OH, HAPPY DAY

We have not created any easel tent cards in quite a while.  For April Stamp Camp, we are going to create not one – but 2 easel cards!

IMG_6987This bright and cheery tent card comes to us from the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set with matching dies.  The Dandy Designs DSP that was free with the Sale-A-Bration campaign gives us the perfect bright background for our card.  This stamp set features a foxy fox, a playful rabbit, and my favorite – the flower-bearing turtle.  We have Balmy Blue clouds, a Tahitian Tide and white kite, flowers sprouting from a tree stamp and of course – Mr. Turtle.  Stampin’ Blends in assorted colors are used to make our images come to life.

IMG_6988Our easel tent card starts out with a piece of Granny Apple Green cardstock measuring 11 X 4 1/4.  The cardstock is scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2.  I find it easier to score at 4 1/4, then flip the cardstock and score at 2 1/2   After the cardstock is folded with crisp score lines, we see the tent shape form as the image to the right shows.  Our “Oh Happy Day” sentiment is popped up on Dimensionals and keeps the top part of the card from flopping open..  If needed, double Dimensionals could be used to increase the height of the sentiment.  I added more flowers and 2 Tahitian Tide butterflies.  Although you can’t see the m, 3 small rhinestones are used in the centers of 3 flowers.

IMG_6991The open card is difficult to see.  A strip of DSP is adhered to the bottom of the 4 X 4 Basic White cardstock message layer  This card would be perfect for adults and children and can celebrate many occasions.

April Stamp Camp is right around the corner.  The dates are Thursday-Friday-Saturday, March 30, March 31, and April 1st.  Because of Easter celebrations, we need time to send our Easter cards so they arrive on time.  The times of April Stamp Camp are 10am – 4pm each day.  You can come when it is convenient for you.  The cost remains the same – $3,50 per card.

Don’t forget than I’m offering a 20% product discount on all Stampin’Up items except Paper Pumpkin.  This is the ideal time to replenish cardstock and Stampin’ Blends or purchase a die set that can be used for many different occasions.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

EASTER FRIENDS

03.23.22 Bunny Blossom embossedThe bunny rabbit in Easter Friends is just too cute!  Mr. Bunny is featured with a bouquet of flowers from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set and the Flowers of Home dies.  Both Mr. Bunny and the flowers are cut with the Scan’n Cut although there are dies available for the flowers.  Mr. Bunny stamps quite light with Smoky Slate but too dark with Basic Gray.  There are an assortment of bunnies die-cut that can be used as they are or you can use Stampin’ Colored Pencils or Stampin’ Pastels to add additional color.  The flowers are colored but will need to be trimmed to fit the appropriate area.  The centers of the large daisies vary somewhat in color and additional color can be added.  The Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder adds lots of texture to the background.  NOTE:  This embossing folder is being retired and is on sale for $7.20.

03.23.22 Bunny Happy EasterI experimented with adding a Balmy Blue shadow around Mr. Bunny and the flowers, but I did get a bit carried away in the Easter version of the card.  The shading is much fainter on the card above.  Debbie made little pink bows and ties for Mr. Bunny.

Please let us know which cards you wish to do and what day you plan on coming.  April Stamp Camp is 10am-4pm on Thursday March 31st, 10am-4pm on Friday April 1, and 9am-4pm on Saturday April 2.  May Stamp Camp will be on May 5, 6 and 7.  Debbi and I will be working on Friday to put the April card packets together.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all.  Masks are optional at this time.                          Sending Spring Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

NIGHT IN BETHLEHEM

Night in Bethlehem is a classic Christmas tribute.  Mary and Joseph are led by the star on their way to Bethlehem.  Shimmer paper and several rhinestones give a bit of glimmer to this revered sight.  The sentiment and circle are framed in Navy. The Tufted Embossing Folder adds softness and depth to the card front.

Night in Bethlehem Rejoicing

Night in Bethlehem BlessedNight of Bethlemen messageThere are many messages that are appropriate for this simple but elegant card.  I chose one that came with the Night of Bethlehem stamp set and added a star and a shepherd.

