Val the Gnome

01.22.22 GnomeMeet Val the Valentine Gnome.  Val comes to us from Etsy and has been resized for us to work with and cut with the Scan’n’Cut.  Val is perched on a Merry Merlot card front die cut with the Happy die and embossed with the Tasteful Textile folder.  Val’s sentiment is stamped in Merlot on white cs and layered on Melon Mambo.  The Banner Pick a Punch trims the edges.  Val is holding a gold metallic heart and 4 additional gold hearts embellish the card front.  The card base is Melon Mambo which has also been embossed with the Tasteful Textile folder.

01.22.22 Gnome msgThe message layer features a message from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set – WISHING YOU A LITTLE EXTRA HAPPINESS JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE YOU.  Die-cut hearts in Merry Merlot, Real Red, Melon Mambo and gold embellish this layer.

This card makes up quickly as everything is ready to adhere. I added a touch of Wink of Stella to Val’s flowers, hat and nose.  Adding a little treat such as candy or a cookie along with Val the Gnome Valentine card would make anyone happy.

Several reminders – The card cost remains the same – any 4 cards for $14 and $3 for each additional card.  I am offering a 20% discount on Stampin’Up products thru the end of February.  If I place your order, I will deduct the 20% off the top.  If ordering on-line through paperrose01.stampinup.net, I will send you a check for the 20% or you can deduct the amount off stamp camps. Sale-A-Brations runs thru the end of February.  My goal is to have us celebrate March Stamp Camp back in my home.  We need some cozy time together.  Cards will be ready for pickup on Thursday, February 3rd.  Please let me know if you prefer having them delivered or mailed.

Colorful Valentine

01.22.22 Colorful Hearts frontThis colorful valentine is a fun fold using the Sweet Talk DSP from the January – June Mini Catalog.  Rectangular panels of CS and DSP are cut on the diagonal to form triangles which are layered to give us this eye-catching effect.  The base of the card is an 11 X 4 1/4 piece of Blushing Bride scored at 5 1/2 with one of the sides trimmed off on the diagonal.  This is best seen on the message layer

01.22.22 Colorful Hearts MsgYou can see here that the left side of the card base is cut off on the diagonal.  This diagonal piece is used as the bottom layer of a piece of diagonally cut DSP and Real Red.  The red heart and the message layer are embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D folder.  The red heart is layered onto a Gorgeous Grape scalloped heart.  The message layer features a 3” basic white heart with Happy Valentines Day stamped in Gorgeous Grape.  The heart is large enough for you to add your handwritten message.  Note the red bird perched in the lower right corner.  This is a fun – fun fold. All the pieces of paper are cut and ready to layer.  All that is needed is your creative touch.

Just want to reiterate that I am planning on March Stamp Camp being held at my house.  The current COVID variant appears to be waning and I’m hoping that March will be a safe time to join together.

Remember – 20% SU product discount for February.  Just in time to take advantage of SALE-A-Brations which ends February 28, 2022.

February Card-to-Go will be ready for pickup on Thursday, February 3rd.  Make sure you let me know which cards you choose to do.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

OTTERLY AWESOME

01.22.22 Otter VDIsn’t this card just too cute?  And this set – AWESOME OTTERS – is free with SALE-A-BRATIONS thru the end of February (they sell out.) With the 20% February discount I am offering, perhaps you can pick up this cute set.  Debbie used the Subtle Embossing Folder to give the red background a linen-like finish.  The Sweet Talk DSP is featured in the January-June Stampin’Up Mini Catalog and is Real Red and Petal Pink.  The row of Blushing Bride hearts is from a die in the Sweet Conversations Bundle also in the mini catalog.  It is actually 2 rows of hearts joined in the center.  The sweet otter is colored with Stampin’ Blends and holds a row of horizontal die-cut hearts.  The sentiment and otter are stamped and die cut in circular shapes and layered onto scallop circles.  Red rhinestones add the finishing touch.

