Lots of SWEET for September – SWEET Candy Canes and now SWEET Strawberries

Sweet sweet strawberries – and this is the season!  Our sweet strawberry card comes from the Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set and the Strawberry Builder punch.  I love the crisp Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green and white color scheme.  Once again, the scallop contour dies are used.  The Bright’s 6X6 DSP provides an appealing background pattern.  The strawberries are stamped red on red with a matching DSP calyx.  Several red rhinestones, a poppy butterfly and a DSP flower embellish the card.

Crafters attending in person will have the opportunity to do the strawberries as shown above (red on red) or as shown in the sample to the right (red on white).  When working with the white cs, the base strawberry requires inking and stamping  twice, and inking and stamping the seeds once.  This strawberry requires a bit more work.  The Strawberry Builder punch gives an excellent, crisp punch.  This is an easy, fun card to make.

The message layer features the second largest of the scallop contour die.  Nestled in the corner, we find another sweet strawberry – red on red for cards to go and open choice for stamp camp attendees.

PERFECT PLANTS

The Plentiful Plants stamp set makes such a calming card!  This card is perfect for absolutely any occasion.  The interest with the paper lattice, the macrame plant hanger, the rustic pots, even the plants themselves is phenomenal.  The String of Pearls is such an unusual plant.  Mossy Meadow was the green Designer Andrea chose for this card.  Early Espresso and Crumb Cake round out the color scheme.

We have 2 patterns of retired Garden Lane green DSP we are using. The Banners Pick A Punch give us the perfect banner ends for the sentiment.  Wink of Stella allows us to highlight the greenery and pots as desired.  We have 2 patterns of retired Garden Lane green DSP we are using.  The paper lattice has been trimmed with the remaining piece used on the message layer.  The chocolate twine was an Amazon purchase and is perfect with the plant hanger.

As noted above, the message layer features the remaining paper lattice embellishing a strip of DSP.  Another rustic pot and plant finish the layer. 

As Debbie is in the process of moving, and not able to assist as much, we are asking your assistance in stamping and die-cutting your plants and pots.

As a reminder, September Stamp Camp is Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, September 1, 2 and 3 from 10am – 4pm.  You can mark your calendars now for October Stamp Camp – October 6, 7 and 8 from 10am – 4pm.

KINDEST GNOMES

Gnomes are so cute and remain quite popular.  The Stampin’ Up Kindest Gnomes set can be used for everyday and for Christmas – especially when combined with the Storybook Gnomes DSP which has several darling Christmas themes.  I used my new Split Textures Dies for this card.  I love the way the openings captivate your attention – especially with the Sunshine and Rainbows DSP background.  The Pool Party top layer has also been run thru the Big Shot with the Tasteful Textures Embossing folder leaving lots of interesting texture. 

The Gnomes and Mushroom Huts are part of the Storybook Gnomes DSP and have been die cut and adhered to the card front.  The gnomes and mushroom huts vary in color.    The Call Me Clover grass and flower image come from the Gnomes Dies.  The top flower is colored with Mango Melody Stampin Blends, and the flower to the right with Flirty Flamingo – colors found in the DSP.  Wink of Stella has been applied judiciously to add a bit of bling.  The sentiment is from the Framed Occasions Sentiments stamp set and was stamped in Mango Melody.  The sentiment was die cut with Beautiful Shapes Dies as was the Mango Melody frame.

The message layer features a strip of the matching DSP and a stamped Gnome.  Like the Gnome on the envelope, a few strokes from some Stampin’ Blends, and you can have some colorful fellows!

SWEET CANDY CANES

I had so much fun with these cards.  The candy canes are found on the Sweetest Christmas DSP and simply need to be die cut.  And I absolutely love the diagonal die which I used in red and white adhered in opposing directions for  these cards.  This is the red and green sample.  The diagonal die is part of Candy Canes Dies set.

The green and white candy canes have the same layout as the sample above.  The Call Me Clover branches come from the Christmas Banners Dies.  I also found 2 pine branch dies that had been sent as a thank you from another company.  Using 3 of the double branches from the Christmas Banners Dies and 3 of the pine branches did the trick.  I adhered them in a fan format and plopped the candy canes down in the middle which concealed the joining points of the branches.  A bow and sentiment finished the card. 

The red and white candy canes card was my first sample.  I used the Tombo Mono Aqua Liquid Glue but didn’t like the stiffness the adhesive left. I used the Tombo Mono Multi Liquid Glue for the majority of the other cards. The ribbon embellishment can be red or green as can the sentiment from Toile Christmas. Note the 3 small gold leaves that are tucked in among the branches.

The message layer features a pine branch which can be die cut from the Christmas Banner Dies or stamped as we see on the envelope.  A strip of the Sweetest Christmas DSP can be used with the candy cane print as shown here, or the red and white striped pattern on the back as shown below.

As the candy canes colors are assorted, please have a second choice in mind.  There is no guarantee we can meet your request.  All the candy canes are darling but we are limited by the colors shown on the Sweetest Christmas DSP.

September Stamp Camp is right around the corner – Thursday, Friday and Saturday – September 1, 2 and 3.  To end any confusion, we are setting the time from 10am to 4pm for all 3 days.  If you have a situation where you need to come earlier, or stay later, please let me know so we can accommodate your needs.  As always, please let us know as soon as possible what cards you would like to do.  Stay tuned for 3 more fun cards!
