EVERYTHING WONDERFUL

FLOWERS!  More Flowers!  July Stamp Camp has lots of flowers!  But don’t we all look forward to having flowers in the summer?

06.25.23 Regency Park 1I fell in love with the Regency Park DSP.  I thought this fun fold was a fun way to feature the DSP and show a new look.  The cardstock used is Balmy Blue and Night of Navy with the pop of Mango Melody.  The larger rectangle of DSP is 3 3/4 X 3 and the smaller rectangle is 3 3/4 X 1 1/2.  This card is perfect for those smaller pieces of DSP that seem to mysteriously accumulate.  With a 12 X 12 DSP sheet, you can actually cut 12 – 3 3/4 X 3’ pieces of cardstock.  Consider this format the next time you want to stretch a favorite cardstock as far as possible.

06.25.23 Regency Park 2 with yarn bowThere are 2 minor differences between these 2 samples.  The sample to the right has a white Baker’s Twine bow at the base of the flower and there is a different embellishment type used.  Both embellishments are yellow, but slightly different in shape.  I will have both types available for this card as I’m not sure if there is enough of just one style.  You can choose the ones you prefer, and add a Baker’s Twin bow if you wish.

06.25.23 Regency Park Msg LayerI really like the message layer of the Everything Wonderful card.  The layer is trimmed in DSP to match the front.  The flower stem is actually the top portion of the stem shown on the Mango Melody layer.  The flower is cut die cut from leftover Mango Melody DSP.  We make use of every available scrap!  We are going to see this layout again in August, but it will be a masculine version of the card.

As a reminder, July Stamp Camp is Thursday – Friday – Saturday – July 6, 7, and 8.  The time is 10am – 4pm.  If you need an alternate time, or cards to go, just let me know.  If you could please let me know which cards you wish to make, and what day or days you plan to come, you will help me out a lot.  I will be cutting paper in 5 minutes and need to cut just enough for our stamp camp in order to keep our footprint small.  By letting me know when you will be coming, we can plan a table set-up that works for all of us.

Looking forward to seeing you!  Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

POTTED GERANIUMS

06.25.23 Potted Geranium 1I love geraniums!  When I lived in California, geraniums grew like weeds.  Here in Illinois, my geraniums come from the nursery.  The July Stamp Camp geranium card features geraniums in real red with leaves Garden Green and Parakeet Party.  The pot is stamped in Crumb Cake and Soft Suede.  Red glitter card stock is sparkling behind the Split Card Textures lattice work.  The geranium florets are shown in 2 layers – a flat layer up top, and a raised layer.  Lots of Red Rhinestones embellish the centers of the florets.  A “JUST FOR YOU” plant pick is inserted into the plant soil.  A HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment is shown on this sample and THINKING OF YOU is stamped on the second sample.  Lots of sentiments are available on the Sending Smiles and Sending Hugs stamp sets.

06.25.23 Potted Geranium Msg LayerIf you are choosing to use this card for a birthday, there is a very nice message that comes with the Potted Geraniums stamp set:  BIRTHDAYS ARE REMINDERS THAT LIFE SHOULD BE CELEBRATED.  The label die that is part of the die set is perfect for this message.

We have one more card for July Stamp Camp.  I wonder what flowers are in store for us next?

Please remember to let me know which cards you wish to do and what day you plan on coming,  If you  need cards to go for July, please let me know!

AWASH IN BEAUTY

06.25.23 Beauty Abounds Trio

Awash in Beauty is one of those Stampin’ Up Designer Papers that was crying out to be used.  Sadly, the paper has retired, but I am lucky enough to have a stash hidden in my DSP library.  These cards may look similar to the Dainty Flowers we worked with last month but we are using a 5 1/4 X 4 DSP size.  As you can see, there are 3 different patterns.  The cardstock colors used are Rococo Rose and Merry Merlot.  The corners are embellished with Rococo Rose corner punches which gives the card a classy look.  Note the butterflies.  Again, I went to Graphics Fairy and searched for butterflies that would enhance the card.  I sized them larger than the butterflies we used in July and I added feelers with black monofilament.

06.25.23 Awash in Beauty Butterfly

The butterfly above started out white but I used Light Lemon Lolly, Light Cherry Cobbler, and Light Moody Mauve Blends to come up with this look.  The feelers are added under the butterfly with glue dots although Stampin’ Dimensionals could also be used.

The sentiment “just a little hi from me” comes from the Special Moments stamp set.  Although retired, it is available on eBay.  There are other sentiments that can be used making this card perfect for any occasion.

Don’t forget to let me know which cards you would like to do and when you are planning on attending.  July Stamp Camp is “flower heavy!”  Stay tuned for our next flowers – geraniums!

CHRISTMAS CAROLING

My wonderful husband informed me that Christmas is 6 months from today!  We can start our preparation with this cute Christmas card that will be featured at our July Stamp Camp!

06.25.23 Christmas Caroling no Pom PomsThese cute little mice from the Caroling Mice stamp set (ret) are absolutely darling!  Although hard to see, there is sparkle glitter card stock forming a snowy hill behind the carolers.  Stampin Blends do a great job of providing just the colors you are looking for.  The lamp post provides a cheerful glow thanks to a blending brush and Daffodil Delight ink.  The Scan’N Cut expertly cut out all the images including the little musical notes.

06.25.23 Christmas Caroling with Pom pomsI’ve enlarged this view so you can see the little pom poms on 3 of the hats.  I had ordered pom poms this size but they had not arrived so I took white pom poms and rolled them around in the ink colors I wanted.  The only challenge was the time it took for them to dry – probably 6-8 hours.  But they add a bit of class to the card front.  The ones I ordered have since arrived so you will have the choice of no pom poms, ink colored ones, or the colorful ones from Amazon.

06.25.23 Christmas Caroling Msg LayerOn the message layer, we see the remaining cut of our sparkle glitter card stock.  A cute little Christmas tree is added that is embellished with colored sequins.  An added musical note helps carry the theme thru to the message layer.

July Stamp Camp is July 6, 7, and 8 from 10am to 4pm each day.  You can come whenever you want and stay right up until 4pm.  Feel free to bring a snack or lunch.  As always, we will have a light snack available along with water and soda.

It is helpful if you let me know as soon as possible which cards you choose to make, when you anticipate being here, and if you will need cards to go.

Summer Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com
