A WEE BIT IRISH

I think everyone is “a wee bit Irish” – don’t you?  I like to offer a St. Patrick’s Day card each year as it’s a fun time to remember our friends – Irish or not.  The message on our card is perfect for so many!

IMG_6693This Evening Evergreen card is just a “wee bit green.”  I found some retired Berry Delightful DSP and the reverse side is perfect for our Irish lass.  The largest Scalloped Contours Die on white gives a bit of frill for our dancing girl.  Lucky Clover is the Stampin’ Up set used along with the Lucky Clover punch.  I love the little row of stamped shamrocks on the envelope and running up the top left of the card.  Although hard to see, green glimmer paper shadows the large shamrock and is the top smaller shamrock on the left.  Our Irish Lass and the green butterflies come to us from Etsy – resized and cut with the Brothers Stamp’n Cut.  Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends are used to over-color the hat ribbon, bodice and shoes.  Wink of Stella is the crowning touch.

IMG_6696The message layer features a message that is perfect for all our friends:

A GOOD FRIEND IS LIKE A FOUR-LEAF CLOVER.  HARD TO FIND  & LUCKY TO HAVE.

The message is stamped in Evening Evergreen on the second-largest Scalloped Contour die-cut white cs.  2 punched or die-cut shamrocks embellish the message layer.

This is a cute card to have on hand as St. Patrick’s Day approaches.  I bet you can think of 3-4 people who would enjoy receiving this.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns,

Irish Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

St. Pat the Gnome

02.22.22 St Pat the Gnome

Can you tell that I really like gnomes?  I think they are little fun creatures.  For March Stamp Camp we have a set of leprechaun gnomes featuring a shamrock, horseshoe, and rainbow.  The gnomes rest on a background of Stampin’ Up Simply Marbleous DSP embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.  Note the curved corners on the 3 layers of card stock. The Detailed Trio Punch makes curving those corners a cinch.  Added shamrocks in Shaded Spruce and Call Me Clover embellish the top card layer.  Touches of Wink of Stella add glimmer.

Although I have very few Irish friends to send this card to, I thought the Irish Blessing used for the message layer would make this card appropriate for anyone.  This is a blessing I would wish for all my friends and family.  The blessing is printed in green, die cut and layered on a Shaded Spruce scalloped circle.  A cheerful shamrock adds and additional Irish touch.

This is the first card for a very varied March Stamp Camp.  And YES – we will be having Stamp Camp in my home.  Regarding masks, I am waiting to see what our Governor will declare on February 28th.  I’m hoping for mask optional.  Norb and I have been Covid-free thus far.  I know many of you have not been that fortunate.  If you prefer Cards to Go, you just need to let us know.

So – dates/time:  Thursday March 3rd from 10 am to 4 pm, Friday March 4th from 10 am to 4 pm, and Saturday March 5th from 9 am to 4 pm.  If you will have limited time for stamp camp, please alert us to that fact and we will prep part of your cards.  If you need assistance with coloring and fine motor skill tasks, let us know and we will help.   Just please let us know as soon as you can what cards you wish to do and when you plan on coming.  Thus far, it does not appear there is a snow storm scheduled for the March Stamp Camp time period, but we never know what Mother Nature has planned.

Don’t forget that I am featuring a 20% discount on all Stampin’Up products.  This is a personal discount that I try to give twice a year.  Also, Sale-A-Bration ends February 28th.  We are using Simply Marbleous DSP on 2 of our projects for March Stamp Camp,  And the Friendly Hello Bundle from Sale-A-Bration is one of our featured March Cards.  Check out these Free products at Sale-A-Bration in my Stampin’Up Store

Stay tuned for our next card!  Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630-965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

DARLING DONKEYS

02.19.21 Darling Donkeys birthdayWhen discussing the free items  offered with Sale-A-Brations this year, someone said to me “What could you use donkey stamps for?”  I’ve seen lots of ideas and decided to offer 2 cards for March Stamp Camp featuring Darling Donkeys – one of the free Sale-a-Bration items offered with a $50 purchase (before shipping and tax).  This card also features the Oh So Ombre DSP which is another free offering.  We used the Brother Scan’nCut to cut out our donkeys and the word “Happy”.  This birthday version of the card is embellished with a balloon floating off a donkey’s tail while the other donkey offers a rose between his teeth.

