Thursday and Friday/Saturday are fully open.  But masks and hand sanitizers please.

Looking forward to seeing you!  Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
