IN THE MOMENT

04.21.22 Idn the MomentI love this girly stamp set!  “SOMETIMES THE MOST PRODUCTIVE THING YOU CAN DO IS RELAX!”  Haven’t we all reached this point?  A cup of coffee and gazing out the window is simply all we have left in us!  I don’t have a window seat, but I often sit at the patio door luxuriating in the warm sun and watching the birds fight at the bird feeder.  This scene has been stamped on the Sale-A-Brations Simply Marbleous Pool Party that I copied in the printer on a light setting.  The image is colored with Stampin’ Blends, die cut and layered on a Bermuda Bay glimmer scallop circle.  The sentiment is also layered on the glimmer cs.  The bookbinder edge features Bermuda Bay striped DSP and thin gold-edged ribbon.   The bookbinder fun fold gives us a card with a bookish feel.

04.21.22 In the Moment Wine

Our second sample features our lady peering over a railing with a glass of wine while birds fly on the horizon.  Is she on a ship looking over the railing or in her yard?  is she sipping pinot noir or burgundy?  I prefer thinking she is on a small ship touring the Great Lakes with a glass of Pinot Grigio in her hand.  Like the sample above, our image is colored with Stampin’ Blends, die cut and layered on a Bermuda Bay scallop circle.

04.21.22 In the Moment Message LayerThe message layer is simple – a strip of the DSP and a bird colored Bermuda Bay with Stampin Blends.  Ready for your message of choice.

As I am taking the month of June off, make sure you plan ahead for needed birthday cards.  We won’t be doing regular cards again until August as July will be Christmas in July.

I hope you can make it for our Cinco de Mayo Stamp Camp.  We will celebrate with tortilla chips and salsa!  The dates and times:  Thursday May 5 from 10am to 4pm, Friday May 6th from 10am to 4pm and Saturday May 7th from 9am to 4pm.  The cost remains $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for each additional card.  Cards To Go are available.  Feel free to bring a drink to sustain you but we will have water and sodas as always.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know which cards you wish to make and what day works best for you to come.  If you are running on a tight schedule or need a bit of help with the cards, please make me aware.

SPRINGTIME GARDENING

042122 Springtime GardeningWhat a lousy spring we are having.  Usually I’m so excited by this time of the year – flowers, green trees, lots of buds and new growth on perennials.  But not this year.  However, this gardening apron helps put me in the mood.  This is a darling set from Tonic Studios.  Debbi designed the card in Blackberry Bliss and Highland Heather with the Flowering Fields DSP.  The  silver metallic garden tools peek out from a matching apron.pocket. Purple grosgrain ribbon and matte dots provide the finishing touches.

042122 Springtime Gardening 2The second sample of Springtime Gardening is very similar to the first.  The silver metallic garden tools are hard to see but are definitely there.  A different sentiment and shape is used, and a lighter purple ribbon is used as apron trim. There are many small sentiments that can be used here. In addition, green dots are used to hold the ribbon in place.  Both card bases have been embossed with a retired leaf embossing folder.

04.21.22 Springtime Gardenint Message LayerThe message layer features a thin strip of DSP, a small tulip, and SURPRISE – a packet of flower seeds.  We have a nice assortment of seed packets but ask that you be kind if you can’t get the flower seeds you want.  May will be a great time to plant.  This card and seed packet are sure to be a pick-me-up for most anyone.

I will be taking the month of June off.  We will come together again for Christmas in July on Thursday-Saturday, July 14, 15, 16.  August will resume with the first Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the month – August 4th, 5th, and 6th.  We have some gnome surprises planned for fall and Christmas time.

Stay tuned for In the Moment

SENDING HUGS

04.21.22 Sending HugsHave you given any hugs lately.  As COVID has abated somewhat and I remain fully vaccinated, I have started sharing some hugs.  The Layering Hugs Dies are a perfect way to give a hug!  Debbi chose to use Polished Pink and Pink Pirouette in designing this card.  She used the Dainty Diamonds Embossing Folder to add background interest.  The dry embossing is impossible to see in this view.   The Pink Pirouette HUGS are framed with the Polished Pink letters.  The delicate flowers and leaves surrounding the HUGS exude softness and cheer. To add a bit of glitz, Debbi added 2 pink glimmer butterflies die cut from the Daffodil Dies.  This adds just the right amount of sparkle.

04.21.22 Sending Hugs Message LayerThe message layer is highlighted by 2 additional butterflies and is waiting for the message of your choice.  You may want to check the message table as I have increased my message stamps over the past few months.  I hope you enjoy this card as much as I do!

ON THE HORIZON

04.21.22 On the Horizon Purple SkyWe haven’t had a masculine card in some time.  The New Horizons 6X6 DSP creates manly cards very easily!  Here, we’ve taken Sahara Sand card stock and framed it with Evening Evergreen.  Our New Horizons DSP is cut in half to 2 – 3” scenes.  I then trimmed the DSP down to 4 1/4 X 3.  The tree cluster and sentiment are stamped in Evening Evergreen which matches the die-cut fence.  Several posts of the fence are adhered to the artwork, the birds are stamped in black and PRESTO – we have a masculine card!

04.21.22 On the Horizon mistyWhen cut in half, the DSP gives us two slightly different scenes as we see here.  However, the technique stays the same as the previous card.  I chose HAPPY BIRTHDAY and JUST FOR YOU sentiments but there are many others you could choose.  I pulled out the Old World (seen to the right) and Painted Texture (seen above) 3-D Embossing Folders to give an uneven and eye-catching background to the Sahara Sand cs.

04.21.22 On the Horizon Message LayerThe message layer features a strip of the New Horizons DSP, a cluster of plants stamped in Evening Evergreen, and birds flying off the card stock.  To me, the birds on the art work and message layer give a carefree feeling of taking flight or fleeing.  This is a simple but WOW card perfect for any occasion including sympathy.

Cinco de Mayo Stamp Camp will be May 5th from 10am to 4pm, May 6th from 10am to 4pm, and May 7th from 9am to 4pm,  Tortilla chips and salsa will be served – hopefully with no salsa stains on our cards!  I will be taking the month of June off from Stamp Camp and we will get together again on July 14, 15, and 16 for Christmas in July.

As a reminder, the current “big” catalog expires the end of April.  Check out the retiring items, many of which are on sale, here Retiring Stampin’Up items

Stay tuned for a big HUG!
