TIMELESS TIDING TAGS

I think a gift is much more personal if it includes a handmade gift tag.  Daughter Debbie and I had fun creating these and now you can make them for your gifts.

 11.21.18 Cookie Cutter Tags

We have precut assorted colors of card stock to 5 X 2”.  This size fits the Banner Triple Punch and the 3 topper punches.  In this image, you can see 2 of the topper punches I have.  You can cut a different color slightly smaller piece of cs as I have done with the white here.  The second color is 4 7/8 X 3 3/4 – 4” and is finished with an edging punch.

The Cookie Cutter gingerbread people are some of my favorites and they make such a cute tag! The stamps are available for several hats, hat trim, bow ties, and buttons.  A small circular sentiment was added and the “To and From” message is on the back side of the tag.

11.21.18 hand colored tagI must admit that this is my favorite gift tag.  It is from the Many Blessings stamp set.  The images were stamped with Memento black and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The “MERRY Christmas” stamp is included in the set.  I tried to choose the available Baker’s Twine to coordinate with some aspect of the card.  The Baker’s Twine can also be colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The “To and From” sentiment is on the back of these tags.

11.21.18 Snowmen tagsIf you are into punch art, this is the tag for you!  Santa faces are created from assorted punches, glimmer paper, and googley eyes.  We trimmed this tag to make it a bit shorter.  The Santa face could be moved lower and the “To and From” sentiment could be placed on the front or the back.

11.21.18 Snowman tags Snowmen also make cute gift tags.  These are also punch art creations, but are a bit simpler to punch and make than the Santa faces.  The Snowman smile is actually punched from small circle punches and/or balloon punches.  The hat is formed from a small square punch and the word window punch.

11.21.18 Reindeer tagsIf you want to make a fast tag or two – choose the reindeer.  This is a very simple gift tag.  Simply punch out the reindeer and star either in glimmer or metallic cs or a mixture of the two.  A simple “To and From” punched and layered on coordinating glimmer cs and you are almost done.  I added 3 strands of 6” copper cording to the left image and 2 strands of 8” Baker’s Twine to the right image.

11.21.18 Odd tagsI will admit I was “fooling” around with these 2 tags.  The tree tag is pretty simple.  The Washi tape was colored with the Shaded Spruce Stampin Blend to coordinate. The penguin tag has a very busy Washi Tape background.  I took a basic tag and I punched the banner and topper.  I then took a second basic tag, punched it to match and adhered the two together.  This way the tag was neat and the messy Washi tape backing was hidden.

11.21.18 Snowflake tag

The snowflake tag is our final idea.  These are retired wood or plastic snowflakes that are adhered to a double tag.  The Wood Textures DSP is perfect for this wintry tag.  It is backed with a regular cs tag to provide the weight to handle to heavier snowflakes.  This is a very quick and easy tag!  The “To and From” message is on the back.

These tags are ideas from Daughter Debbie and me.  There are other punches that can be used and lots of paper.  Try to think “out of the box” and see what you can come up with.  Debbie went thru my miscellaneous drawer and pulled lots of embellishments you can use to make tags with, in addition to our ideas.

You can do all tags, all calendars, do all stained glass window cards – the choice is yours.  I just ask that you let me know when you may be coming and if you wish to do the stained glass window cards – how many of which one.  As a reminder, December Stamp Camp is being held on Thursday November 29th from 12 Noon to 7 PM, Friday November 30 from 2 – 7 PM, and Saturday December 1st from 9 AM – 4 PM.  The cost is $12 and covers whatever you choose to make.  Soda and water and some type of goodies will be provided for your enjoyment.

I have decided to take the month of January off from Stamp Camp.  The craft room needs a major overhaul and I HATE the cold weather.  So, our next Stamp Camp will be on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, February 7, 8 and 9.  We will have a Valentine plus everyday theme.  I will be putting out a 2019 calendar in January and will keep you advised of Stampin’Up specials.  Your new Occasions Catalog and Stampin’Up Sale-A-Brations brochure will be arriving in December.

Have a wonderful Christmas!  Rosemary – ( H )630.759.3089 – ( C )630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

CHRISTMAS SWEATERS

2017.09.16 Sweater Garden GreenChristmas Sweaters is such a fun card!  This is designed as a Z card and uses the retired Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I chose my favorite sweaters that were fun to color and not to difficult to fussy cut.  There are several DSP designs to choose from as well as assorted Textured Embossing Folders.  In this image, the argyle folder was used.  The sentiment tag comes from the retired Stitched With Cheer stamp set.  The sentiment is layered on matching colored cs and is held together with Multi-colored Cotton Yarn from Hobby Lobby.  The message layer features a fourth sweater.

2017.09.16 Sweater CobblerCan you tell what my 3 favorite sweaters are????  This sample is done in Cherry Cobbler.  Note how the ribbon coordinates with the card.  The multi-colored yard allows you to cut into it to find the color you are looking for.   Although hard to tell, the striped sweaters feature a rhinestone in the snowflake center.  The Santa card features a rhinestone at the end of his hat.  I found larger rhinestones which we will be using for stamp camp.  The gingerbread sweater is highlighted with a yellow star embellishment and small candy dots on several of the stamped candies.  Wink of Stella was also used to add a bit of glimmer.  Beware the Wink picking up the SU marker color.  I cleaned my SU brush frequently.  The Copic markers did not have that issue.  Aren’t these cute cards.  If you are concerned about the time it takes to color and cut them out, you can always make the card and complete the sweaters at home during your leisure time.

