ADDENDUM–CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

Somehow I lost the message layer for Christmas Lights in the original Blog Post!

The Lights Aglow DSP includes a pattern than has 2 gold framed  circles and 2 gold framed squares.  These framed images have been die cut  (some with scallops, some without) and gold embossed with “Happy Christmas”.  The gold embossing does not show up well in the images below. Sorry about the confusion!  Rosemary08.01.22 Christmas Lights Square Scalloped Msg. Layer

AUGUST STAMP CAMP–CHRISTMAS LIGHTS

08.01.22 Christmas Lights To GoFor the Paper Rose Stamp Camps, we always plan one Christmas card for August, September, October, November and of course – December.  For August Stamp Camp, we chose the Christmas Lights bundle and the Lights Aglow specialty Designer Series paper.  This Cherry Cobbler card is layered with white card stock and a strip of the Lights Aglow DSP,  The tree is die cut on another pattern of the DSP and framed with a Cherry Cobbler tree that was cut on the Scan’n Cut.  The tree and DSP strip are embellished with gold glitter dots, gold metallic pearls and brass die cut star and snowflake images.  The sentiment is from the new Christmas Banners bundle.  I chose “’TIS THE SEASON” and stamped it in Cherry Cobbler on the banner which was also stamped in Cherry Cobbler, die cut and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

08.01.22 Christmas Lights GlitzyFor those of you who prefer more dazzle, you can add as many brass metallic die cut snowflakes and stars as you wish to die cut.  This second sample really sparkles.  Brass metallic card stock was chosen for these die cut images as it shines more than the gold. This sparkly card is not available for Cards to Go.

The Lights Aglow specialty designer series paper is truly as it has gold on one side of each pattern,  There is a pattern that is perfect for the message layer.  There are 4 patterns per sheet – 2 circle images and 2 square images.  I started out die cut some simple circles and squares and then experimented with some scallop circles and squares.  I then embossed “HAPPY CHRISTMAS” in gold on each one.

Please please please let us know which day you are coming and which cards you wish to do.  Let us know if you need assistance with the coloring and adhering the small images.  Also let us know if you are unable to attend and need Cards to Go.  We don’t cut much paper before your orders come in so please be as prompt as you can.  As Christmas in July was 2 weeks ago, August Stamp Camp Blog is running a bit behind.

As no one guessed correctly for our Christmas in July Challenge – we are trying again:  which card do you think might be the most popular and which card do you think might be the least popular.  Winners will get a free gift.   Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

AUGUST STAMP CAMP–EVERY CHAPTER

08.01.22 Every Chapter Rhinestone GlassesEvery Chapter is a wonderful card for a friend – birthday, thinking of you, almost any occasion.  The artwork is a large stamp that has been cut on the trusty Scan’n Cut.  Debbie used Stampin’ Blends  to color the artwork. The Background is Layering Designs Vellum. Because adhesive shows when vellum is displayed against a colored background, a Cinnamon Cider frame is die-cut and the vellum is adhered to the frame which can then be adhered to the Misty Moonlight card front.  Adhesive can also be applied to the area of the vellum that will be covered by the artwork,  Stampin’ Dimensionals are used to adhere the artwork to the vellum covered card front.

08.01.11 Every Chapter No RhinestoneThe second sample has 2 major differences when compared to the first.  Can you find the differences?  The easy difference is the coloring of the “I ENJOY” book.  Debbie colored this book in Tahitian Tide for the the first sample and Cinnamon Cider for the second sample.  However, the BIG difference between the two cards is the rhinestones on the eye glasses – perfect for a glitzy friend. There are also 3 champagne rhinestones on the card.  You can use whatever colors you wish to color your books.  A strip of denim ribbon which signifies a bookmark is layered behind the artwork.  The ribbon is trimmed with banner-shaped ends.  The message layer is embellished with a strip of the Layering Designs Vellum.

The last card choice for August Stamp Camp is Christmas Lights and it should be appearing in a few minutes.  Please remember to text, e-mail or call me with your card choices for August Stamp Camp on August 4, 5 and 6.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

AUGUST STAMP CAMP–LET’S SET SAIL

08.02.22 Let's Set Sail FlatLet’s Set Sail provides us with the perfect opportunity to use a different stamping technique.  Our sunset background is done with painters tape!  The colors used are So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral.  Masking tape is a bit narrower and could also be used.  A piece of tape is placed over the open ink pad and lightly pressed with your finger.  The tape is then placed on your white card stock and again, lightly pressed with your finger.  The tape does not stick and is easily pulled off.  This process is repeated with the next color and you overlap the previous color with your tape.  This is repeated with all 4 colors.  A 2 5/8 circle is die cut and stamped with 6 black stamped sea gulls.  Sea Gulls are also stamped on the front card layer.  A Merry Merlot sailboat is stamped and punched producing 3 images that are adhered to your card front.

08.01.22 Let's Set Sail DimensionalsThe second sample has slightly different coloring.  I actually prefer the first sample as it has more Calypso Coral.  The sailboat in this sample has the sails popped up on Mini Dimensionals which gives the card additional depth.  A single red rhinestone adds a bit of glitz.  The message is stamped in Merry Merlot.

Let's Set Sail Msg. LayerThe envelope and message layer feature a stamp from Wetlands – an older stamp set from my archives.  The little Merry Merlot sandpipers scurrying across a sandy beach are reminiscent of a day spent sailing.

Thus far, we have seen pansy and masculine birthday cards.  What’s next?  Is this a card you would like to make for August Stamp Camp?  Please let me know which cards you would like to make and which day you would like to come – August 4th, 5th or 6th.  Or come all 3 days and we can have a party!

AUGUST STAMP CAMP PANSY PATCH

08.01.22 Pansy Patch Fresh FresesiaPansy Patch is one of my favorite sets!  I purchased this bundle 2 years ago and with the design assistance from Andrea, we are FINALLY putting it to happy use.  I am very fond of the Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss color combination.  The lovely Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper (DSP) is no longer current although I did see it was available on eBay and Etsy.

08.01.22 Pancy Patch Blackberry BlissThe perfect pansy and leaves are die cut from the DSP.  Fresh Freesia 3/8” ribbon is a perfect match and 3 small butterflies in Blackberry Bliss and Fresh Freesia provide our artwork with the ideal finish.  The Scalloped Contours Dies die cut perfect backgrounds for the artwork on both the front and message layers. I can’t decide which card I prefer.  The top sample is lovely but the Blackberry Bliss really pops with the change of ribbon and the reversal of the butterfly colors. A simple gold rhinestone adds a bit of sparkle to the flower.

08.01.22 Pansy Patch Message LayerThe message layer is crisp and charming.  The Scalloped Contours Dies again provide a perfect background,  A small DSP die-cut pansy with 2 leaves are the ideal embellishment.

August Stamp Camp is August 4th from 10am – 4pm, August 5th from 10am – 4pm, and August 6th from 9am-4pm  In addition to the birthday card seen here, we will be making a friend card, a Christmas card and a masculine birthday card.  The choices are up to you.  Please please please let me know which cards you choose to do and which day(s) you would like to come.  I am running late on getting the blog as we were just together 2 weeks ago creating Christmas in July.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
