SPRING GNOMES

03.23.22 Gnomes Horizontal

The silly gnomes come again but this time they are SPRING GNOMES!  There are actually 6 different gnomes and you can combine them as you wish on this slim-line card.  There is actually a strip of cut grass that the gnomes are resting on. Stamped, die-cut clouds float in the sky along with the butterflies and a bumblebee.  Debbie added 7 gems that are difficult to see in the picture but the card has lots of glitz!  The Scan’n Cut was our friend that cut out the gnomes and the grass.

03.23.22 Gnomes Horizontal message

The horizontal message layer can display one gnome as Debbie has shown here or can include additional gnomes.  You can make it a fun card however you choose.  And we have the sleek slimline envelopes from Stampin’Up!

03.23.22 Gnomes verticalThis is the vertical slim-line version of the Spring Gnome card.  This sample was much more challenging to create than the horizontal sample above.  We do see 2 gnomes that were not used in the first sample in addition to the clouds butterflies and bee.  Wink of Stella and gems add lots of pizazz.

03.23.22 Gnomes vertical messageThe message layer features a single gnome along with a pot of flowers, butterfly and bumblebee.  Again, you can design the message layer as you wish.

Please remember to let us know which cards you wish to make and what day you plan on coming.  Masks are optional as of this date.

ALWAYS THANKFUL

10.27.20 Thanksgiving BlessingsThis Thanksgiving card is a combination of the old and the new.  The art work stamp is 4+ years used and the sentiment is 8+ years used and is mounted on a wooden block!  Do you remember the days of the wooden blocks?

10.27.20 Thanksgiving Blessings 1The Cajun Craze card stock, Plaid Tidings DSP and message stamp are all very current.  Plaid Tidings DSP can be used for so many different cards.  There are many different combinations to choose from and picking your favorite is not always easy.

10.27.20 Thanksgiving Blessings 2

The artwork is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and die cut with Layering Ovals.  The Cajun Craze layer highlights the base card and colors within the plaids.  Stampin’ Blends are used for coloring the fall scene.  I did experiment coloring with Wink of Stella that had been tipped in ink.  Talk about shine!  I put a drop of ink refill on one of my acrylic blocks and swished it around with my Wink of Stella brush then used it to color part of my artwork.  Debbie suggests pushing the block into your ink pad to keep from wasting an entire drop of ink.  I ended up using this technique for the pumpkins. You can clean your brush by wiping it back and forth until it is clear or spraying a bit of water on the brush.

10.27.20 Thanksgiving Blessings 3The sentiment and artwork are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals – a crafter’s best friend.  The copper trim ribbon adds a touch of texture and interest to the card front. A 1/2 or 3/4” strip of the plaid DSP was saved to adhere to the message layer.

10.27.20 Thanksgiving Blessings msgMatching leaves are also punched and adhered to the message layer.  This is a new Tim Holtz punch and I love the detail.  The message I chose is from the Beautiful Autumn Stamp Set and is stamped in Cajun Craze.

This is the final card offering for November Stamp Camp which will be on November 5th from 10am to 4pm, November 6th from 10am to 4pm and November 7th from 9am to 4pm.

Did you know I have gift certificates available?  These are great for holiday giving.  They must, however, be redeemed thru me.  Let me know if you are interested in purchasing the perfect gift for crafters.

December Stamp Camp will be on December 3, 4 and 5 and will be my first ever card buffet.  There will be multiple cards to choose from – holiday and everyday.  Each card will be housed in a box with instructions and all the pieces and supplies.  You simply take the box of your choosing back to your work station and craft away.  Then you clean the items you used, replace the box and choose another one.  The cards will be priced between $3 and $3.50.  You can make a total of one card or as many as you want.

As the COVID numbers increase, please stay safe.  If you don’t feel comfortable coming to the house to craft, we can always do a kit for you.  Remember – handmade comes from the heart.

Blessings, Rosemary – (h)630.759.3089 – (c)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

WORLD PEACE

10.27.20 Peace card goldIn today’s crazy world, I truly wish for PEACE.  The result of my wish is this simple but elegant Christmas card.  The base is Thick Whisper White with a layer of Night of Navy.  The top layer is Shimmery White card stock embossed with the Tin Tile 3D embossing folder.  The embossed circles carry the circle design element throughout.  The card is cased from Sharp Notes by Sherylblogsspot.com.

10.27.20 Peace card copper realThis easy card can be done in gold, copper or silver.  The globe is part of the Beautiful World bundle.  To ease the issue of adhering the globe to the navy circle, the new SU adhesive sheets are adhered to the back of the metallic card stock before die-cutting.  The die-cut globe simply requires peeling off the sticky backing before adhering to the circle.  No sticky fingers or liquid adhesive to worry about!

