The Tree

I’ve entitled the second card for our June Stamp Camp, simply The Tree.  The actual set is entitled “Look Up to Father.”  I feel this stately image speaks for itself.

Tree birthday 1This birthday card was designed for a male, and has lots of texture and detail.  Mossy Meadow, one of the 2014 – 2016 In Colors was used for the card base.  Baked Brown Sugar cs became our tree trunk with Soft Suede ink applied to the Woodgrain Embossing Folder .  Texture was added to the Very Vanilla CS beneath the tree layer. with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  Paper piercing was added to the 4 corners of the tree layer and the center was cut out with one of the Starburst Framelits and sponged in Soft Suede.  The tree was stamped in Mossy Meadow and rests on cs below the starburst circle.  As a finishing touch, the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch was used on Mossy Meadow, and Linen Thread was added in an “X” formation.  Note how stately the tree appears on the envelope below the card.  The greeting that comes with the stamp set is shown below.

Happy Fathers Day 1This greeting is perfect for Father’s Day, a birthday, or any occasion for a respected Dad or Stepdad.  Sadly, this stamp set will no longer be available after June 1st which is when the Celebrate the Everyday mini catalogue ends.

I thought it would be interesting to carry the paper piercing onto the message sheet.  You can barely see the triangular piercing in the corners which matches the card front.  A line of piercing was also added to the starburst die cut which was left from the card front.  We will be using the Paper Piercing Pack which makes paper piercing a breeze.

This is the second card we will be creating at the June Stamp Camp.  To repeat the dates and times:   Thursday, June 5 and Friday, June 6 from 2 to 9 PM; and Saturday, June 7 from 9 AM to 4 PM. If you have a conflict with these dates/times, please let me know, and we can arrange an alternate date/time – or you can purchase a kit. A kit includes all the materials for the 4 cards, and the stamping, embossing, die cutting, punching, etc. has been done for you. I supply everything except the adhesive.  The kit currently costs the same as attending the stamp camp – $12.00. Such a deal!

Give me a call, or send me an E-mail if you have any questions.

Friendship is Golden

2014-04-18 2014-04-18 001 015I’ve been wanting to do a gold and white card for some time.  The “Language of Friendship” stamp set (retired) seemed perfect for this.  Brushed gold card stock and the square framelits create a perfect frame for the Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum (page 23 in Celebrate the Everyday Catalogue).  I played around with the other two patterns of this elegant vellum(circles, and hearts), but preferred the stripes.  Gold embossing powder was used with VersaMark and the heating tool on Whisper White to give us the beautiful bird, stem, wings and flowers.  I also gold-embossed the meaningful message and punched it out with the wide oval punch.  The Bird Builder and Boho Blossom punches turn cutting out the images into a breeze as the punches do all the work.  I added the Gold Sequin Trim (page 23 in Celebrate the Everyday) and a few loose sequins for a bit of bling.  For added interest, the second sample of this card shows the Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder on the area below the brushed gold frame.

This is the second of the four cards we will be making at the May Stamp Camp.  As a reminder, dates and times: Thursday, May 1 – 2 PM – 9 PM; Friday, May 2 – 2 PM – 9 PM; and Saturday, May 3 – 9 AM – 4 PM. If you need an alternate date/time, please contact me and I am sure I can accommodate your request.  The cost is $12.00 which covers all tools and supplies needed.  All you need to do is bring yourself.  We even have bottled water, bottled water, hot tea and coffee to quench your thirst.

I’m pleased that many of you (and me) were able to take advantage of the free shipping offer which ended yesterday.  The link for retiring stamps is  http://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/lastChance/2014_NA_RetiredList/NA/US_Retiring_Stamps.pdf  The link for retiring accessories is http://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/lastChance/2014_NA_RetiredList/NA/US_Retiring_Accessories.pdf  Once these items are gone – they are gone.  I would suggest you order now if there is something you would like on the retiring lists.