Snow Globe Holiday Tag

Snow Globe Tag 1AASweet Snowglobe is the final holiday tag we will be making at the Dec 3rd and 4th Tags and More Stamp Camp.  I decided on shades of blue as my color scheme with Garden Green trees and a Red Riding Hood house.  I adhered “snow” to the sky, tree, house and ground before adding extra “snow” to the globe.  Wouldn’t you love to finish off a special gift by adding this tag?

What’s next?  Check in tomorrow for money/check/gift card holders for the holidays!

Holiday Milk Carton

IMG_1450The Stampin’ Up Milk Carton die makes an adorable container for candies and other little gifts.  This box can be used any time during the year, but is especially cute for Christmas.  I textured this carton with a texturz plate as an embossing folder would have taken out the score lines from the die.  The bird and border were punches from a scrap piece of Deck the Halls Designer Series Paper.  Although the top of the box could have been partly closed with an open spout, I preferred to simply close the top with a library clip.  This will allow the recipient to reuse the box.  Although it is not viewable, there is a “to from” tag hanging from the side of the carton.

IMG_1454These are the 3 holiday milk cartons I made today.  Each features a library clip closure in a different color.  The “dec. 25” carton has striped paper in olive, red and vanilla decorating the sides and a dainty little bow on the top.  We will be making these cute cartons at our Dec 3rd and 4th Tags and More Stamp Camp.  This will be an “embellish as you wish” project.  Don’t forget to let me know if you’re coming.  Check in tomorrow for another Stamp Camp idea.

Another Holiday Gift Tag Idea

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and celebrated the day with your loved ones.  I was NOT one of those who attacked Black Friday although I did do a big of shopping on Amazon.com.

The Scallop Envelope die is absolutely perfect for gift tags for any occasion.  They  finished product is elegant but fast and simple to make.  The envelope can be left open with the message peeking out and showing off the designer series paper.  This is another one of the tags we will be making at the December 3rd and 4th Tags and More Stamp Camp.   Are you planning on attending?  If so, contact me a call at 630-759-3089 or paperrose01@aol.com.  Watch for another stamp camp project tomorrow!

And even MORE tags

Candycane tag 2A Gift tags don’t have to be fancy – a bit of card stock, a small piece of ribbon or cording,  and maybe some designer paper and you are set!!!  Here we see samples done simply in red and white.  It’s time for you to show your creativity!

IMG_1385Gift tags don’t have to be big!  This small tag uses the 1 3/8” scallop square and  1 1/4” square punches.  A small holiday image and some twine finishes off this tag which is perfect for a small holiday gift!  This tag takes a mere 2 minutes to create but is a small gift from the heart.  How about 10 of these placed in a cellophane bag and tied with a cheery bow – a great gift for a friend.  You could do this same tag with the scallop circle and circle punches!

Holiday gift tags don’t have to be in traditional Christmas colors.  This playful pink tag is edged in red marker and decorated with lacy snowflakes highlighted with rhinestones.

The gift tags above are 4 more of the projects we will be making at the December 3rd and 4th Tags and More Stamp Camp.  More projects to come…. Don’t forget to let me know if you will be coming.  So far we have 4 folks for Friday and 2 for Saturday.  Plenty of space remains!!!!

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.  I am not cooking as hubby is treating the family to dinner at the Bolingbrook Golf Club.  I will enjoy this immensely as I AM NOT DOING THE COOKING!!!

More Christmas Tags???

Snowman tag 2

I love this darling Snowman tag!  Once again – we use punches for everything including the holly tucked into the brim of the little black hat.  I decided at the last minute to add a bit of blush to the snowman’s cheeks so I rubbed my little finger lightly on the Regal Rose stamp pad and added the color literally by hand (or would that be by finger!)

This is another tag we will be making at our Holiday Tags & More Stamp Camp on December 3rd and 4th.  Stay tune for more tags to come….

Holiday Tags and More

Penguin tag 1

Well, I am really having a time trying to figure out my blog settings.  I am not the most technical person in the world and the headings have changed so I am basically lost!  Anyway, no matter what, Christmas is coming and so is the Holiday Tags & More Stamp Camp!  The tags start here!  The first 4 tags to be featured are all done with punches, punches and more punches!  We see the Warm Wishes Penguin and Rudolph the Reindeer here.  These tags are fun to make and OH so CUTE!  The next picture shows the inside of the tag – you just flip the top tag away, and write your sentiment on the next layer.

Penguin tag open

These are two of the tags that will be featured at the Holiday Tags & More Stamp Camp on Friday December 4th (4 p.m. – ???) and Saturday December 5th (9 a.m. – ???).  The cost has not been finalized but will be between $10 and $12.  My hubby keeps asking me what we will be making and my response is  – “I don’t know yet!”  In addition to tags, we will be creating three different holders for gift cards/cash, plus a holiday milk carton.  One of our tags will be a snow globe – my project for tomorrow!  I know many people are busy this first weekend of December!  I would be very helpful if you would let me know if  you are coming.  I know several are unable to attend, but I don’t want to cut paper for 10-12 if 5-6 plan on attending. So…PLEASE let me know if you are coming (www.paperrose01@aol.com

Stay tuned for more tags tomorrow!!!
