SPLIT CIRCLE TECHNIQUE

02.22.22 Split Circle Technique 2I thought March would be a good time to introduce a new technique – the Split Circle.   The sample at your left features 3 circles – a 2 7/8 Pool Party circle, a 2 1/8 Coastal Cabana circle, and a 1 3/8 Bermuda Bay circle.  The circles are cut in half and stacked on opposite ends of the largest half.  The 2 halves come together and the joining seam is covered with a narrow sentiment.  In this sample, “just for you” is embossed in white on a basic black strip of cs.  With the white background embossed with the Tasteful Textile and the analogous or monochromatic color scheme, this card is sharp and crisp.

02.22.22 Split Circle Technique 1My goal for the second sample was to make the split circle the opposite of the sample above.  As you can see the first sample has the half circles sweeping from the top to the bottom of the sentiment layer.  The second sample has the circles sweeping from the bottom to the top.  The choice is up to you.  The card front is embellished with a double Bermuda Bay butterfly and 2 rhinestones on the spine.  An additional rhinestone festoons the split circle. The first sample also has a Bermuda Bay swallow flying out of the circle.

02.22.22 Split Circle MessageThe message layer is simply embellished with additional butterflies and a swallow.  The butterflies are also embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

March Stamp Camp will be held on March 3, 4 and 5 in my home – YEA!  Times will be 10-4 on March 3 and 4.  Saturday March 5 will be from 9-4.  Please let us know if you prefer cards to go.  And I grovel and beg for you to let us know what cards you wish to do and what day you plan on coming.  Everyone was prompt in February!

Don’t forget my personal discount of 20% off Stamping Up products thru the month of February.  And Sale-A-Brations also ends in February.  This is a good month to take advantage of new stamping sets, dies and supplies.

Sending creative blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

AUTUMN LEAVES

10.28.21 Autumn Leaves frontBeauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper offers several beautiful patterns.  This watercolor motif featuring Merry Merlot, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, Bumblebee, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and Cinnamon Cider is one of my favorites and I jumped at the chance to offer a Merry Merlot card.  However, I realize it is not a pattern everyone will like – and that’s perfectly fine as we all have different tastes.  The Seasonal Swirl Dies used here offer several wreath choices – Halloween, Autumn and Christmas.  We may see the Christmas Wreath at the December Christmas Buffet.  Two Early Espresso autumn wreaths are adhered for this card and die cut leaves are adhered with glue dots.  A small shoestring Baker’s Twine bow is adhered to the top of the wreath.  Several colors of Baker’s Twine are available.  Although GRATEFUL is the sentiment shown, other sentiments could be used.  The Banners Pick A Punch was used to form the banner shaped sentiment and Merry Merlot layer.  This card may look labor intensive, but it’s really not and the crafter can limit how many leaves are used.

10.28.21 Autumn Leaves messageThe message is stamped in Merry Merlot with verbiage from both Day of Thanks and Sparkle of the Season Stamp Sets.  The message layer and envelope are both embellished with a small stem of leaves stamped in Merry Merlot.

If you are looking for an autumn birthday card – a simple change in sentiment and message would do the trick.

One November Stamp Camp card left.

CLASSIC CLOCHE

Our Christmas cards start with Christmas in July, continue thru November with one Christmas card at each stamp camp, and this year will finalize with a Christmas Card Buffet on December 2, 3 and 4.  A Christmas Card Buffet is simple, you come and choose to put on your “plate” those cards you wish to do.  Each item will be priced individually and you can choose to add one to your plate, or two, or three, or none.  This is totally up to you.  The goal is to have a buffet line of 10 different entrees.  Please realize this is my goal! I will guarantee there will be a variety, colors will not be limited to red and green, and at least one pyramid card will be included.

