IN THE MOMENT

04.21.22 Idn the MomentI love this girly stamp set!  “SOMETIMES THE MOST PRODUCTIVE THING YOU CAN DO IS RELAX!”  Haven’t we all reached this point?  A cup of coffee and gazing out the window is simply all we have left in us!  I don’t have a window seat, but I often sit at the patio door luxuriating in the warm sun and watching the birds fight at the bird feeder.  This scene has been stamped on the Sale-A-Brations Simply Marbleous Pool Party that I copied in the printer on a light setting.  The image is colored with Stampin’ Blends, die cut and layered on a Bermuda Bay glimmer scallop circle.  The sentiment is also layered on the glimmer cs.  The bookbinder edge features Bermuda Bay striped DSP and thin gold-edged ribbon.   The bookbinder fun fold gives us a card with a bookish feel.

04.21.22 In the Moment Wine

Our second sample features our lady peering over a railing with a glass of wine while birds fly on the horizon.  Is she on a ship looking over the railing or in her yard?  is she sipping pinot noir or burgundy?  I prefer thinking she is on a small ship touring the Great Lakes with a glass of Pinot Grigio in her hand.  Like the sample above, our image is colored with Stampin’ Blends, die cut and layered on a Bermuda Bay scallop circle.

04.21.22 In the Moment Message LayerThe message layer is simple – a strip of the DSP and a bird colored Bermuda Bay with Stampin Blends.  Ready for your message of choice.

As I am taking the month of June off, make sure you plan ahead for needed birthday cards.  We won’t be doing regular cards again until August as July will be Christmas in July.

I hope you can make it for our Cinco de Mayo Stamp Camp.  We will celebrate with tortilla chips and salsa!  The dates and times:  Thursday May 5 from 10am to 4pm, Friday May 6th from 10am to 4pm and Saturday May 7th from 9am to 4pm.  The cost remains $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for each additional card.  Cards To Go are available.  Feel free to bring a drink to sustain you but we will have water and sodas as always.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know which cards you wish to make and what day works best for you to come.  If you are running on a tight schedule or need a bit of help with the cards, please make me aware.

APRIL RAIN BOOTS

03.23.22 Boots BloomWe are certainly ready for our next card thanks to all our rain.  But as hubby would say, rain is better than ice and snow.!  However, Flowering Rain Boots is another Stampin’Up bundle I really like.  We used a strip of the Flowering Fields tulip DSP and made a Bookbinder Fold – a new fun fold for me.  The main difference is an additional score line at 5 1/2” which allows for the 1” strip that is adhered to the card base.  Because the card front was smaller, the Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder was used.  There are folders in this set and they are not as wide as the standard folders.  Note the embossed dots shown on the background.

03.23.22 Boots EasterThe second sample shows more of a hound’s-tooth background.  The rainboots in the first sample were stamped in Cajun Craze while the sample to our right is stamped in Cinnamon Cider. The Cajun Craze has much more orange in it than the Cinnamon.  I recommend using the Stamparatus for stamping the boots to allow for a second application of ink.  The tulips are stamped in Pumpkin Pie and die-cut.  The Evening Evergreen stamped stems insert directly into the boots thanks to the use of an X-Acto knife.  Bumblebee gingham ribbon embellish the fold with the addition of a small bow which Debbie so graciously made.  Although several sentiments could be used, I thought Easter Blessings, and Live Life in Full Bloom were appropriate.

03.23.22 Boots Bloom Message TulipThe message layer can be stamped with the cluster of daisies shown above on the envelopes, or you can be creative and actually make a tulip as I have done here.  The Tulips Dies make 3 different tulip styles. I chose a 3-D style here and die-cut the petals from the free Marbleous DSP from Sale-A-Brations.  The addition of a stamped and die-cut leaf and stem add to the realistic look.

As a reminder, April Stamp Camp is March 31, April 1 and April 2.  May Stamp Camp will be on May 5, 6 and 7 at normal times.  Christmas in July will be July 14th, 15th and 16th.  Mark your calendars now.

I think the next post will be the crazy Spring Gnomes!

UNDER MY UMBRELLA

Hi crafters!  I’ve kept in touch with many of you during our Shelter in Place/Quarantine but just so you know, I am still alive and kicking.  Covid-19 has not hit any of our 30+ family members and we continue to wear masks, wash hands, and social distance.  However, we still need to communicate with friends and family so stamping and paper crafting must continue.  With the help of my Scan and Cut, I have developed 4 cards that will be for a Non-Stamp Camp.  What month?  I imagine we can consider it June Non-Stamp Camp!

The first card is in keeping with our wet wet spring!

05.30.20 Rain or Shine 1Under my Umbrella is a cute and cheerful card – even with the rain drops!  And this set is in the new 20-21 StampinUp! Catalog.  Of course the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper (DSP) is retiring but the stamp set and umbrella punch are staying with us.  The DSP provides the rainy background and the darling umbrellas.

05.30.20 Rain or ShineThe umbrellas vary in color and pattern but everyone will receive coordinating colors.  The flowers and boots are stamped in black and cut out with the Scan And Cut.  You can color them as you wish.  I chose Stampin’ Blends in light and dark Granny Apple, Calypso Coral, Mango Melody, Highland Heather and Rococo Rose for the flowers and black for the boots.  5 rhinestones are added to flower centers for some dazzle.  I recommend Stampin’ Dimensionals for a 3D effect.  A cluster of flowers is tucked slightly inside a boot.  Wink of Stella will make all your images pop,  If you are out of Wink, I have several.

05.30.20 Rain or Shine msg full umbThe message layer features raindrops in Balmy Blue to match the card and the DSP.  A third umbrella is available to adhere on the message layer along with another cluster of flowers.

This set comes with several sentiments.  I will include 3 of the sentiments die cut with Stitched So Sweetly Dies.  The 3 sentiments are: LIFE’S SHOWERS BRING LOVE’S FLOWERS, NO MATTER THE WEATHER WE’RE FRIENDS FOREVER, and RAIN OR SHINE YOU’RE ALWAYS ON MY MIND.

05.30.20 Rain or Shine msg partial umbHaving your choice of 3 sentiments allows you to choose what you want, perhaps adhere one of the others on the message layer, or simply add to your library.  This message layer shows a partly open umbrella. You may receive a fully open or partially open umbrella for the message layer.  The umbrella handles are punched from sturdy black glimmer cs.

If you are interested in this Non-Stamp Camp, the cost remains $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for any additional cards.  Please contact me by text, phone or E-mail to let me know which cards you wish to make.

Depending on how the pandemic progresses, I am giving thought to in home Stamp Camp with a limit of 4 crafters at a time, well distanced and wearing masks.  This will require sterilization of all supplies in between use. If enough of you are interested, I will consider this as a possibility for July.

Healthy Blessings, Rosemary – (home)630.759.3089 – (cell/text)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
