JUNE STAMP CAMP

Can you believe June is right around the corner?  I have planned something different for June Stamp Camp.  We will be doing a ONE SHEET WONDER.  A One Sheet Wonder means cutting up one sheet of paper and using it to create several different cards.  The designer series paper we will be using is Dainty Flowers.  We used a different pattern of this lovely DSP last month.  A full sheet of this DSP will make 8 cards – 2 sets of 4 different cards.  You can do 1 set of 4 cards, 2 sets of 4 cards (8), 3 sets of 4 cards (12) and on up.  You will just need to tell me how many sets of cards you wish to make.  The sentiments can be birthday, thinking of you, just for you, hello – or any of the available sentiment stamps.  I chose to use Go To Greetings for my samples but you can choose any sentiment you desire.

05.21.23 View 1The first card – or view 1, comes from the far left side of this pattern of the Dainty Flowers DSP.  The paper was cut at 5 1/4 inches at the top and bottom with a 1 1/2 strip left from the middle.  The 5 1/4  X 12 inch pieces were then cut into 3 inch sections.  As noted above, what we see here is the far left 3 X 5 1/4” section.  The card is done in the bookbinder style.  There are 2 different Wrapped in Texture embossing folders that can be used for the Old Olive strip.  A strip of Baker’s Twine rests in the card fold.   Butterflies from Graphics Fairy were chosen for the 4 cards, 2 of which we see here.  Rhinestones colored with a purple Sharpie embellish the front layer

05.1`.12 View 2The second card – or view 2, comes from the second 3 inch portion of the left side of the DSP.  This simple triangle card layout calls for a 3 X 4 section of DSP.  The original 3 X 5 1/4 piece is trimmed – a little on the top and more on the bottom to allow as much color as possible.  The 3 X 4 section is cut in half and layered on 3 1/4 X 4 1/4 cardstock also cut in half.  Starry Sky was used here.  The sentiment is cut with the Banners Pick A Punch and layered over a thin strip of Starry Sky.  Although hard to see, there are 3 small blue butterflies and 3 blue rhinestones embellishing the card front.

05.21.23 View 3The third card – or view 3, comes from the 3” section that is third from the left, or second from the right strip of Dainty Flowers DSP.  The embossed Blackberry Bliss cs creates a very elegant but simple card.  The retired Swirls and Curls embossing folder adds to the elegance and simplicity.  The DSP is framed in Blackberry Bliss which gives a break between the artwork and the embossed cs.  A single butterfly and 3 pastel pearls embellish this lovely card. No sentiment was added as I felt it would detract from the elegance of the card.

05.21.23 View 4

Our fourth and final card – or view 4 comes from the 3” section of Dainty Flowers DSP that is the right end of the 12”strip of DSP.  This card is done in the flip style and the front panel flips up to show the message layer.  Panels of Crushed Curry festoon both sides of the DSP panel.  The Ornate Floral Embossing Folder provides both interest and depth.  The sentiment uses the Banners Pick A Punch on the ends and is layered over a thin strip of Blackberry Bliss.  2 different butterflies and 3 purple colored rhinestones embellish the card front.

05.21.23 One Sheet Wonder msg layerAt the beginning of this post, I mentioned there was a 12 X 1 1/2 inch strip of Dainty Flowers DSP left from the middle of the 12 X 12 sheet after 5 1/4” was cut off each end for the DSP portion of the 4 cards.  This strip was cut into 4 X 1/2 inch pieces for the message layer of each card and provides a bit of color. The strips for views 1 and 4 will need to trimmed to 3”.

And so we have it – 4 cards from a 12 X 5 1/4” sheet of DSP – or 8 cards from a whole sheet.  You choose how many sets you want – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or more.  Just let me know as soon as you can, how many sets you want and which day you plan on coming, or if you need Cards to Go.  The dates for June Stamp Camp are June 1, 2, and 3 from 10 – 4 each day.  You can come all 3 days or whatever hours work for your schedule.  Just let me know.

Mark your calendars now for July Stamp Camp – July 6, 7 and 8.  We will be doing 1 Christmas card in July and will continue making 1 – 2 Christmas cards per month up until Christmas  We will also be making a geranium card and inking vellum for a fun and decorative card front,

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630,759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

BEST DAY FUN FOLD

04.23.23 Best DayBest Day – a retired stamp set – makes a cute birthday card perfect for anyone young at heart.  Stampin’ Blends are used to color the cake and sentiment.,  Gorgeous Grape card stock is layered with Dandy Designs in a fun fold design.  Petal Pink, Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia and Calypso Coral are used on this sample,  The fun fold is made by cutting out the front top area of the card front.  This piece of cardstock is layered with the stamped cake and adhered to the bottom area of the card.

