Birthday Blossoms Scallop Square Swing Card

2015-08-30 2015-08-30 001 001The die for this fun swing card is one of my recent Zulilly online purchases.  The only caveat I discovered after receiving the die, was that it is a 5” square card and would not fit in the standard A2 envelope.  I resolved that issue by folding the longer side of the card back 1” so that the card easily fits the standard card envelope.  The Pretty Petals DSP Stack has the vibrant butterfly DSP that is used on this card.  The tiny butterflies are in Old Olive, Mint Macaroon (new), Pacific Point, and Calypso Coral.  The flowers featured on the scallop square that swings to the front are from the Birthday Blossoms set , stamped in Calypso Coral, punched out with the pansy punch, and sponged heavily in Calypso Coral.

2015-08-30 2015-08-30 001 005The fussy cut leaves are stamped in Old Olive on Mint Macaroon.  Assorted embellishments are available to use in flower centers.  Although Candy Dots are shown in the view above, the other sample features the White Perfect Accents that I colored blue with a Sharpie.  Rhinestones would also look great!  Happy Birthday is one of 3 messages that can be die cut in Pacific Point and adhered to the front.

The scallop square that swings to the back carries our message stamped in either Pacific Point or Old Olive on Mint Macaroon.  Several tiny flowers are stamped in Calypso Coral and fussy cut.  Assorted butterflies are precut from the Embosslits Beautiful Wings and adhered to carry the butterfly theme from front to back.  Although not shown in these images, the back 1” flap features the multi-colored butterfly DSP.

As I look back on the 4 cards we will be doing for September Stamp Camp, I realize there are NO BOWS!!!!!  Two of the cards utilize ribbon in a simple straight line.  I’m sure several of you are happy about the “bow-less” cards.  As a reminder, September Stamp Camp is 2-9 PM on the 3rd and 4th, and 9 AM – 4 PM on the 5th.  The cost for the 4 cards is $12.00.  If you are unable to attend and would prefer picking up a kit, please give me advance notice. I want you to enjoy crafting – have fun, be creative, and relax!  If you know what day you will be attending, it’s helpful if you give me a heads-up, but certainly  not required.

Looking ahead, the October Stamp Camp will be held October 1, 2, and 3 and will feature Leaves, Ghosts, & Christmas.  I am quite excited as we will be doing some super cards.  Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Snowflake Swing Card

Snowflake flip flop

Yes, we will be “swinging snowflakes” at the Paperrose01 October Stamp Camp!  Christmas is coming.   This set (Snowflake Card Thinlits Dies – $32.95) is part of the “All is Calm” suite in the Stampin’ Up holiday catalogue. Note the view of these dies:  Snowflake Card Thinlits DiesI don’t like to pay $32.95 for a die set, but this set provides dies for a heart, tree, 2 snowflakes, a banner, “joy”,  “brrr” and “snow,” in addition to the actual snowflake card.   I almost created the card with the All is Calm DSP (Lost Lagoon, Pear Pizzazz, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky) but decided to jump right into the red and green holiday color scheme.  The Nordic Noel DSP provided just the colors I was looking for. The card was cut at 5 7/16 X 8 1/2 in order to provide the third panel for a message.  “Snowflake flip flop open The “Letterpress Winter” stamp set ($25.95) coordinates with the Snowflake die set and provides the image for the large snowflake.  Dies from the snowflake thinlits set cut the Garden Green and small Calypso Coral snowflakes with a rhinestone shining from the center.    “Joy” has been cut in both Whisper White and Garden Green with the green providing the shadow effect.  Real Red, Garden Green and Calypso Coral candy dots embellish the lower, outer portion of the closed card.  Small snowflakes in white, Calypso Coral and Garden Green embellish the inside panel of the card.  Additional snowflakes could be added to the card front but it is important to remember the concept that “less is more.”  This festive card could be done in many different color combinations and would be appropriate for any of the winter months.

This is the first of 4 holiday cards we will be making at the Paperrose01 Stamp Camp on October 2 (2 – 9 PM), October 3 (2 – 9 PM) and October 4 (9 AM – 4 PM).  Other times can be arranged if this does not work for you.  We will be creating this Snowflake Swing Card, a Christmas or Halloween Easel Card (you choose), a Trim the Tree card, and a Graphic 45 card from the “An Eerie Tale” paper series.  The cost for this stamp camp is $12.00.  If you prefer a kit, please let me know as soon as  you can and allow 2 days for kit preparation.  Cost for the kit is also $12.00.

I will be holding 2 special classes in addition to the November 6, 7, 8 stamp camp and the December 4, 5, 6 stamp camp.

Iris Folding – two cards (one Christmas, one fall) on Friday October 17th from 3 – 5 PM and 7 – 9 PM; Saturday October 18th from 10 AM – 12 N and 1 – 3 PM. As I will need to demonstrate and give verbal instructions, I am giving specific times. The cost will be $9 and will include all materials and supplies. I will require a firm commitment for this class due to the materials I must purchase and prepare.  We will be working with several mediums – ribbon, felt, washi paper, and foils.  Iris Folding is beautiful and so easy! You just need one or two good eyes and patience!

Stamp-A-Stack – 3 or 4 (your choice) each of 5 different Christmas cards (total of 15 or 20 cards.) Thursday November 13th and Friday November 14th from 2 – 9 PM and Saturday November 15th from 9 AM to 4 PM. These cards will be totally different from cards done at Stamp Camp and will use different stamp sets. I will require a firm commitment for the stamp-a-stack due to the number of cards that must be prepped.  Samples and price will be posted.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding stamp camp or the upcoming two special classes.  Fall Blessings, Rosemary – 630/759-3089 – paperrose01@aol.com