For our November Stamp Camp, the Classic Cloche is being offered.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Church front

All three of the Classic Cloche views are done with Garden Green, Evening Evergreen, and Peaceful Prints DSP.  This view also features the cloche dome which slides very easily into the die-cut opening and has taped adhesive already in place.  This may look difficult, but believe me, it is a piece of cake.  A sentiment from the Classic Cloche stamp set is stamped in Evening Evergreen and uses the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch as does the Evening Evergreen layer.  Two additional trees are layered on the front above the sentiment.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Church closeup

This close-up view of the church shows the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter adhered to the rooftops and ground.  Ice Stampin’ Glitter was added before the dome was adhered turning this into a shaker card.  It’s cute and very easy!  There are even pre-colored scenes if you don’t wish to color your own.  These cards will not fit into a standard envelope.  I will have 5 X 7 padded envelopes available for 50 cents each to ease your mailing options.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Church message

Each of the 3 card samples features the same message but different embellishments.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Birds front

The Classic Cloche Stamp Set and matching Cloche Dies also has a bird option.  The birds inside the cloche are stacked 2-3 high for depth.  I chose not to use dimensionals as the sequins would stick.  Although not featuring glitter, Snowflake Sequins are added turning this card also into a shaker card.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Birds message

The message layer shown on the bird sample is embellished with a single and 4 die cut trees.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Church flat front

The final sample of the Classic Cloche card samples is a flat view with no cloche added

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Church flat closeupThis close-up view of the flat sample indicates bumpy snow – perhaps the snow blower had just been by.  I’m not sure how the glitter will fare through the mail although it appears to be very sturdily glued on.  Tombo Aqua Mono Liquid Glue was used as the adhesive for the glitter and allowed to dry.  A tiny shoestring bow of silver and white Baker’s Twine was added to the top of the cloche image.

10.28.21 Classic Cloche Church Flat message

The embellishment featured on this final sample is simply a row of punched Evening Evergreen trees using the Evergreen Border Punch!  The message and envelope stamps come from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set.

As you choose your cards for November Stamp Camp, please understand that this is really an easy card to create – it simply looks difficult.  In addition, Debbi and I are available if a challenge arises.

PRETTY PUMPKINS

10.28.21 Pretty Pumpkins front

I absolutely love this card.  It is so “autumny” if there is such a word!  The Pumpkin Pie and white with touches of Old Olive seem perfect as Thanksgiving approaches.  Of course you could stamp “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” instead of the thankful sentiment I used.  However, why couldn’t the thankful sentiment be used for a birthday?

The Scalloped Contours Dies work perfectly for this card giving such a soft rounded grace that matches the round pumpkins   AND, the Stamp n’Cut happily cut out all the pumpkins and vines for us!

10.28.21mPretty Pumpkins messageThe message layer literally pops out with HAPPYY THANKSGIVING. This is a Sizzix Thinlits 3-D Drop In Die.  I made the mistake of not ordering the stamp set also.  How was I supposed to stamp the HAPPY THANKSGIVING with no stamp?  But like many situations we encounter in life, I developed a work-around.  Ask me at November Stamp Camp and I will be happy to share what I did!

November Stamp Camp is right around the corner.  November 4th from 10am – 4pm, November 5th from 10am – 4pm, and November 6th from 9am – 4pm.  The cost remains the same – $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for each additional card.  We will have some kind of pumpkin treat to keep us going with full energy.  As always, please let me know as soon as possible which day you prefer to come, which cards you choose to do, if you are under any constraints and will need additional help, or if you need CARDS TO GO (the take-out alternative).  You can notify me by cell phone, text, home phone or e-mail.

Looking Forward to Seeing You!!!  Rosemary (C)630.965.1965 – (H)630.859.3089 – paperrose01@aol.com

HALLOWEEN FUN

092321 Halloween GirlHow can we get through the month of October without a Halloween card or two?  I think the Seasons of Fun hostess set located on page 78 in the Mini Catalog is absolutely perfect for this cute fun fold card!  And just to let you know, we will be using  the other images shown on this set before year’s end, What’s not to love about a Pumpkin Pie and Basic Black card?  A few strokes with your Stampin’ Blends and your artwork is ready to go!

09.23.21 Halloween MonsterNow if you are creating a card for a young or older male, I’m sure the young pumpkin girl featured above might not be appreciated. (To change the subject briefly, the first person who e-mails, texts or phones me the percentage and dates of my October discount AND their card order will win the Reflected in Nature Stamp Set).  In that case, the same card can feature a monster of your choice from one of my retired Halloween sets.  Here we see a monster fighting off small bats attached with glue dots while stamped mice march across the oval die-cut.

09.23.21 Halloween Black CatBut what if you associate scary black cats with Halloween.  Then the cat punch and black glitter paper is for you.  Adding the cat to an oval overrun with black rats can be scary enough.  If desired, google eyes are available to add to the cat.  This Halloween card is of course the fastest as there is no coloring, but it still makes a darling seasonal card.  Note the spider web and added sentiment.