04.23.23 Best Day 2The second sample uses the same design but different colors are used on the cake and sentiment.  You can color your card however you wish.  Glitter enamel dots and Cute Star Adhesives are used to embellish the birthday cake layer.

04.23.23 Best Day MessageWhen the card is opened, the message appears along with an actual candle embellishment.  Confetti is stamped in Gorgeous Grape to carry the celebration theme onto the message layer.  Would you like this stamp set?  The first person who sends me a text or e-mail telling me how they will use this stamp set, will become the proud owner after we finish using the set on Saturday, May 6th.

May Stamp Camp is May 4, 5, 6 from 10am to 4pm.  Please send me a list of the cards you want to make and when it is convenient for you to come.  I’m ready to cut your cardstock now.  Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

GO TO GREETINGS

04.23.23 Go To Greetings NoteLet’s pretend you just saw a new doctor and he was able to diagnose your aching foot, or your postman helped pick you up after you fell of your bicycle in the middle of the street.  You want to send a casual note to acknowledge their action but you want to use a handmade card.  Or it’s your not favorite brother-in-law’s birthday so you have to send a card or your sister will never forgive you.  And of course, it had better be a handmade card.  Go To Greetings is the stamp set you need.

04.23.23 Good Greetings

The 4 basic greetings are Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, Just a Note, and Thank You.  The greetings come in 3 different sizes and are perfect for a semi-professional card.  HELLO is included in the smallest size.

04.23.23 Go To Greetings HBThe Happy Birthday card shown here uses the middle script shown above.  The Fancy Frames Dies provide an attractive frame for the sentiment but again, looks semi-professional.  The Fancy Frames are layered on Adhesive Sheets to ease the process of adhering the frame to the card front.  3 rhinestones are colored with a royal blue permanent Sharpie.  This adds a more personal touch to the card.

04.23.23 Go To Greetings MessageThe message layer is embellished with a single stem of leaves die-cut in Starry Sky to match the card.  This is the perfect card for an acknowledgement occasion.

So far we’ve seen 3 very distinctive cards.  Please let me know as soon as you can, which cards you would like to make and what day/s you would like to come for May Stamp Camo.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

SENDING

04.23.23 SendingSending Smiles is the stamp set that can be used for many types of occasions as shown below. In the image to the left, Butterfly Kisses DSP sets the color theme for the card:  Calypso Coral, Parakeet Party, Fresh Freesia and Daffodil Delight.  The flower stem is stamped and the flowers are stamped and die cut.  The sentiment wording is stamped and die cut with the perfect sized die included in the set.  SENDING is die cut in Calypso Coral and carefully adhered above the sentiment wording.

04.23.23 Sending sentiment

These are all the choices you have for the Sending sentiment.  All occasions are covered!  The die set has 2 dies that will fit these sentiments.

04.23.23 Sending BirthdayThis sample is just like the one above but uses the BIRTHDAY WISHES sentiment.  The butterfly colors differ as does the small flower that serves as the dot over the “I” letter in Sending.  Although hard to see, the largest butterfly is two layers and is embellished with tiny pearls.  This is such a cute card for spring, but with a change in DSP, any color combination is possible.

The message layer is simple yet colorful.  A small stem is stamped in Parakeet Party and a stamped and die-cut flower is adhered with a dimensional.

04.23.23 Sending MessageA strip of Butterfly Kisses adorns the bottom or side of the message layer.

Have you received your 2023-2024 catalog?  If not, please let me know as I ordered them for all my regular customers.  There are color changes for the 2023-2024 stamping season.  I will admit I love many of the retiring colors and DSP patterns and have purchased much of the retiring papers.  I love the Carousel bundle in the new book and plan on ordering it on May 2nd.

Mark your calendars now for June Stamp Camp – June 1, 2 and 3.  We will be doing a first – a One-Sheet Wonder.  We will be using a different pattern of the Dainty Flowers DSP and will make 4 different cards from 1/2 of a 12X12 sheet of DSP or 8 cards from a full sheet of DSP,  This will be a great way to learn different ways to use a half sheet of DSP.

I hope to see you at May Stamp Camp!  Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

Dainty Delight

04.23.23 Dainty FlowersThe Dainty Flowers DSP combined with the Dainty Delight Stamp Set and coordinating  dies combine to make an absolutely beautiful card.  I know many of you earned this free DSP during the most recent Sale-A-Brations campaign.  Stretching your DSP with this layout allows for only 2”X5 1/4” usage.  You could make 12 cards from 1 sheet of DSP!  Unbelievable!  The left portion of the card is also 2” X 5 1/4” but is Basic White cs that has been embossed with the new Cane Weave 3-D Embossing Folder.

