OH, HAPPY DAY

We have not created any easel tent cards in quite a while.  For April Stamp Camp, we are going to create not one – but 2 easel cards!

This bright and cheery tent card comes to us from the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set with matching dies.  The Dandy Designs DSP that was free with the Sale-A-Bration campaign gives us the perfect bright background for our card.  This stamp set features a foxy fox, a playful rabbit, and my favorite – the flower-bearing turtle.  We have Balmy Blue clouds, a Tahitian Tide and white kite, flowers sprouting from a tree stamp and of course – Mr. Turtle.  Stampin’ Blends in assorted colors are used to make our images come to life.

Our easel tent card starts out with a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 11 X 4 1/4.  The cardstock is scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2.  I find it easier to score at 4 1/4, then flip the cardstock and score at 2 1/2   After the cardstock is folded with crisp score lines, we see the tent shape form as the image to the right shows.  Our “Oh Happy Day” sentiment is popped up on Dimensionals and keeps the top part of the card from flopping open..  If needed, double Dimensionals could be used to increase the height of the sentiment.  I added more flowers and 2 Tahitian Tide butterflies.  Although you can’t see the m, 3 small rhinestones are used in the centers of 3 flowers.

 

The open card is difficult to see.  A strip of DSP is adhered to the bottom of the 4 X 4 Basic White cardstock message layer  This card would be perfect for adults and children and can celebrate many occasions.

April Stamp Camp is right around the corner.  The dates are Thursday-Friday-Saturday, March 30, March 31, and April 1st.  Because of Easter celebrations, we need time to send our Easter cards so they arrive on time.  The times of April Stamp Camp are 10am – 4pm each day.  You can come when it is convenient for you.  The cost remains the same – $3,50 per card. 

Don’t forget than I’m offering a 20% product discount on all Stampin’Up items except Paper Pumpkin.  This is the ideal time to replenish cardstock and Stampin’ Blends or purchase a die set that can be used for many different occasions.

SWEET ICE CREAM

Sweet Ice cream is a fun card and perfect for our hot summer weather.  However, it makes me hungry for an ice cream cone!

“I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream”  This sweet set is current and found on page 32 of the annual catalog.  The set coordinates with the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch found on page 149.

 

I chose to use Bermuda Bay as my highlight color for this first sample.  I love the colors in the scoops of ice cream and they are loaded into my favorite waffle cones.  The strip of blackberry bliss, the ice cream scoops and the waffle cone are all compliments of the Ice Cream Corner DSP.  Although the DSP retired on May 1, the scoops and cones stamp nicely and have the variation seen in the DSP.

The second sample features Blackberry Bliss as the highlighted color.  The stamped Happy Birthday is stamped on a tag as I dripped water on the original stamping.  Aren’t you starting to thing about blueberry and pistachio ice cream?

I will admit I was a little carried away with the sprinkles stamp!  Much more controlled on my first sample message.  Although hard to see, the card fronts are embellished with 3 rhinestones.  The message used “with sprinkles on top” is appropriate for many occasions and Happy Birthday, Thinking of You, etc. could also be added.  This would be a great card for a guy or a child.