PLAYFUL PENGUINS

Penguins 2

What would Christmas be without penguins and some punch art.  You may recognize these little friends as coming from the Stampin’Up owl punch. A bank of glittery snow is just right for these cold weather friends

Penguins 1

The Brother Scan’n Cut was helpful in cutting out the bodies, eyes, vests and feet. The weathered sign was die cut and the post was punched.  The Softly Falling Embossing Folder depicts a snowy scene.

Penguins message

We chose this sparkling message for the Playful Penguins card, but you can choose a message of your choice.  A 4th penguin embellishes the message layer.  When forming your penguins, you can play with the eyeballs and have them looking in any direction – even cross eyed!  This is a card to have fun with.

Time to start a new post!  See you in a bit!

WOODLAND WONDER

042421 Woodland Wonder brushed cloudsSlimline cards are all the rage right now.  I’ve never crafted a full size slimline card so I decided it was time to do so.  Woodland Wonder is the perfect stamp set for this endeavor.  I chose a happy birthday theme but there are other choices – “from all of us, congratulations, hope your day stacks up to be one good thing on top of another.”

3 stamps form the full tree shown here.  However, you can also do a shorter tree by using only the top and bottom stamp.  I love how the animals are peeking out of the tree trunk

042421 Woodland Wonder stamped cloudsOf course you don’t have to add all the extras as shown on the card above.  The basic cards shown here has only the clouds, red balloon, bunny and Hip-Hip-Hoo-Ray banner added.  The 3 images are set up on a Stamparatus to make the alignment  and stamping painless.

Note the different cloud patterns on these 2 samples.  The top card has stenciled clouds brushed on in Seaside Spray with the new Blending Brushes.  The cloud stencil is cut from the So Much Happy dies.  The card to the right has stamped clouds colored with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends.  This is a fun card to create as well as a new style.  The cards fit perfectly in #10 envelopes.

042421 Woodland Wonder msg layerThis message layer is stamped with the bunny holding a balloon and several butterflies.  Lots of space is available

Please remember to let me know as soon as you can which cards you choose to create for May Stamp Camp.  This makes my life so much easier.

What card you you think will be next?  How about butterflies?

HEY CHICK

03.30.21 Hey Chick dVThis is such a fun card!  The Hey Chick stamp set was a Sale-a-Bration set in 2020.  I got the set and never did anything with it!  I will be giving the stamp set away after April Stamp Camp so if you would like it, please let me know.  The dies became available for purchase this year and what cute dies they are!  You see the stump, corn stalks, ears of corn, a sign and there is also a ranch house I chose not to use.  You can color the chicks in the Stampin Blends of your choosing.  The new Blending Brushes are used to create a sun and add color to the sky.

03.30.21 Hey Chick not favClouds are added to the second sample as I discovered when you spill a drop of Tombo Mono Aqua Liquid Glue on card stock colored with Stampin Blends, the color disappears.  So, the clouds covered my oops!  They will be available for your use.  I love the little ears of corn and the corn stalks.  And you can cut all 4 ears of corn with one run through the Big Shot.  The “have a happy day!” sentiment on the sign will be pre-stamped for you. The sign and wood stump are die cut from retired wood patterned paper.

03.30.21 Hey Chick not fav msgYou can be quite creative on your message layer.  You can have corn scattered on the ground, add extra eggs, or whatever you choose.  The message layer can become a second piece of art work!

Such fun!  One card left to post!  It is a new technique and will not be available for kits.  The final card is a hands-on card.  Please don’t dress in your Sunday Go-To-Church clothes and please don’t wear long sleeves.  Are you wondering what this card could be possibly be?  I will post it in the morning so check back then.

DARLING DONKEYS

02.19.21 Darling Donkeys birthdayWhen discussing the free items  offered with Sale-A-Brations this year, someone said to me “What could you use donkey stamps for?”  I’ve seen lots of ideas and decided to offer 2 cards for March Stamp Camp featuring Darling Donkeys – one of the free Sale-a-Bration items offered with a $50 purchase (before shipping and tax).  This card also features the Oh So Ombre DSP which is another free offering.  We used the Brother Scan’nCut to cut out our donkeys and the word “Happy”.  This birthday version of the card is embellished with a balloon floating off a donkey’s tail while the other donkey offers a rose between his teeth.