Looking forward to seeing you on May 1, 2, and/or 3.  Give me a call, or drop an E-mail if you have any questions.

Reposting – Springtime Hello featuring Venetian Romance DSP

Our third card for the March Stamp Camp features DSP as well as a different style.

Hello SpringThe stamp set used in this colorful card is Springtime Hello ($10.95 for clear in the current Celebrate the Everyday brochure).  The new Scalloped Tag Topper was used to form the ends and allow us to tie the card together.  Although directions for the Tag Topper state to use card stock 2” wide, you can actually use card stock that is much wider by slipping the paper down into the punch.  Venetian Romance DSP adds the feel of marbling – or being in outer space – and is the highlight of the card.  Island Indigo adds a touch of contrast .  There are two types of ribbon that can be used and Stickles can be added to the stamped images if desired.

Hello Spring in Upon opening the card, there is plenty of space to add the message of  your choice.

This card uses 8 1/2 X 5 1/2” Crisp Cantaloupe card stock, but the score line is not the standard 4 1/4”.

One more card left for March Stamp Camp.  Check back tomorrow view the post and decide which version you will create.  Hope to see you for March Stamp Camp on March 13th, 14th or 15th!

Bee Mine

Welcome to 2014 Stamp Camps with Paperrose!  I’m looking forward to sharing new products, new techniques, and having fun with all of you!  We are dedicating our February Stamp to hearts – the hearts showing love and kindness, not the hearts that keep us alive.  Hearts Abound Stamp Camp will be held on Thursday, Feb 6th from 2 PM to 9 PM, Friday, Feb 7th from 2 PM to 9 PM, and Saturday, Feb 8th from 9 AM to 4 PM.  The cost is $12 for the 4 projects with all card stock, adhesive and tools provided.  It is helpful if you can let me know when you will be attending, but this is not required.  The more, the merrier!

Bee Mine Black 1Bee Mine is created using the new Hexagon Hive Framelit.  I made two samples – one in black and one in Cherry Cobbler,  Brown Sugar cs is the base for both cards.  Note the main bee in the lower half of the card.  Although this is an optional step, I think the bee solidifies the card.

Bee only

The main bee comes from an older retired set and was stamped on Whisper White cs with Early Espresso ink.  The bee was then colored with Stampin’ Write Markers and cut out.  Embossing with clear embossing powder gives the shiny finish.  The smaller Brown Sugar – stamped bees come from the Collage Curio stamp set.  The “Bee Mine” message has been printed and is easily die cut with the new Banner Framelits set.

Bee Mine Cherry 1Here is the Cherry Cobbler sample that is shown without the main bee.  Note how the empty hexagons are filled with an assortment of embellishments – punched hearts, candy dots, rhinestones, buttons, brads and ribbon.  This is a fun card and every card created at our Hearts Abound Stamp Camp will be different and very individual.

Cherry Bee Mine inside 2I finished my samples with an old fashioned valentine doily;  A red valentine appears inside the black sample, and a white valentine as shown here, for the Cherry Cobbler sample.  Here,  I stamped a Vintage Valentine (retired), added a bit of color, and die cut the message with the Apothecary  Accents framelits.  You can, finish your card however you wish and valentine doilies will be available if you want to use them.  There is a box filled with embellishments for this card – lots of buttons, punches, card stocks, brads, etc.  Come and have fun!

Did you receive “Celebrate the Everyday” and the Sale A Bration brochures?  I sense some confusion as to the difference between the two brochures.

Celebrate The Everyday features items that are available through June 1, 2014.  Some items may be carried over after that date, but we won’t know the carry over items until the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog comes out.  The Sale-A-Bration brochure is through March 31, 2014 and features kits that can be purchased, and more importantly, items you can get for free with any $50 Stampin’ Up product purchase.  I will have extra brochures available at Stamp camp.  However, please let me know if you did not receive your brochures as I pay for these to be sent out.

Hope to see you!  Blessings, Rosemary – paperrose01@aol.com – 630-759-3089
