In the Woods

07.22.19 In the Woods new

Do you remember this tree from last year?  In the Woods dies are absolutely wonderful and this two-layer tree is one of my favorites.  The current card is a bit different from the one you saw last week at Christmas in July.  The Heirloom Frames Dies and 3D Embossing Folders that were on SU back order miraculously arrived on Monday.  This was the frame I had originally planned on using before I discovered it was on backorder.  I am still making adjustments to the card, but it will look very very similar to this for August Stamp Camp.

07.22.19 In the Woods messageThe card and frame are in Marina Mist with Balmy Blue ink.  The Swirls and Curls embossing folder provides lots of texture.  The two layer tree is die cut from Sparkle Glimmer with the leaflets popped up with mini dimensionals and glue dots.  Rhinestones embellish the scene and add more glimmer.  Everyone seemed to like the sentiment used on the original card so I used it as the message layer, and added a star and stamped embellishment.

This is our final card for August Stamp Camp – August 1st from 12N to 6 pm, August 2nd from 2 to 4 pm, and August 3rd from 9 am to 4 pm.  Please please please let me know which day you are coming and which cards you wish to do.

07.22.19 Xmas catalog cover The Christmas Catalog will be arriving later in August.  If you don’t receive yours in the mail, I will have extras for you to pick up at your leisure or at September Stamp Camp.  I will be offering a personal 20% product discount in September so it will be a great time to order any regular or holiday products.  There are some beautiful suites in this catalog as well as some that are just plain cute.  I love the Snowman Builder Punch that allows you to attach the arms going in any direction.  There’s also colored jingle bells and gold mini pizza boxes (just the right size for a cookie or 3 X 3 note cards.  There are stars, trees, deer, candles, cardinals, an angel, bells, a shepherd with his flock and so much more!

07.22.19 Xmas catalog imageI like this simple card embellished with trees punched from the new Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper.  See the little jingle bell attached to the sentiment?  This would be an “easy peasy” card to make!  Children and grandchildren could choose the DSP and help with placing the trees.  This card would show the recipient that you really care about them.  And that’s part of Christmas – sharing your caring!

Free as a Bird

Free as a Bird is one of the new Free as a Bird yellowStampin’ Up suites from the 2019-2020 catalog.  For June Stamp Camp, this stamp set is being featured on an easel card.  Although dies are not available for this stamp set, there is beautiful Bird Ballard DSP.  The Bird Ballad bundle is sold with the new Stitched Nested Labels which you can see used here.  The Bird Ballad suite bundle is $94.75 BUT includes the Free as a Bird stamp set, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, Bird Ballad DSP, Bird Ballad Laser-cut Cards & Tin, 10 yards of Very Vanilla Scalloped Lace Trim, and 24 Bird Ballad Trinkets!  $94.75 is not such a scary price when you consider everything included.  I opted for the Free as a Bird Bundle which includes the stamp set and the Stitched Nested Labels Dies for $51.25 – 10% off the individual price.

07.22.19 Free as a Bird multiThe birds and flowers in the top easel card sample are colored with assorted yellow Stampin’ Blends – Daffodil Delight, Pineapple Punch, So Saffron (new) and Mango Melody, plus a bit of Smoky Slate.  The sample to the left has some added color in the flowers – light and dark Rococo Rose (new).  Of course you can color your birds and flowers in any color you choose!  The card base is Basic Black and the Daffodil Delight rectangle is embossed with the 3D Basket Weave embossing folder.  The “pop-up” piece that holds the easel up is a simple stamped “HELLO” that is die cut with the smallest Stitched Nested Labels Die and layered on the next size Nested Labels Die in Basic Black.  This double layer is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals which gives it the “pop” needed to hold the easel.

07.22.19 Free as a Bird flatI attempted to flatten the card for this picture but it refused to stay absolutely flat.  This, however, shows how the card would look when removed from the envelope.

Don’t forget to let me know if you will be coming to June Stamp Camp and which cards you would like to do.  I’m looking forward to working with colors other than the Christmas in July reds, greens and navy!

Hanging Garden

07.22.19 Hanging Garden 1Hanging Garden is a perfect card for a beautiful summery day.  Flowers and butterflies – what more can you ask for?  This set is now retired – one of the favorites in the 2018-2019 annual SU catalog that somehow never fit into my previous stamp camp schedules.  Debbie designed this card in Granny Apple Green and Pineapple Punch.  The Whisper White front layer is embossed with the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder.  The garden is stamped in Basic Black on white and is adhered under the white top layer looking thru a 2 1/2 die-cut circle.  A Pineapple Punch scallop circle highlights the art piece.   Several butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set are stamped in black, punched and colored colored in Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight.  Debbie even added antennae to the butterflies using the retired black metallic thread.  The flowers in the hanging basket are colored with an assortment of Stampin’ Blends.  Instructions will indicate which blends Debbi used – or you can color the flower basket whatever you choose.

07.22.19 Hanging Garden open frontThis second sample might look like the one above – but it is actually quite different.  This card has the hanging garden stamped on the message layer – a see-through card.  See the image below that shows the message layer after the card is opened. With the art work on the message layer, there is no need to add any embellishments – just stamp a message and you are done.  We are working on a way 07.22.19 Hanging Garden open msg layerto design this see-through card that is not too difficult.  The first sample is quite easy but the second sample is more interesting due to the 3D effect.  We will see what we can come up with by August 1st!

As a reminder, August Stamp Camp is Thursday August 1st from 12 noon – 6 pm, Friday August 2nd from 2 – 6 pm, and Saturday August 3rd from 9 AM – 4 PM.  It would be very helpful if you can let me know which day you will be coming and which cards you wish to do. This helps  in cutting the correct amount of card stock.  The cost is $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for each additional card.

One card remains to be posted.  Check back soon to see In the Woods – the August Stamp Camp Christmas card.

Painted Seasons

07.22.19 Painted Desert brown frontPainted Seasons is a very attractive card but is so very easy to make.  I LOVE easy cards and thought this would be perfect for August Stamp Camp..  The Petal Pink card is layered with Early Espresso which is layered with a piece of 5 X 3 3/4 Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper (DSP).  During the 2019 Sale-A-Brations time period, this DSP was one of the items that was offered for “free,”  I am sharing part of my stash with you.  The doily is die cut from the Doily Builder set.  This can be die cut in Early Espresso as seen above – OR…

07.22.19 Painted DesertIn Call Me Clover as seen in the Sample to the right.  The doily frames the sentiment “Just for You which is stamped in Early Espresso on a die-cut Grapefruit Grove circle  A strip of Petal Pink runs behind the encircled sentiment.

The message layer is stamped in Early Espresso and features a die-cut Early-Espresso embellishment and a Petal Pink stamped and die-cut posy from the Painted Seasons stamp set.  This is an all-purpose card where the DSP does all the work!