IMG_5255As I did not have a stamp for the sentiment “Let there be PEACE on earth,” I typed the wording out, printed it in Navy and used the stitched rectangle die for cutting. The navy sentiment layer is a 3/4” cs strip punched with the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch.  The globe and sentiment are both popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The ornament hook comes from the retired Delicate Ornaments dies.  This is such a small die and so easy to lose.  The original die was lost at the Bolingbrook Park District during a class I was teaching.

10.27.20 PeaceThe message layer features 2 stamps from the Wrapped in Christmas stamp set.  I have pre-stamped several and have a Stamparatus set up and ready to stamp this beautiful message for you if you like it.

World Peace is truly a very simple card and is one of my favorites.  Please let me know as soon as possible which cards you choose to do for November Stamp Camp and which day you plan on coming.

PYRAMID CARDS for THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS

As a special treat – we will be making pyramid cards at our November Stamp Camp.  I was first introduced to this unusual fun fold when I was gifted with a beautiful birthday pyramid card from our own Judy Rodzen.  This style really piqued my interest so I developed a card for Christmas and one for Thanksgiving.  These cards collapse and amazingly, fit into a standard A2 envelope for mailing.

10.27.20-Christmas-Pyramid-front_thuMy Christmas Pyramid card is made with three 4” squares of Garden Green cs and decorated with two       3 7/8” X 3 7/8” squares of Poinsettia Place DSP cut diagonally to form triangles.  The pyramid sides are embellished with a matching white poinsettia and stamps and dies from Poinsettia Petals.  Some of the poinsettias need to be fussy cut and some fit the poinsettia die. The pyramid is held together with Velcro dots.

10.27.20-Christmas-Pyramid-open_thumWhen the Velcro dots are released, the card opens to the image shown to the right.  A triangle of DSP is added in addition to the message triangle of white or vanilla cs.

10.27.20-Thanksgiving-Pyramid-front_

The Thanksgiving pyramid is made the same way as the Christmas pyramid, but different coordinating DSP is used on each side of the pyramid. The card base is Mint Macaron and the Designer Paper is the beautiful Gilded Autumn.  The sides are each embellished with gilded leaves and pinecones, and gold embossed pumpkins.

10.27.20-Thanksgiving-Pyramid-open_t

Like the Christmas pyramid, when the card is open, there is a triangle to use for your message.

There are several ways to make the pyramid card.  I am creating a step by step tutorial for how I make mine.  The size can vary.  You can work with 5” squares of cs and 4 7/8” or      4 3/4” squares of DSP cut diagonally. You can also make smaller pyramids.  I can see small angel pyramids in my mind.

Which card will you choose to make?  This is such a unique handmade gift to send to family and friends.  My sister-in-law was blown away when she received one I made for her birthday.  She calls it her hat card. These cards take extra time for prep so please let me know as soon as you can which one you wish to make.

RIDE WITH ME

Every now and then, you need a cute stamp set that covers several occasions.  The Ride with Me stamp set certainly accomplishes this!

10.27.20 Come Ride with me birthdayI love this little truck!  I chose to color it shades of gray and black with black glimmer wheels.  The colorful happy birthday balloons floating from the back of the truck are die cut with the Truck Ride Dies.  The truck itself was cut with the Brother ScanNCut.

10.27.20 Come Ride with me ThanksgivingThe Plaid Tidings DSP I chose all coordinates with the wonderful Real Red 3.8” sheer ribbon available in the holiday catalog.  The Thanksgiving version of the card features die-cut pumpkins and a Real Red colored truck.  In order to achieve the matching plaid look, a section of the DSP is cut out and layered onto black cs.  This section is then adhered to the outer DSP with the lines of the plaid all matching.

10.27.20 Come Ride with me ChristmasThe Christmas version of Ride with Me showcases a tree in the back of the truck.  The balloons, pumpkins and Christmas tree are repeated on the envelope and on the message layer.  The plaid DSP theme is carried over to the message layer with the addition of a 1/2” plaid strip of paper.

10.27.20 Come Ride with me unknownHere we see the message layer of the birthday Ride with Me and the matching envelope.

Ride with Me is part of our November Stamp Camp.  Dates and times for this stamp camp are Thursday November 5 from 10am to 4pm, Friday November 6 from 10am to 4pm and Saturday November 7 from 9am to 4pm.  There are lots of choices for November Stamp Camp!  If you plan on attending, please let me know as soon as possible what day(s) you plan to attend and which cards you want to create.  We will continue with our attendee limit, wearing of masks, and disinfecting all materials shared between crafters.