02.19.21 Darling Donkeys St Pats cardThe green St. Patrick’s Day version is very similar but features a shamrock floating of the donkey’s tail while the other donkey offers a shamrock between his teeth.  Two cards that are very similar yet different.  Stampin’ Blends are used to color the donkeys.  The new blending brush is used to give a blue sky background.  These new brushes are much easier to use than traditional sponges as they are much softer.

02.19.21 Darling Donkeys SP messagePlease ignore the mysterious blue shadow.  The sentiment layer for our St. Patrick’s Day card says it all and has another donkey kicking its heels in celebration. Note the tiny green bow embellishing the donkey’s neck.  02.19.21 Darling Donkeys birthday message

The birthday version simply uses a different message with the same donkey celebrating the occasion.

We’ve used 2 more items from the Sale-A-Bration offerings – the Darling Donkeys and the Oh So Ombre DSP.  Remember – Sale-a-Brations ends February 28th as does my 20% discount.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

WELCOME EASTER

03.24.20 Welcome Easter LambI think the little animals in the “Welcome Easter” stamp set are so cute.  I plan on sending out quite a few of these as they tend to make the recipient smile – something we all can use.  Gingham and plaid papers are perfect for these cuties.

03.24.20 Welcome Easter BunnyThe little animals are stamped in black and lightly colored with Stampin’ Blends.  Some tufts of grass and flowers with colored pearls are added.  Butterflies and an occasional bee are flying around.  The scalloped square art work is layered on coordinating cs and adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

03.24.20 Welcome Easter ChickAlthough the sentiment for this chick card is for a birthday, the Easter sentiment would be perfect also.  Note how each card has a small coordinating bow at the top to the left of the sentiment.  5 colored pearls were used on each card – 3 in the center of the flowers and 2 on the card itself. A dot of glue was used in the center of each flower to insure the pearls would stay in place.  Garden Green leaves were cut from the leaf stem in the Ladybug Dies.

03.24.20 Welcome Easter Easter msgThe message layer will feature the coordinating card stock from the front layer, a strip of the gingham or plaid and a small tulip at the bottom of the layer.  The message shown at the left is available to be used.

03.24.20 Welcome Easter T of YOr the message layer can simply say “Thinking of You.”  This is a difficult time in our lives to know exactly what to say.  A stamped message is not even necessary and you can jot down a few words from your heart.  Just let me know how you want your message layer to read.

So we’ve seen 4 Easter cards – Easter Promise and Welcome Easter.  I will be sending out an E-mail explaining how we will handle the April Non-Stamp Camp.

But first – if you choose to pick up any 4 cards, I will include at no extra charge, 2 of my Meerkat Social Distancing cards:

03.24.20 Social Distancing Meerkats

This is my attempt at a bit of humor as we live with social distancing and shelter in place. There is no message, simply the sentiment “thinking of you.”  the 6’ is die cut and I did add a bit of Wink of Stella.  This card could be made using any animal or even 2 hearts but I thought the Meerkat version was cute.  So 2 of these will be yours if you order April Non-Stamp Camp cards.

Remember – 20% personal discount on SU thru March 31, 2020!

E-mail to follow shortly!

SEASON OF THANKS

Season of ThanksThe beautiful leaves on our Season of Thanks card are reminiscent of the autumn colors seen on so many of our trees.  The Gathered Leaves Dies give the leaves a realistic look as they emboss as well as die-cut.  These copper and gold metallic leaves are perfect for this season.  The Early Espresso card is layered with Calypso Coral and DSP from the realistic looking Pressed Petals suite.  A large Calypso Coral background leaf is stamped in Terra Cotta Tile and a pair of stamped and die-cut pumpkins center the gathering of leaves.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso on a die cut circle of Naturals Ivory (an ancient SU card stock from years past).   A jolly turkey from the Day of Thanks stamp set is stamped in Early Espresso, cut with our Scan’n’Cut, and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  Finally, a small piece of copper trim and 3 metallic pearls finish this beautiful Thanksgiving card.

We’ve seen 2 Thanksgiving cards featured at our November Stamp Camp on November 7, 8, and 9.  Now it’s time to take a look at Christmas.