02.19.21 Darling Donkeys St Pats cardThe green St. Patrick’s Day version is very similar but features a shamrock floating of the donkey’s tail while the other donkey offers a shamrock between his teeth.  Two cards that are very similar yet different.  Stampin’ Blends are used to color the donkeys.  The new blending brush is used to give a blue sky background.  These new brushes are much easier to use than traditional sponges as they are much softer.

02.19.21 Darling Donkeys SP messagePlease ignore the mysterious blue shadow.  The sentiment layer for our St. Patrick’s Day card says it all and has another donkey kicking its heels in celebration. Note the tiny green bow embellishing the donkey’s neck.  02.19.21 Darling Donkeys birthday message

The birthday version simply uses a different message with the same donkey celebrating the occasion.

We’ve used 2 more items from the Sale-A-Bration offerings – the Darling Donkeys and the Oh So Ombre DSP.  Remember – Sale-a-Brations ends February 28th as does my 20% discount.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

SPRINGTIME JOY

02.19.21 Springtime Joy cardSpringtime Joy was at the top of my Wish List when I received my January – June 2021 Mini Catalog.  We decided to feature the images on a Z-card. These sweet animals are perfect with a touch of color and springy gingham DSP (designer series paper).  Small pearls embellish the flower crowns the little lamb and bunny are wearing, and a small bow is the perfect topper for the sweet lamb.

02.19.21 Springtime Joy openWhen the card is open, the message appears as well as a panel of embossed Calypso Coral.  The stamp set features both Easter and spring sentiments as well as 2 flowers and a cute Easter basket.

I’m happy to let you know that March Stamp Camp will once again take place in my home.  The Covid-19 infection rate has dropped tremendously.  We will still need to wear masks, keep our hands super clean and wipe down tools before they are used by others.  For eating, the options are to sit in your car with the heat on, or limit eating to occasional bites and chewing with your mask in place.  Sadly, Norb and I have been unable to find vaccinations and we are still super careful.

March Stamp Camp will be held on Thursday March 4th from 10am – 4pm, Friday March 5th from 10am – 4pm, and Saturday from 9 am – 4pm.  The cost is the same as last year – $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for each card over 4.  We have cards for spring, Easter, and even St. Patrick’s Day!  Lots of creative fun and relaxation.  The Blog Posts will all be up on February 20th.  Please let me know shortly after that if you will be coming and which cards you wish to do.  If you are concerned about being with others and would prefer doing your cards in your home, please please please let me know early so I can prepare your kit.

Don’t forget about the 20% discount and Sale-a-Brations special.  Both end on February 28th.

Stay warm!  Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

SUNSHINE & RAINBOWS

02.21.18 Springtime 1On this cheerful card, we have Party Panda helping Sunshine & Rainbows declare springtime smiles.  The watercolor background has been colored with Brusho which is a highly pigmented Watercolor ink crystal. I die cut and adhered 3 layers of white clouds and several single clouds.  The die cut rainbow follows ROYGBIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.  Each color spectrum is adhered to a backing to allow for stability.  The panda declares the sentiment and a glimmering sun speaks of warm days to come.  Wink of Stella was brushed on the rainbow and judiciously to the panda.  The art scene was layered onto Pacific Point cs and then onto the Daffodil Delight card.  Voila – instant spring.

02.21.18 St. Pats 2  Our second sample is the St. Paddy’s version.  Our sentiment changes and a “pot of gold” is found at the end of the rainbow.  You can choose either card.

A word about Brusho.  As noted above, Brusho is a highly pigmented Watercolor ink crystal. Stampin’ Up sells a box of 5 colors – red, yellow, gamboge, blue and Moss Green.  You can sprinkle the crystals directly on water-washed paper and watch the colors burst!  For this project, I prefer sprinkling the crystals on the dry water color paper and then adding the water.  You can swish the color around with a brush, add more water, add more crystals and even wipe the watercolor paper off with a paper towel to soften the effect.  We will be doing more with Brusho next month but I wanted you to experiment a bit with it this month.

This is the final post for March Stamp Camp.  I hope you can join us on March 1st from 1 pm to 7 pm, March 2nd from 2 pm to 7 pm, or March 3rd from 9 am to 4 pm.  It is helpful if you can let me know which day you might be coming.  For the month of April, our theme will be “friends.”  The dates are April 5, 6, and 7 so mark your calendars now.

Don’t forget the February 20% discount and the current Sale-A-Brations promotion.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Blessings, Rosemary – (home)630/759-3089 – (cell)630/965-1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