01.22.22 Otter Red msgThe message layer Debbie created is very similar to the one used for the Valentine wreath card.  We have a strip of the Sweet Talk DSP and the LOVE heart.  However, the “Happy to have you in my life” message on a Blushing Bride heart is included so you can use that to embellish your message if preferred.

01.22.22 Otter Blush msgHere is the link for the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog so you can see the fun Valentine bundle we used:  January-June Mini Catalog.  If you want to check out the SALE-A-BRATIONS catalog and see the cute otter set, go to:  January-February Sale-A-Bration.

Remember – 20% off on Stampin-Up products.  The discount is from me celebrating my 18 years with Stampin-Up.  February is again, Cards to Go, and cards can be picked up on February 3rd.  So let me know which cards you wish to send out.  March should have us all together again for our creative times.  This is a wonderful time to let others know you appreciate them and are thinking of them.

Blessings (and stay warm), Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630,965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

LOVE

‘”LOVE is like sunshine.”  How can we bring sunshine into the lives of others?  February Cards to Go has 4 perfect answers.  Let’s take a look at the first one:

01.22.22 Val Wreath RedThe Stampin’Up Arrange a Wreath bundle of stamps and dies is one of those sets that has many uses.  This is a set I continue to use even though it is retired.  Debbie designed this gentle red, Blushing Bride and white card.  The Brick and Mortar Embossing Folder provides lots of background texture.  The wreath is die-cut with the free Sale-A-Brations DSP Simply Marbleous Blushing Bride DSP.  Red hearts and flowers embellish the wreath with rhinestones centered in the flowers and double die-cut bow..  The love heart is one of my favorite dies and is perfect for this card.  2 additional red hearts provide balance.

01.22.22 Val Wreath BlushBut – what if the card recipient is not someone you feel comfortable giving a LOVE embellishment.  What if a LIKE embellishment would be more appropriate.  Well, we don’t have LIKE embellishments, but we do have a nice message that reads “HAPPY TO HAVE YOU IN MY LIFE.”  This is perfect for most anyone as we are KIND crafters and one thing America needs desperately is KINDNESS.  Debbie stamped this message in red on a Blushing Bride heart and it is a perfect embellishment when LOVE just won’t work.

01.22.22 Val Wreath Blush Msg01.22.22 Val Wreath Redd Msg

The message layer features a strip of DSP that matches the wreath.  Happy Valentines Day is the message and if you choose, you can add the heart that you did not use on the front.  Both hearts will be included in your February Cards to Go.

I’m feeling positive that we can return to cards at my home in March.  The current variant appears to be waning and we certainly want to take advantage of that.

My birthday with Stampin’ Up is January 29th – 18 years.  To celebrate, I thought I would offer an 18% discount on Stampin’ Up products for the month of February.  But I decided 18% would be way too hard to figure out so I settled on a 20% discount for the month of February.  This not only celebrates my years with Stampin’ Up but gives you the opportunity to save money and obtain some free items from Sale-A-Brations.  We used the Simply Marbleous DSP from Sale-A-Brations last month, and on the card above.  Our next card uses a Sale-A-Brations stamp set.

February Cards to Go will be ready for pick up on Thursday, February 3rd.  So let me know as soon as you can which cards you would like so we can pack up the orders.  I miss you!  I will be glad when we can get together and have some laughter!  I miss our laughter and companionship!  In the meantime – STAY WARM!

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

2022 CALENDAR

I had a difficult time narrowing DSP down to 3 to give you a small assortment.  Normally, these are done here and everyone chooses their own DSP.  I chose 3 and I hope one of them is just what you are looking for.