0927.21 Halloween msg abbreviatedThe message layer is identical for all the Halloween cards.  Happy Halloween is stamped in black and punched out with the Washi Label Punch.  A Basic Black Spider Web from the retired Cauldron Framelits Dies embellishes the left corner.  You can die-cut the spider webs on the adhesive paper so there is no need for liquid glue.

And there you have it – 4 totally different cards for October Stamp Camp!  Please please please let me know what cards you wish to do and what day you want to come or if you wish Cards to Go.  Mark your calendars now for November Stamp Camp – November 4, 5, and 6.  I’m also striving for a poinsettia wreath class in November  with a limited number of crafters.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

DAISY GARDEN

09.23.21 Daisy Garden YellowDaisy Garden is perfect for the fall months as it lets us use colors that are reminiscent of autumn.  Although we will do more fall cards in November as we prepare for Thanksgiving, I thought it would be nice to add a touch of fall colors for October Stamp Camp.  Daisy Garden as used here appears to be a double time stamping card – however, thanks to the Scan n’Cut, I cheated and precut the center section.  Although any color combination would work, this card features Cinnamon Cider, Light and Dark Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple green Stampin; Blends.

09.23.21 Daisy Garden Pale PayayaFor the second sample, the new light and dark Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends are used along with Old Olive and Cinnamon Cider.  I find the easiest way to color is to insert the cut out image in the opening so the colors blend from one piece to the other.  If desired, just one or two daisies could be colored, or just the daisies and no leaves, or just the images in the center section could be colored.  I chose to color the entire image.  Although very hard to see, black metallic thread feelers have been attached to the butterflies with dimensionals or glue dots.  I like the added crafty touch of the feelers on the butterflies.  Wink of Stella has been added judiciously.

Don’t forget to let me know what cards you wish to do for October Stamp Camp and what day you plan on coming or if you prefer Cards to Go.  As October is my birthday month, a personal 20% Stampin’Up product discount will be offered from October 3rd thru October 31st, 2021.  This is a great time to increase your Stampin’ Blends library and pick up stamps, ink and card stock for the holidays!

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Fall Blessings,

Rosemary (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

SWEET LITTLE STOCKINGS

imageSweet Little Stockings is the perfect Christmas card for those friends and relatives who have family pets.  The set includes 3 Christmas stocking sizes, the head images of a dog, cat and chipmunk as well as gifts, candy canes, Santa hats and more!  And of course, the dies match the stamps!  What is really exciting is that the dies MATCH THE STOCKINGS on the Sweet Stockings DSP!

This is a great set for years to come!  Who doesn’t need Christmas stockings with matching dies?  The colors of this card are Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Soft Seafoam and a touch of Bumblebee.  Felt trim is added for dimension and texture.

imageI am a cat person so my second sample features two cats.  This card also reverses the layout of the small and large stockings, and uses an alternate sentiment.  Two dogs could easily be used or 1 animal and 2 stocking of presents or a chipmunk could be used – lots of choices!   Note the stitched rectangles in the corners.  This die set is relatively new and I was excited to use it.  The Jolly Felt comes in the 4 colors used here.  I know felt would be cheaper at a Bix Box store but the colors match the card stock and inks perfectly.  Adding the felt trim and toe/heel die cuts adds so much detail.  The Decorative Dots used also match the colors used in the card.

09.23.21 Santa Paws Message layerThe message layer I originally designed is changed.  I prefer this design of the Sweet Stockings DSP to embellish the card.  the addition of a simple Christmas stocking and candy cane provide just the right touch.  Although there are many messages that can be used for this fun card, I really like the SANTA PAWS is coming to town wording.

Sweet Little Stockings is one of the cards featured at our October Stamp Camp on October 7, 8 and 9.  Times are 10-4 on Thursday 10/7 and Friday 10/8, and 9-4 on Saturday 10/9.  Please let me know just as soon as you can what cards you wish to make and what day you plan on coming.  You can make as many cards as you choose – cost is $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for each additional card.  If Cards to Go works better for you, be specific as to what you want in your kit.  As the holiday season approaches, Cards to Go might work better for your busy schedule, but then you would miss my smiling face and Debbie’s latest tales!  Please bring your mask as Covid is still plaguing us!  Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Blessings to all,

Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

DRAGONFLY GARDEN

08.23.21 Dragonfly orange openDragonfly Garden features – DRAGONFLIES!  This colorful Z-fold card is perfect for so many occasions and would be a great card for a guy.  The Dandy Garden DSP was one of the DSP patterns on sale in October.  The stamp set features dragonflies, a narrow grouping of wildflowers and several sentiments.  The bundle includes a dragonfly punch which gives you the large and small dragonflies seen here.