BEAUTIFUL AUTUMN

09.23.20 AutumnFall truly is upon us.  The leaves are slowly turning colors and softly falling.  The Beautiful Autumn stamp set (found in the Handmade for You Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog) and Gilded Autumn Specialty paper help us create autumn in paper.  We are waiting for 1/2” Mint Macaron ribbon which will be added to the center of the card layered over the Cajun Craze strip.  The 3 punches included in this bundle are a maple leaf, an acorn and an oak leaf.

09.23.20 Autumn BeautifulThe DSP can be reversed as we see here.  The  Very Vanilla sentiment is drawn with the Scan’nCut in Cajun Craze, punched out and layered with an Early Espresso punched label.  Pine cones are stamped on the sentiment and colored with Crumb Cake blends. Copper trim festoons the Cajun Craze strip and a matching bow adds dimension and interest.  Although hard to see Gilded Gems embellish the first sample and Champagne Rhinestones embellish the second sample.

09.23.20 Autumn Message LayerThe Very Vanilla message layer is  embellished with a stamped stem of Mint Macaron leaves and stamped and punched out leaves and acorns.  This is a simple card that elegantly reminds us of our current autumn season.  Beautiful Autumn is perfect for fall birthdays or most any fall occasion.

This is our fourth and final card offering for October Stamp Camp.  Don’t forget about the Joy of Paper Pumpkin, the upcoming DSP sale, and my birthday 20% off discount for the month of October.

Please remember to text, email or call me with the day you plan on attending and which cards you wish to make.

FLIGHT OF FANCY

09.23.20 Flight of Fancy

We can’t have October Stamp Camp without a Halloween card!  Flight of Fancy (found in the Handmade for You Aug-Dec 2020 Mini Catalog) has adorable stamps for Christmas, Halloween and Valentine’s Day.  This Happy Halloween card features Plaid Tidings DSP with Tasteful Textile 3D embossed Basic Black card stock with orange satin ribbon.

09.23.20 Flight of Fancy 2

The sentiment Happy Halloween is die cut on Sizzix Adhesive paper to ease adhering the words to the card front. The art work is colored with Stampin’ Blends and highlighted with Wink of Stella.  Extra sparkles are stamped in black on both cards.  The second sample has sparkles in Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Highland Heather.  The art work which is popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

09.23.20 Flight of Fancy Message LayerSpooktacular Bash is used for the message layer with some extra stamped sparkles.  A thin strip of matching DSP coordinates the message layer with the card front.

October Stamp Camp is right around the corner – October 1 from 10 am – 4 pm, October 2 from 10 am – 4 pm, and October 3 from 9 am – 4 pm.  We are still limiting attendance to 4-5 crafters per day with masks and frequent hand washing or sanitizing requested.  A Bath and Body hand sanitizer has been added to everyone’s tool kit.  Please assist in sanitizing stamps, markers, stamp pads before items are shared with another person.

In order to insure the correct amount of card stock is cut, please notify me as soon as possible with the date you would like to come and the cards you wish to make.

PS – Please get your flu shot

FALL BLOSSOMS

09.23.20 Fall BlossomsThis is a fun card!  Many Layered Blossoms Dies are die-cut on Thick Whisper White and vellum card stock.  The Whisper White outline is sponged with daubers in the fall colors you choose.  I used Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melon and Poppy Parade on this sample. The outline is then adhered to vellum.

09.23.20 Fall Blossoms 2The second sample uses similar inks and includes Calypso Coral.  The corner treatment differs on the 2 samples.  The vellum layer stands out against the Cajun Craze top card layer.  My favorite new embossing folder – Tasteful Textures 3D – gives subtle texture to the card front.

 09.23.20 Fall Blossoms close front

This was my first attempt and shows more detail.  I used Old Olive on the leaves and felt it was too dark; in addition, I missed some of the leaves so this did not turn into a sample.

09.23.20 Fall Blossoms close back

This is a view from the back with the sponged outline adhered to the translucent vellum.  Adhering the 2 materials is done with small dots of liquid adhesive and adhesive type will be specified in the directions.  The finished blossoms are adhered to the card front with small dots of liquid adhesive.

09.23.20 Fall Blossoms Message LayerThe message layer features 2 of the individual sponged blossoms layered with vellum.  In this view, corner embellishments were added to match the card front.   Fall Blossoms is one of the options for October Stamp Camp. However, I do not recommend this card if you plan on doing your cards at home.  Please let me know as soon as you can which day you plan on coming and which cards you choose to create.
