Holiday Ornament

My fan club has informed me that I had a misspelling in one of my blogs and referred to the color green as “greed.”  I was also told that I have given conflicting information regarding the times of the December Stamp Camp.  To clarify that “oops”, Friday, 12/7/2012 from 3 PM to 9 PM and Saturday, 12/8/2012 from 8 AM to 4 PM.  Now, before I show you the fifth card we will be making at our December Stamp Camp, I want to share a special offer Stampin’ Up has for $14.95

Ornament large 2The last card we will be making at the December Stamp Camp is the Holiday Ornament card.  This elegant Midnight Muse and Whisper White card uses the wonderful Ornament Keepsake Bundle.  You can stamp any of the larger ornaments from the Ornament Keepsakes set and die cut them with the Holiday Ornaments Framelits Dies.  Page 3 of the Holiday Catalog shows both the stamp set and the framelits.  Although we embossed this with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, any of the Stampin’ Up Embossing Folders could be used.  We added a bit of Midnight Muse stitched satin ribbon to smoothly tie the card components together.    When Debbie designed this card, she added a touch of elegance to the ornament with the use of pearls.  Rhinestones will also be available for use if preferred.

I hope you can come to our December Stamp Camp.  The cost for the 5 cards is $12.00 and you can purchase a kit if you are unable to attend.  Debbie and I will be available to assist as needed.  I know some of you are on tight time schedules, and we will do as much as we can to help you complete your cards quickly.  Please give me a call at 630.759.3089 or drop an E-mail to paperrose01@aol.com with any questions or concerns you might have.

Christmas Blessings, Rosemary

Evergreen

Evergreen 2Evergreen was my interpretation of the Christmas card shown on page 18 of the Holiday catalog.  Of course now that I look at the card, I see that the star is a bit off kilter – but the hand-made look is what makes our cards so special.  I found the embossing for “Silent Night” sentiment to be a bit challenging, so I went ahead and did the embossing for you.  There is a lightly stamped tree image that is overlaid by the embossed sentiment.  I also pre die-cut the star and the tree holder.  Of interest was a gentle mist of Blushing Bride Shimmer Smooch Spritz on the vanilla cs.  I also did another sample and misted it  with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz.  You can choose either Spritz, or perhaps none at all.  The new Lacy Brocade Textured Embossing Folder provides an interesting background for this Red Riding Hood Card.

This is just one of the five cards we will be doing at the December Stamp Camp – Friday December 7th from 3 PM – 8 PM and Saturday December 8th from 8 AM – 4 PM.  We have earlier than normal start times each day to accommodate your busy schedule.  It would be helpful to know if you plan on coming.  You can give me a call at 630-759-3089 or drop an E-mail to paperrose01@aol.com.  However, as we always have extra kits prepared, feel free to stop by if you find you have the time.  Our cost this month is $12 for the 5 cards.  You can also order a kit if you can’t make the stamp camp.  These are beautiful cards!

The 15-Minute Holiday Card

The watch is ticking!  Can you complete this card in just 15 minutes?  All the work has been done for you – all you have to do is put it together.  In fact, if you don’t complete this card during the December Stamp Camp, you can easily finish it at home – in less than 15 minutes!15 min green 215 min blue   These are really nice as the DSP does most of the work for you!

I had lots of fun making these 15-minute samples.  I used 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 DSP from the Festival of Prints Designed Series Paper Stack – 48 double sided sheets for $6,95.  I trimmed the sheet to 2 panels at 5 1/4  X  2 and flipped  one panel over to use the other design.  I included a strip of Glimmer cs, a stamped very large oval, a stamped postage stamp, square, a 2 3/16” scalloped circle, and 1 – 1 1/4” square, and a 1 3/8” coordinating cs square.  I  pulled an assortment of DSP for the December Stamp Camp kits – I wonder what yours will be?????  This is truly an easy card – no ribbon, no embossing, no die cutting – NO BIG SHOT!!!!

Hope to see you Friday – 12/7 or Saturday 12/8.  The cost this month is $12 for 5 cards.  If you can’t make it, let me know and I will reserve a kit for you to stop by and pick up at your convenience!

Come to Bethlehem

I wanted to share the Christmas card I created for my Mother this year.  I used the Come to Bethlehem image in My Digital Studio (MDS) with one of the Piece of Cake designer series papers as the background.  Using MDS is great for background papers as it allows the designer to vary the opacity.  Note the difference in the backgrounds between the card front and the message as I used a more opaque look for the message inside the card.  After printing the card front, I trimmed and layered it with Soft Suede cs on a So Saffron card.  An added rhinestone adds to the beauty of this simple card.  Oh Come Let Us....

                       image

This is the message that I cut and layered inside my Mother’s Christmas card.

Did you know that you can get a FREE 30-day trial of My Digital Studio.  After the 30 days, there is no big push to buy the digital studio.  If you are interested in creating and printing your own Christmas cards, this would be a great time to try the free trial!  Let me know if you are interested.  After  you order the free trial, it comes to your computer immediately so that you can load and start using it.  This is a great way to personalize your cards as you can add your own wording in the lettering style you want right on to the front of your cards!

