JUNE STAMP CAMP

Can you believe June is right around the corner?  I have planned something different for June Stamp Camp.  We will be doing a ONE SHEET WONDER.  A One Sheet Wonder means cutting up one sheet of paper and using it to create several different cards.  The designer series paper we will be using is Dainty Flowers.  We used a different pattern of this lovely DSP last month.  A full sheet of this DSP will make 8 cards – 2 sets of 4 different cards.  You can do 1 set of 4 cards, 2 sets of 4 cards (8), 3 sets of 4 cards (12) and on up.  You will just need to tell me how many sets of cards you wish to make.  The sentiments can be birthday, thinking of you, just for you, hello – or any of the available sentiment stamps.  I chose to use Go To Greetings for my samples but you can choose any sentiment you desire.

05.21.23 View 1The first card – or view 1, comes from the far left side of this pattern of the Dainty Flowers DSP.  The paper was cut at 5 1/4 inches at the top and bottom with a 1 1/2 strip left from the middle.  The 5 1/4  X 12 inch pieces were then cut into 3 inch sections.  As noted above, what we see here is the far left 3 X 5 1/4” section.  The card is done in the bookbinder style.  There are 2 different Wrapped in Texture embossing folders that can be used for the Old Olive strip.  A strip of Baker’s Twine rests in the card fold.   Butterflies from Graphics Fairy were chosen for the 4 cards, 2 of which we see here.  Rhinestones colored with a purple Sharpie embellish the front layer

05.1`.12 View 2The second card – or view 2, comes from the second 3 inch portion of the left side of the DSP.  This simple triangle card layout calls for a 3 X 4 section of DSP.  The original 3 X 5 1/4 piece is trimmed – a little on the top and more on the bottom to allow as much color as possible.  The 3 X 4 section is cut in half and layered on 3 1/4 X 4 1/4 cardstock also cut in half.  Starry Sky was used here.  The sentiment is cut with the Banners Pick A Punch and layered over a thin strip of Starry Sky.  Although hard to see, there are 3 small blue butterflies and 3 blue rhinestones embellishing the card front.

05.21.23 View 3The third card – or view 3, comes from the 3” section that is third from the left, or second from the right strip of Dainty Flowers DSP.  The embossed Blackberry Bliss cs creates a very elegant but simple card.  The retired Swirls and Curls embossing folder adds to the elegance and simplicity.  The DSP is framed in Blackberry Bliss which gives a break between the artwork and the embossed cs.  A single butterfly and 3 pastel pearls embellish this lovely card. No sentiment was added as I felt it would detract from the elegance of the card.

05.21.23 View 4

Our fourth and final card – or view 4 comes from the 3” section of Dainty Flowers DSP that is the right end of the 12”strip of DSP.  This card is done in the flip style and the front panel flips up to show the message layer.  Panels of Crushed Curry festoon both sides of the DSP panel.  The Ornate Floral Embossing Folder provides both interest and depth.  The sentiment uses the Banners Pick A Punch on the ends and is layered over a thin strip of Blackberry Bliss.  2 different butterflies and 3 purple colored rhinestones embellish the card front.

05.21.23 One Sheet Wonder msg layerAt the beginning of this post, I mentioned there was a 12 X 1 1/2 inch strip of Dainty Flowers DSP left from the middle of the 12 X 12 sheet after 5 1/4” was cut off each end for the DSP portion of the 4 cards.  This strip was cut into 4 X 1/2 inch pieces for the message layer of each card and provides a bit of color. The strips for views 1 and 4 will need to trimmed to 3”.

And so we have it – 4 cards from a 12 X 5 1/4” sheet of DSP – or 8 cards from a whole sheet.  You choose how many sets you want – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or more.  Just let me know as soon as you can, how many sets you want and which day you plan on coming, or if you need Cards to Go.  The dates for June Stamp Camp are June 1, 2, and 3 from 10 – 4 each day.  You can come all 3 days or whatever hours work for your schedule.  Just let me know.

Mark your calendars now for July Stamp Camp – July 6, 7 and 8.  We will be doing 1 Christmas card in July and will continue making 1 – 2 Christmas cards per month up until Christmas  We will also be making a geranium card and inking vellum for a fun and decorative card front,

SOFT SEEDLINGS

10.01.22 Soft Seedlings 2Soft Seedlings is a peaceful stamp set – simply a maple leaf and seedlings.  This fall card has a bookbinder fold.  The left panel DSP is a pattern from the Rustic Harvest DSP collection.  These DSP leaves are colored with sponge daubers – a fun technique.  You simply sponge a bit of color on the leaves without worrying about color landing on the black background.  The ink colors used here are Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, Bumblebee, Cajun Craze, and Mossy Meadow.  A strip of Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim and matching shoestring bow are adhered to the left side fold.

10.01.22 Soft Seedlings Msg coloredThe message layer features a thin strip of DSP and a stamped fall leaf like the leaf seen on the envelope.  The strip of DSP can be the colored leaf pattern seen here or can be a strip of the opposite side which features the pattern seen on the front layer of the card,  The Maple leaf and seedlings have been colored with a combination of Pumpkin Pie and Flirty Flamingo.  The Brother Scan’n Cut pre-cut all the leaves and seedings.  The sentiment which is part of the Soft Seedlings set has also been stamped and pre-cut with the Scan’n Cut.  I think you will enjoy coloring with the sponge daubers.

This is the final card for October Stamp Camp – October 6, 7, and 8 – Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10-4.  Please text or e-mail with your choice of cards and what day works best for you to attend.  Remember that Debbi is not available to assist me.  The earlier you can notify me of your choices, the easier it is for me to complete your kits.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