04.23.23 Dainty Flowers MessageThe flowers and fine are die-cut on Rich Razzleberry and Pear Pizazz cs.  3 Champagne Rhinestones embellish the flower centers and 3 brass butterflies provide additional interest.  The sentiment is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and punched with the Banners Pick A Punch.  The sentiment is layered on Rich Razzleberry that is punched with the same punch.

The message layer features a strip of Dainty Flowers and a Rich Razzleberry flower that has been brushed with Wink of Stella.

May Stamp Camp is right around the corner – May 4, 5 and 6 from 10am – 4pm each day.  You can come for an hour or stay until 4.  You can even come all 3 days.  The cost remains $3.50 per card – no quantity limit.  We provide everything to create your cards.  Water and soda pop are in the fridge to guarantee you don’t become dehydrated.  A snack of some type will magically appear.  All you need to bring is yourself.  But PLEASE let us know as soon as you can which cards you wish to do and what day/s you plan on coming.

Spring Blessings. Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

SPRING BLESSINGS

IMG_7014I fell in love with the Spring Blessings Stamp Set the first time I looked thru my 2023 Mini Spring Catalog.  I thought the 2 young gals, the bunny rabbit, the 3 available garlands and the tufts of grass in the stamp set were all so cute.  The girls. basket and bunny have been stamped and pre-cut with my Brothers Scan’n’Cut.  I enjoyed using the different Stampin’ Blends skin tones and hair colors.  The garland and sentiment are set up on the Stamparatus for quick and painless stamping.  The grass and butterflies are quickly stamped on.

IMG_7009The bunny, butterflies, basket and girls are colored with Stampin’ Blends.  Although hard to see, flowers have been stamped on the dress of one gal, and stars on the other dress.  The .fun part is adding the loose daisy embellishments.  They are adhered with tiny drops of liquid adhesive or glue dots right over the stamped floral garland.  Daisies are also adhered to the hair of both gals, and the little basket.  The message layer includes an additional bunny rabbit and stamped butterflies.  I think this is such a fun card.  No die cutting but coloring and stamping are the tasks at hand.

Don’t forget to let me know what day you will be coming – March 30, 31, April 1, and which cards you want to work on – or if you will be Cards to Go.

My 20% product discount continues thru March 31st.  The orders are in for those of you who placed orders earlier in the month.  The new 2023-2024 catalog will be coming out in May.  New catalogs have been ordered and will be delivered in May.  Stampin’Up is doing a color re-set.  Some current colors and the 2021-2023 In-Colors will be leaving us and current trending colors will be joining us.  I know Peacocck is returning.  I’m hoping for a pretty pink.  As soon as I know more, I will share the news with you.  I’ve already purchased some of my favorite card stock that I know will be retiring.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

Easter Blessings

20230317_195623009_iOSI follow a number of paper crafters and enjoy seeing their creative ideas.  Every now and then, I see something that is not Stampin’Up but is an item I feel is needed for my stamping library.  Cross of Hope is a die from Simon Says Stamps.  The sentiment – Easter Blessings – is from Gina K Designs, also purchased thru Simon Says.  The color purple was not chosen because I know how many of you love purple, but rather for the richness of purple being a color for royalty as is Our Lord.

20230317_195646574_iOSThe “old wooden cross” is a creative idea Debbi is credited with,  I was thinking of a gold cross but Debbi said no – use a wooden cross.  I am using DSP that is worn – like the old wooden cross Our Lord was nailed to.  The cross is raised as you can see in the image to our right.  The purple marbled DSP layer under the white is from the retired Simply Marbleous DSP that Stampin’ Up featured in a Sale-A-Bration campaign several years ago.  The varying shades of Gorgeous Grape provide the perfect background for our old wooden Cross.  The sentiment is very elegant and softens the overall feel of the card front.  The sentiment is set up on the Staparatus allowing you to quickly stamp without having to worry about the wording being straight and centered.

20230317_195530995_iOSThe message layer is simple – a strip of our Simply Marbleous DSP and two small wooden crosses.

As a reminder, April Stamp Camp is March 30, 31, and April 1st.  As always, I appreciate your notifying me as soon as you can with what day you plan on attending, and which cards you choose to make.  Cards to Go is also available if you will be out of town, are not feeling up-to-par, or if the weather is not conducive to traveling.  The current weather prediction is that all 3 days will be in the 50’s with rain on 3/30 and 4/1.  But we know the prediction will change between now and then.. Let me know if you have any concerns or questions.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

OH, HAPPY DAY

We have not created any easel tent cards in quite a while.  For April Stamp Camp, we are going to create not one – but 2 easel cards!

IMG_6987This bright and cheery tent card comes to us from the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set with matching dies.  The Dandy Designs DSP that was free with the Sale-A-Bration campaign gives us the perfect bright background for our card.  This stamp set features a foxy fox, a playful rabbit, and my favorite – the flower-bearing turtle.  We have Balmy Blue clouds, a Tahitian Tide and white kite, flowers sprouting from a tree stamp and of course – Mr. Turtle.  Stampin’ Blends in assorted colors are used to make our images come to life.