01.10.22 Calendar with goldThe first calendar is Pale Papaya, Mint Macaron and gold.  The DSP is from Expressions in Ink and features gold throughout the design.  I chose to pop up the 2022 so that next year, you can gently pry off the last 2 and replace it with a 3.  Dimensionals are much more forgiving than glue.  I have calendars that are 4 years old and I simply tear off the final month and adhere the new year on top,  I adhered my calendar to the Mint Macaron layer with 6 rows of sticky strip.  I adhered the layered calendar to the calendar front with 6 rows of sticky strip – I guarantee this calendar will NOT fall apart!!“

01.10.22 Calendar with gold backI think a simple message is nice to put on the back of the calendar.  After all, someone will be looking at this work of art for at least a year.  This year, I chose “All days are beautiful that begin with you.”  Isn’t that a wonderful message to see every day.  And because this is the year of the bird, a bird in the appropriate color comes with the Cards to Go.

If you have crafted these calendar before, you may prefer making yours from scratch.  I think these are a thoughtful gift.  I have a cousin and a girlfriend who rely on their calendars to sit on their kitchen table and remind them what day it is.  A single calendar is available $0.60 – 5 for $2,75 – 10 for $5.50.  These are available every summer from Tailored Expressions.com.

The best directions are from the Splitcoaststampers tutorials – you can check it out here:  https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/calendareaselcard/.

01.10.22 Calendar Hydrangea HavenThe second calendar I chose is Hydrangea Haven with Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather, and Gorgeous Grape.  This calendar pops with color.  The back side includes card stock with the message shown above and a color appropriate bird.  Once again, I used at least 6 strips of sticky strip to adhere the calendar to the Highland Heather layer, and at least 6 strips to adhere the calendar layer to the card front.  Your Card to Go includes the card stock cut to size and scored, the DSP, die cut numbers and the stamped back layer with color appropriate bird.

01.10.22 Calendar in corkBut what about the men in your life?  Many men have a desk and a small calendar may be appreciated.  This calendar is done in Early Espresso, Cajun Craze and CORK!  Yes, I said CORK.  This DSP is a thin layer of cork with a thin paper backing.  Because of the lean DSP, an extra layer is added to insure sturdiness.  Cajun Craze is adhered to the Early Espresso card and the thin cork layer is adhered to the Cajun Craze – the result is a very durable and sturdy card.  I chose to keep this calendar stark and masculine.  Embellishments would detract from the cork.  Again, the back includes white card stock with the stamped message and a color appropriate bird.

01.10.22 Magnets on Calendar  If you prefer a calendar for the refrigerator or other metal surface, magnet strips can be attached to the calendar back.  My  refrigerator calendar is 4 years old and every year I adhere the new calendar over the old.  This image shows the calendar backing.  The magnet strips have a backing that when removed, allows the strip to stick to the card stock.  There is no easel, but an extra layer is included as seen above with the cork calendar.  This is done to insure the calendar is sturdy and durable.  If you wish the magnet calendar, simply request that.

So there you have it – January Stamp Camp Cards to Go.  Make sure you let us know if you do not want a message or sentiment stamped for a particular card.  If not mentioned, everything will be stamped as noted.  Once you let us know what you wish for January, we will package everything up and let you know when it can be picked up or when we can drop it off to you.  Prices remain the same as 2021.  Please let me know if you have any questions.!!!!!

EXPRESSIONS IN INK

Expressions in InkIsn’t this the most gorgeous designer paper ever?  Of course I like pink and gold so it is a favorite of mine.  The Expressions in Ink paper will be retiring with this catalog and is already indicating low inventory due to its popularity.  Check out the different patterns here:  Expressions in Ink.  To highlight the DSP, Debbie layered it onto Magenta Madness, Basic white and a Magenta Madness card.

01,10.22 Exp in InkThe sentiment is wet embossed in gold and is layered onto a die-cut Magenta Madness label, and then onto a gold die-cut Ornate Frames which is popped up with dimensionals.  3 champagne rhinestones add a bit of elegant glimmer.  The message is stamped in Magenta Madness and features a strip of the Expressions in Ink DSP and a small gold bird.  I have declared this the year of the bird and will try my best to include a bird with each card.  I didn’t do a very good job in 2021 with hearts but I will try my best with birds.  This Card to Go comes with all the cardstock pre-cut, sentiment stamped and wet embossed, message stamped, DSP strip and a small gold bird.  If you do not wish to have the sentiment and/or message stamped, you must let us know.

