CHEERFUL BASKET

HAPPY 2023 crafters and Welcome Back to another year of happy crafting, fun folds and new ideas and techniques.

01.23.23 Cheerful BasketAs Valentines Day is just around the corner, hearts are being featured for February Stamp Camp.  However, with the change of the sentiment, these cards can easily be for birthdays, thinking of you, or other cheerful occasions.

For Cheerful Basket, all of our images are die cut.  Retired wood tone DSP is perfect for our basket.  To fill the basket, double heart images are stamped, die cut and colored with Stampin Blends.  Our cute little kitty is stamped in Basic Gray on Smoky Slate.  Several red glitter hearts are punched or die cut and add sparkle to our card front.

So when is February Stamp Camp?  Actually, it is right around the corner – Thursday, Friday and Saturday – February 2, 3 and 4 from 10am to 4pm each day.  You can come for one hour, 2 hours, or spend the day.  As always, we provide all the tools and supplies.  Water and soda pop is also provided.  Not sure yet what our snack will be.  One change for 2023 is the pricing.  Cards will still be any 4 for $14, but each additional card will be $3.50.  I apologize for having to make this change, but the rising prices on everything has taken a toll.

Please let me know which cards you wish to do, and when you plan on coming.  Debbie could use everyone’s prayers and she is ill and having problems getting rid of the infection.  It will be great to see everyone!

A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY!

The wood words bundle (page 159 in the 2017-2018 catalog) is just too cute.  The Wood Textures DSP offers endless possibilities and the crate is perfect for 3 inch cards as we see here , for a treat for a special person, or to embellish the front of a card.

The crate is die cut twice and the bottom and sides attached with Sticky Strip (my favorite) or a strong liquid adhesive – I don’t recommend snail.  Embellishments for the crate include a partial doily, red scalloped circle, Wood Words stamped circle and die cut rooster.  Two small banners of Night of Navy ribbon and a tag finish the front crate layer.

The 3” red card matches the crate.  A layer of navy and Wood Textures DSP are softened with a doily.  A navy circle, red scalloped circle, Wood Words stamped circle and die cut rooster embellish the card front.  Finally, 2 pieces of navy ribbon and a “for you” tag finish the card.  There are other stamps and dies available; I just happen to like the red rooster and navy flower combination!

The DSP crate will hold 3-4 3” cards with envelopes.  If placing something heavy in the crate, regular card stock would be sturdier than the DSP although you could easily cover a card stock crate with the DSP.

While I think of it, here is a copy of the end of year stamp camp.  I will have copies to hand out at September Stamp Camp.  And don’t forget – 20% SU product discount for the entire month of September.  Stay tune for the next blog – Birthday Memories!!!

Spring Easter Basket

Spring Easter Basket

What fun I am having with these springy baskets.  This new die is entitled Berry Basket Bigz L Die.  It requires your normal cutting pads and 2 pieces of 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 cs – or 1 piece of 8 1/2 X 11 cut in half.  Although there are score marks for folding, no other pads are needed.  However, because of the score lines, you are advised to only cut one piece of card stock at a time.  The die cuts your basket and trim and is so easy to use.  For the Melon Mambo basket, I also die cut DSP trim and adhered it to the mambo trim with snail.  The trim is actually attached to the basket. with 8 staples.  I embellished the two baskets shown above with the new butterfly Butterfly Basics stamp set and new Butterfly dies.  I love the laser-type cut of these new dies.  I also embellished with rhinestones, Baker’s Twine, and the tried and true Papillion Potpourri butterfly stamps and coordinating punches.  On my craft desk, I currently have baskets in Pistachio Pudding, Daffodil Delight, Bridal Pink, Wisteria Wonder and Crisp Cantaloupe – all in varying stages of completion.  But seriously – aren’t these just too cute?  And so easy to put together.  Wouldn’t this be beautiful in oranges and browns for fall – or red and green filled with cookies for Christmas?  I can think of soooooooooooo occasions for this basket!

This is our final project for the March Stamp Camp.  I hope you can make it.  A reminder of dates and times – March 5th (2 – 9 PM), 6th (2 – 9 PM) and March 7th (9 AM – 4 PM). You can come whenever it is most convenient for you. As always, all materials and supplies are covered in the $12.00 charge and we will be doing the 4 projects you have seen on the blog posts.  I am more than happy to set up an alternate time or provide a kit for you if you are unable to make it to Stamp Camp.  Don’t forget about Sale-A-Bration and your ability to choose one of the free items with a $50 purchase.

Please give me a call or drop me an e-mail if you have any questions or concerns.  Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 – paperrose01@aol.com