The Christmas Stamp Camp is right around the corner – December 7th and 8th.  Check back tomorrow for a preview of one of the cards we will be doing!

Blessings, Rosemary

World Treasures–A card for 2013

World Treasures

World Treasures is a card I had planned for the September Stamp Camp – before I fell and broke my ankles.  We will be doing this card in 2013 and I wanted to share it now as it is such a striking stamp – page 98 in the Stampin’ Up Catalog.  I also like the message that comes with this stamp – One who finds a faithful friend finds a treasure.  I used a color scheme of Raspberry Ripple and Midnight Muse,  International Bazaar DSP, and the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  Rhinestones add a touch of bling to the peacock feathers.  If you are looking for a holiday gift for a stamper, I would recommend this set as it has so many possibilities.  It is priced at $17.95 in clear and $23.95 in wood.  I will honor the 10% discount for this set that I had on my coupon sheet for September.

Our December Stamp Camp will be held December 7th – 3 PM to 9 PM, and December 8th – 9 AM to 4 PM.  We will be doing 4 holiday cards – a beautiful snowflake card using the new Snowflake Soiree set and the Snow Flurry Bigz Die, an elegant ornament card featuring the new Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and framelits dies, a cutesy card with the new Scentsational Season stamp set and the matching framelits dies, and finally a Christmas tree card done with the elegant Evergreen stamp set using the Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad and Champagne Glimmer Paper.  We are limiting to 4 cards as we know everyone is busy and would like to stick to a 2-hour stamp camp.

November Stamp Camp–Christmas Joy

JoyChristmas Joy is an elegant card created with the new Holiday Frame Embossing Folder and the Joyous Celebrations stamp set.  Cherry Cobbler and Midnight Muse cs frame this simple card front.  3 rhinestones and a misting of home brew add sparkle to the finished card.  “Joy” can be stamped in Midnight Muse or Cherry Cobbler.

This is the final card we will be making at the November 9th and 10th Stamp Camp – 4 cards for $10.00.  I hope you can make it.  Give me a call or drop me an E-mail with any questions you may have.  Looking forward to seeing you!

November Stamp Camp–Thanksgiving Owl

Happy ThanksgivingOur punched Thanksgiving Owl is sending a happy message as he perches on a fall leaf and Old Olive stem.  I designed this card in the fall colors of Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, and a touch of Early Espresso.  The wood-grained DSP adds a nice touch to the background.  The fall leaf is created from a die-cut More Mustard maple leaf that was folded in half, and run through the new wood-grained embossing folder to add the veins in the leaf.  Cajun Craze, Red Riding Hood, and tangerine inks were sponged on the leaf and misted with water.  The water blends the colors together for the fall effect.

Thanksgiving Owl is one of the four cards we will be creating at the November Stamp Camp.  The date is November 9th from 4 PM to 9 PM, and November 10th from 9 AM to 4 PM.  $10 is the cost for all the materials.  All you need to bring is yourself!  As a reminder, the Christmas Stamp Camp will be held December 7th and 8th. This will feature 4 holiday cards – a beautiful snowflake, a Christmas tree, a cute line-up of holiday items, and a simple ornament card.  Mark you calendar now.

Blessings, Rosemary

November Stamp Camp–Blooming with Kindness

Blooming with KindnessWhen I think of fall flowers, the chrysanthemum always comes to mind.  The Blooming with Kindness stamp set features this beautiful chrysanthemum and several nice sayings.  I used a color scheme of More Mustard, Basic Gray, and Tangerine Tango for this Thanksgiving card.  The mum is stamped in tangerine , sponged in So Saffron, and spattered in tangerine.  The Howlstooth and Scaringbone Designer Series Paper carries through the color scheme while adding an interesting visual pattern.  The card is finished with a bit of Basic Gray taffeta ribbon and an antique brad.  Although this card has a Happy Thanksgiving message, it could easily be used for any fall occasion.

Hope you can come and make this card during the November Stamp Camp on Friday, November 9th from 4 PM – 9 PM or Saturday, November 10th from 9 AM – 4 PM.  We will be creating 4 cards and the cost will be $10.00.  I have missed everyone during my knee/ankle rehab time and would LOVE to see you all!

Blessings, Rosemary – 630-759-3089

November Stamp Camp–Rejoicing with You

Christmas AngelThe Rejoicing with You stamp set is new this year and is one of my favorites.  Deb created this card using Very Vanilla card stock, Detail Gold embossing powder, and the new Champagne Glimmer Paper.  Participants have the option of embossing the angel in copper instead of gold.  The first layer of Very Vanilla is dry-embossed with the Fancy Fan embossing folder.  The simple message inside the card is also heat-embossed in gold (or copper).

Rejoicing with You is one of 4 cards (2 Thanksgiving, 2 Christmas)  we will be making at the November Stamp Camp – Friday, November 9th from 4 PM – 9 PM and Saturday, November 10th from 9 AM to 10 PM.  The cost for this stamp camp is $10.  I hope you can make it as I would love to see everyone.

Blessings, Rosemary – 630-759-3089