Have you checked out your new Mini Catalog?  If you can’t find your copy, check it out here  January-June Mini Catalog

Our final project will be a 2022 calendar.  My goal had been to offer them for the Christmas Buffet – but that never happened.  I will also have the small calendars available singly if you prefer making your own from scratch.  Check back tomorrow to see what I have planned.

SHADED SUMMER

01.10.22 Shaded SummerShaded Summer is another card making me hope for summer!  This crisp Navy and white card features my favorite Tufted embossing folder, I’m sad this embossing folder was retired as it is so very elegant.  I checked the internet and the prices being asked for this folder are absolutely ridiculous!  I’m glad we have one!  The navy layer is embossed with the Subtle embossing folder which leaves a linen finish.  The floral image is stamped in Night of Navy on white and die-cut with the Summer Shadow dies which were in a previous Sale-A-Bration campaign.  The simple birthday sentiment is stamped and layered on navy and die cut with the Tasteful Label Dies.

01.10.22 Shaded Summer msgAnd of course, we have one of Debbie’s marvelous little multi-loop bows made with retired 1/4” navy ribbon from her private Stampin’Up stash.  The message layer features a simple message and a stamped image from Shaded Summer.  Your Cards-To-Go will include all card stock cut to size and embossed as described, stamped and die-cut images, and a multi-loop bow.

Are you starting to get excited about stamping?  Or have you already started back up after all your Christmas treasures were sent out?  I have to be truthful, I’m just getting back into the swing of things.  I’ve been too comfortable in my recliner snuggled under my red weighted blanket.  But I’m getting there – my fingers are ink-stained again and I have a wound on my right thumb from my crafting scissors!  Two more January projects coming up

TIMELESS TROPICS

Welcome to 2022 Paper Rose!  I’m not sure I can even remember how to post a blog as its been so long!  I intensely dislike January and February and its hard for me to get back “in gear.”  I am not fond of snow, ice, dreary days and frigid weather.  In fact, I’m sitting here in a thermal top, turtleneck, and flannel ski pajamas!  But I’m comfortable and that’s important!  As Omicron is ravaging our area, I am choosing to make January Stamp Camp as Cards To Go.  This may happen in February also, but it’s too soon to make that decision.  I’m hoping Omicron will peak very soon and life can return to semi-normal!  I don’t remember what normal is or was!  but we still need our cards as people have birthdays, become ill, need pick-me-ups and pass away.  Our beautiful stamped communications are more important than ever.  So let’s get started!

01.10.22 Timeless TropicsDoesn’t this card make you yearn for warm climates and tropical flowers!  And it’s purple – good by red and green!  This lovely card features the beautiful hibiscus stamped on the FREE Simply Marbelous DSP.  This FREE DSP is on page 10 in the Sale-a-bration brochure.  Check out the Marbelous colors here:  Free Marbelous DSP – or you can go to Paperrose01.stampinup.net and go to Specials – Sale-A-Bration – Shop Products – $50 spend – See Products.  I think this is lovely paper and worthy of a glance..

01.10.22 Timeless Tropics msgThis gorgeous card is done in Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, a touch of Call Me Clover, and of course white.  The sentiment and message also come from Timeless Tropics.  The ribbon and rhinestones are from Debbi’s secret stash!  She designed this card and did a wonderful job!  In your “Cards to Go,” you will receive the card stock cut to size, die cut flowers and leaves, premade bow and rhinestones.  The sentiment and message will be pre-stamped UNLESS WE ARE TOLD TO LEAVE THE STAMPING OFF!  We know you would rather be gathered in my family room/kitchen, but to be safe, it would be better to craft apart.

3 more projects are coming up for January Stamp Camp Cards To Go.
