The Tree

I’ve entitled the second card for our June Stamp Camp, simply The Tree.  The actual set is entitled “Look Up to Father.”  I feel this stately image speaks for itself.

This birthday card was designed for a male, and has lots of texture and detail.  Mossy Meadow, one of the 2014 – 2016 In Colors was used for the card base.  Baked Brown Sugar cs became our tree trunk with Soft Suede ink applied to the Woodgrain Embossing Folder .  Texture was added to the Very Vanilla CS beneath the tree layer. with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Paper piercing was added to the 4 corners of the tree layer and the center was cut out with one of the Starburst Framelits and sponged in Soft Suede.  The tree was stamped in Mossy Meadow and rests on cs below the starburst circle.  As a finishing touch, the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch was used on Mossy Meadow, and Linen Thread was added in an “X” formation.  Note how stately the tree appears on the envelope below the card.  The greeting that comes with the stamp set is shown below. 

This greeting is perfect for Father’s Day, a birthday, or any occasion for a respected Dad or Stepdad.  Sadly, this stamp set will no longer be available after June 1st which is when the Celebrate the Everyday mini catalogue ends.

 

 

 

I thought it would be interesting to carry the paper piercing onto the message sheet.  You can barely see the triangular piercing in the corners which matches the card front.  A line of piercing was also added to the starburst die cut which was left from the card front.  We will be using the Paper Piercing Pack which makes paper piercing a breeze.

This is the second card we will be creating at the June Stamp Camp.  To repeat the dates and times:   Thursday, June 5 and Friday, June 6 from 2 to 9 PM; and Saturday, June 7 from 9 AM to 4 PM. If you have a conflict with these dates/times, please let me know, and we can arrange an alternate date/time – or you can purchase a kit. A kit includes all the materials for the 4 cards, and the stamping, embossing, die cutting, punching, etc. has been done for you. I supply everything except the adhesive.  The kit currently costs the same as attending the stamp camp – $12.00. Such a deal!

My New Most Favorite Set + Join SU for only $50!

I have a brand new most favorite set – WORK OF ART!  This new set is in the new 2014-2015 Stampin’ Up catalogue (pick up your catalogue at the June Stamp Camp) and has won my heart.  Here it is:

Now my first impression of this set was not favorable and I saw quite a few cards created by other SU demonstrators that I did not care for.  BUT…check out this card:

I love the rainbow arcs of color!  This card makes me want to smile.  It is simply a note of cheer that is appropriate for anyone.  We will be making this card at our June Stamp Camp as a birthday card.  However, you can actually use any message you want, turning the card into a thinking of you, congratulations, or other type of card.  You will have the opportunity to use either of the Papillion Potpourri small butterfly stamps and the Bitty Butterfly punch.  Actually, that’s not true as I have already stamped and punched butterflies for everyone.  And the possibilities for this set!  Endless!  Look at the envelopes I stamped to coordinate with my cards.

Aren’t these fabulous!  I feel like a “fabulous work of art!”  And it is sooooooooooooooooo easy to coordinate your message with the card front.  Check out these 4 samples.

Common questions I receive about joining Stampin’ Up! and the Paperroses:

What are the minimum sales requirements?
You only need to submit $300 in sales per quarter. That is less than an average Stampin’ Up! workshop! Also, you can submit your sales in any increment you wish and still receive your 20 percent discount and commission.
What if I want to do this as a hobby and not necessarily a business?
Stampin’ Up! supports all demonstrators, no matter their goals or the level at which they choose to run their business. If you choose not to hold workshops, you can simply place your own orders and/or collect orders from family and friends to equal the $300 quarterly sales minimum.

Can I be my own hostess?
Absolutely yes, you can be your own hostess anytime you want. Invite your family and friends into your home and have a workshop. You will be the hostess, receiving the hostess benefits, as well as the demonstrator benenfits, receiving your instant income and commission. Or just submit orders of your own that total $150 or more!
Do I have to recruit other demonstrators?
No, you are not required to recruit. If you were to sign up new recruits, you would be paid override commissions on their sales. This is a perk, not a requirement

What if I decide that I don’t like it once I’ve started? Will I be penalized if I quit?
You may choose to stop at anytime, and you will not be penalized. You simply stop placing orders