08.23.21 Dragonfly orange cardThe closed card image shows the rhinestones embellishing the large and small dragonflies.  The colors used are Calypso Coral, Blackberry Bliss and Bumblebee.  If you look closely, you may spot a ladybug on a leaf.  The deckle-edged card stock is die-cut from a Sizzix set.  The rough edges are the perfect texture for this card.

08.23.21 Dragonfly blackberry openThe second sample features a larger Blackberry Bliss dragonfly on the card front.  Black rhinestones are used as embellishments instead of the clear ones used above.  You can see the ladybug climbing up the card front.  Stampin’ Blends and Stampin’ Write Markers are used for the coloring of the flowers and the dragonflies.

08.23.21 Dragonfly blackberry closedThe closed view of the card shows how the use of the Blackberry Bliss large dragonfly on the card front highlights different different background colors when compared to the Calypso Coral butterfly used in the close view above.

Mark your calendars now for October Stamp Camp.  We will have a cute Halloween card, some leaves, and the Christmas card will feature Sweet Little Stockings with dogs, cats and chipmunks!  October 7, 8 and 9.

Again, please let me know as soon as you can what day you plan on coming and which cards you would like to make.  And if you will be unable to come and need a kit – or if you will need to leave early and need a partial kit – please let me know now.  Advanced notice makes the preparation of kits handleable.

Blessings,

Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paprrose01@aol.com

BERRY BLESSINGS

08.23.21 Berry card 1August was Ice Cream Stamp Camp.  September will be BLUEBERRY STAMP CAMP!  As we will be serving bowls of blueberries, we MUST have a blueberry card!  The Berry Delightful DSP is the perfect background for the Berry Blessings Stamp Set.  These were items free in the spring Sale-A-Brations brochure.  Debbie unearthed Blueberry Bushel card stock from her stash so we are blueberry-set!  Garden Green, Night of Navy and Blueberry Bushel are the colors used.

08.23.21 Berry message 1The trim used on the card front and message layers comes from the Scalloped Contours Dies.  The rectangular tag featuring the blueberries and stem also comes from the Scalloped Contours Dies.  The leaves and blueberries have been die cut on the Scan’n Cut.  The leaves are glued flat and the blueberries are elevated slightly with glue dots.  A blue picot bow embellishes the blueberry stem.  Rhinestones in clear or blue add sparkle to the card.  Sentiments available include TO A DEAR FRIEND and A LITTLE NOTE.  The Treasured Tags Pick A Punch are used for the sentiment.  The message layer features not a blueberry – but a raspberry!

So far we’ve seen a dahlia, angels and berries!  What could be next for September Stamp Camp?

Please remember to let me know if you need a kit.  It is much easier if we can prep them as we are cutting paper, embossing, etc.  And don’t forget to let me know what day you will be coming and what cards you want to do.

Blessings,

Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

ANGELS OF PEACE

08.23.21 Amgels of PeaceAngels of Peace is my favorite Christmas set for 2021.  I fell in love with the set the second I saw it in the July-December Mini Catalog.  I pondered over how to present the angel in a simple but elegant fashion.  The end result has her embossed in gold and framed with embossed metallic gold.  The oval dies used are a combination emboss and die cut.  The end result on the gold metallic is very elegant.  The framed angel rests on tufted embossed white cs framed in Night of Navy on a thick white card.  A simple Noel embellishes the lower corner and a gold star shines in the East.

08.23.21 Angels of peace message layerThe message layer is framed in navy and features our second angel – small in stature but a mighty presence.  She wears a garland  of flowers and clutches a bough of holly.  The message is chosen from the Angels of Peace stamp set.  The message and angel are gold embossed to carry thru the elegance of the card.

This is our September Christmas card.  You may make as many as you wish.  Embossing is fun as you watch the dull gold heat up and pop into life!

Don’t forget to let us know if you will need a kit, how many cards you wish to do, and what day you plan on coming!

Blessings,

Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