Hope to see you soon!  Rosemary – (h)630.759.3089 – (c)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

OVER THE MOON

Cow Cow's it goingSo…Cow’s it going with you today?  Fine, I hope.  Over the Moon is a fun stamp set and perfect for birthdays, thinking of you or just because you want to sent a card.  The 2 cards Debbie designed are not only cute, they are very simple to make.  Deb took advantage of our stash of retired DSP using 2 totally different patterns that mesh perfectly.  The larger piece of DSP is from the Botanical Butterfly suite that was part of the first quarter Sale-A-Brations promotion.  The smaller DSP is from the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper – one of my favorites.  There are 3 cow images in the Over the Moon and Deb chose 2 to feature on the front of her cards.

Cow Dream BigThe second sample features our cow celebrating with a flower and big smile.  The cow images are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black (my go-to black ink) and colored with Stampin’ Blends.  The stamped images are die cut and layered on a popped-up die cut Highland Heather scalloped circle. A small Highland Heather or lavender bow embellishes the card as does a bit of Wink of Stella.  How did we ever exist without Wink of Stella?  The sentiments are die cut with a small stitched rectangle die and popped up on Dimensionals.

So far I’ve posted snowmen and cows for September Stamp Camp – what’s next?  September Stamp Camp is from 12N-6PM on Thursday September 5th, from 2-6PM on Friday September 6 and from 9AM-4PM on Saturday September 7th.  I hope you can join us for a fun time!  All supplies and tools are provided as well as water, soda pop and a snack.  The cost remains $14 for any 4 cards and $3 for additional cards.  Just let me know what day you are coming and which cards you wish to make and I will have your kit all ready for your creativity.  And don’t forget – 20% off all Stampin’Up products for the month of September – a promotion I am offering.  You can order Holiday Catalog items and products from the annual catalog.

Remember, a card made with your hands is a card from the heart and shows you really care.

Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

Shaken Rooster

05.21.19 Rooster white 1Although the sequins are hiding, this is a shaker card with sparkly earth toned sequins tucked inside the frame.  The “Home to Roost” stamp set was one of the Sale-A-Brations sets and this is the first time I’ve had a chance to use it.  The Early Espresso card base is layered with Wood Textures DSP that has been die cut with a stitched rectangle die.  In this sample, wheat has been stamped in Crumb Cake across the bottom front DSP layer.  The base for this shaker box is Whisper White and Crumb Cake wheat has been stamped.  Mr. Rooster was stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White and Very Vanilla and cut with the Brothers ScanNCut.  When using the ScanNCut, all images must be connected so that each piece is recognized by the machine.  I took an Early Espresso marker and connected any loose ends before sending  the stamped cs to cut.

05.21.19 Rooser uprightMr. Rooster is colored with Stampin’ Blends in Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Only Orange, Night of Navy and Bronze, and adhered to the base. The top layer is an Early Espresso frame with a window sheet adhered to the back with tape.  Foam strips are adhered around the base. After removing the top strip from the foam, sequins are placed in the center of the base.  The top layer is then adhered to the foam strips and presto – we have a sequin shaker!  The shaker box is then adhered securely to the top layer of the card.  As noted on the card to the right, the shaker box can be centered or placed at an ankle as shown in the samples above and below.  The simple message is stamped in Early Espresso, die cut and framed.

05.21.19 Rooster ribbonThe framed message an be adhered directly to the card, or as shown in the sample to the left, can be adhere to a piece of beige flax ribbon.  I almost forgot to mention the sun!  Samples 2 and 3 have a sun peeking out of the corner.  The sun was sponged in Pineapple Punch and is, of course, optional.  One nice thing about this card is the options – you choose the wood tone you prefer from the DSP.  There is distressed white wood, shades of oak, and even walnut to choose from.  Wheat can be stamped on the DSP if you choose. A sun can be sponged if you want. You decide your shaker box placement – centered or at an angle?  You will make this card truly your own.

I’m happy to report that I finished the 4 Christmas in July samples today.  The samples which will be available at June Stamp Camp include a holiday window scene, a gingerbread couple, a beautiful bauble, and a wintry scene.  I resurrected some Christmas stamps and dies from the past as Stampin’Up does not come out with the new holiday images until August/September.  I hope you like them.

Don’t forget to let me know when you are coming to June Stamp Camp and which cards you wish to do.  So far we have seen Ye Olde Toolbox, Lilypad Lake, and Shaken Rooster.  A Classic Car easel card is our final June Stamp Camp card and will be posted shortly.