IMG_6988Our easel tent card starts out with a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 11 X 4 1/4.  The cardstock is scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2.  I find it easier to score at 4 1/4, then flip the cardstock and score at 2 1/2   After the cardstock is folded with crisp score lines, we see the tent shape form as the image to the right shows.  Our “Oh Happy Day” sentiment is popped up on Dimensionals and keeps the top part of the card from flopping open..  If needed, double Dimensionals could be used to increase the height of the sentiment.  I added more flowers and 2 Tahitian Tide butterflies.  Although you can’t see the m, 3 small rhinestones are used in the centers of 3 flowers.

IMG_6991The open card is difficult to see.  A strip of DSP is adhered to the bottom of the 4 X 4 Basic White cardstock message layer  This card would be perfect for adults and children and can celebrate many occasions.

April Stamp Camp is right around the corner.  The dates are Thursday-Friday-Saturday, March 30, March 31, and April 1st.  Because of Easter celebrations, we need time to send our Easter cards so they arrive on time.  The times of April Stamp Camp are 10am – 4pm each day.  You can come when it is convenient for you.  The cost remains the same – $3,50 per card.

Don’t forget than I’m offering a 20% product discount on all Stampin’Up items except Paper Pumpkin.  This is the ideal time to replenish cardstock and Stampin’ Blends or purchase a die set that can be used for many different occasions.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

FIRST OF ALL – I FORGOT TO ADHERE THE BRASS BUTTERFLIES!  Each card with have 2 brass butterflies – 1 on the top half and the other on the sentiment.

The cards offered for March Stamp Camp are a fun fold and very colorful.  We see a Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight, a Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape, and a Melon Mambo and Mint Macaron card.  I refer to them as yellow, grape or Melon Mambo.  The sentiment has so many options as the top sentiment layer is a decent size.  Also, using a 3-color sentiment pops the sentiment.  You can make this card for absolutely any occasion although a child may not appreciate the beauty.  I have 3 packages of this beautiful DSP.  I will do my best to give you the color combination you want.  But you need to let me know NOW what you prefer.  I will let you know if I can’t meet your color specifications.

IMG_6718This is a view of the opened card and message layer.  You see the bottom half of the sentiment at the top.  Again, please let me know NOW which cards you wish to make – Yellow, Grape or Melon Mambo.

As a reminder, March Stamp Camp is Thursday, Friday, Saturday – March 2, 3, 4 – from 10am to 4pm.  Come whenever you want.  You can even come all 3 days (but you might get tired of seeing me!)

Because of Easter, APRIL STAMP CAMP WILL BE HELD MARCH 30, 31 AND APRIL 1.  I know this is off cycle but I want to allow time for Easter cards to be mailed.  Our April Stamp Camp will feature Easter/Spring cards that are interchangeable.  Mark your calendars now.  I’m sure there will be lots of jelly beans available!!!

Also, remember to take advantage of my 20% product discount for the month of March.  There is no minimum or maximum although this discount does not apply to Paper Pumpkin.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Almost Spring Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

ADORABLE OWL

IMG_6705This little guy is so very cheerful.  Adorable Owls is one of the stamp sets that is free with a $50 product purchase during the Sale-A-Bration promotion which ends February 28.  3 owls are featured.  Balmy Blue must be the color for March Stamp Camp as Nested Friends also features Balmy Blue.  Dandy Designs, also from the Sale-A-Bration promotion, is the DSP shown here.  The white layer to the left framed in Balmy Blue has been embossed with the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder. Two embossing folders come with this set so a different one was used for each of the samples.   Layering Circles Dies are used for the owl image and the sentiment.

IMG_6699

The owls are colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The owl in the card above is colored with light SU500 and dark SU200.  These are Stampin’ Up skin tone shades.  The owl to the right is colored with light and dark Crumb Cake.  Light Balmy Blue is used for the outer eyes and a bit of Light Pool Party is used on the inner eye.  Light Petal Pink or Pale Papaya color the beak and feet of both owls.  Several messages come with this set.  The sentiment “You’re a friend like no other” is from the Best Bunny stamp set.  Several clear rhinestones are adhered and of Wink of Stella adds a bit of sparkle.

IMG_6702The message layer features a strip of the Dandy Designs DSP that matches the front, and a small stamped bird that is also found on the envelope.  The bird comes to us from the Best Bunny Stamp Set and is colored in Balmy Blue and Petal Pink or Pale Papaya.

We’ve seen a bit of nature for March Stamp Camp – birds, owls and shamrocks – but NO FLOWERS.  I wonder what our final March Stamp Camp card will look like????????????????

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
