HAPPY HALLOWEEN

09.25.23 Happy Halloween

These 2 spooky cards come from a combination of older stamp sets.  I’m sure you recognize the Aspen Tree Die.  The witch, frog and cauldron come from the Best Witches set while the creepy monster hails from Howl-o-ween Creeps.   The sentiment is so old that its still on a wood block!!!  The larger ghost comes from Cutest Halloween and the bat, from Halloween Scares.  I did discover smaller precut bats and ghosts that were given to me.  The frog, cauldron and monster were increased in size on my printer and happily cut by the Scan’n’Cut.  Stampin Blends in colors of your choice provide lots of color.  I love the eerie moon in the background.  A blending brush, circle template and Daffodil Delight ink pad plus a little manual effort give us this spooky moon on a Basic Gray background.  My original intent was just to use the cute witch from Best Witches.  But then I realized that a grandson or young man would not appreciate a cute witch.  So monster came to our rescue

09.25.23 Happy Halloween msg layerThe message layer is embellished with a frog – colored here in dark and light Old Olive Stampin Blends, and a die cut owl.  you can add additional decorations if you wish.  There are an assortment of Halloween messages available for  you to stamp.

When you let me know what cards you choose to make at October Stamp Camp, please specify WITCH or MONSTER if choosing this card.

PEACE & JOY

09.25.23 Peace and Joy plainPeace and Joy comes to us from the Trim the Tree stamp set and coordinating dies.  The thick white card is layered in gold and a white layer embossed with the Evergreen Forest 3D embossing folder.  The card is embellished with a strip of emerald green ribbon gathered with a gold shoestring bow, and a Shaded Spruce tree wet embossed with white to give a snowy appearance.  the embossed tree stand and stars are die cut in gold and brass.

09.25.23 Peace and Joy rabbit

As I looked at the original card, I couldn’t help but think someone should  be admiring the tree.  So, you have an option of adding a bunny or a deer with a sparkly appearance once you brush it with a bit of Wink of Stella.

09.25.23 Peace and Joy msg layerThe message layer will not include my hubby’s thumb as you see here, but will be embellished with a simple gold scallop.

This is a classic Christmas card – perfect for many years to come and will be one of the cards for October Stamp Camp on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday October 5, 6, and 7.  The times are 10am – 4pm.  We will have options of this and another Christmas card, a Happy Halloween card, and a fall card using a stamp set from the past.  Lots of fun and laughter guaranteed.  Please let me know which cards you wish to do after you have seen all 4 options.  Texting at 630.965.1965 is always the best way to contact me as I fall behind on my e-mail.  A Happy Halloween card is the next blog post.

LASER CUT CARD

IMG_9143The fourth and final card I had planned for September turned out to be a bit more complicated than I had planned so I shelved it for now.  As I was looking around for an easy but elegant card for us to make, I came across several boxes of Stampin ’Up vanilla laser cut cards that I had been keeping for a special occasion.  I decided September Stamp Camp was a special occasion!.  These beautiful cards are backed with a Blushing Bride pattern from Dainty Flowers DSP.  12 Pastel pearls are added to accent the circular design.  My samples include lavender pearls on one card and pink pearls that I colored on the other. There are several different colors available for you to choose from.

IMG_9144The message layer is embellished with a strip of matching Dainty Flowers DSP.  I think this would make an appropriate sympathy card, as well as a card for other occasions.

IMG_9147

I am suggesting you stamp 2 die-cut circles and stamp a different message on each.  Adhere them to 2 Blushing Bride die cut scallop circles and leave the message layer blank until you have an occasion to use the card.  Then affix the appropriate message.  I think it’s always good to have a sympathy card available as we never know when the need for one will arise.

This is our last card for September Stamp Camp – 4 totally different designs.  Mark your calendars now for October Stamp Camp.  We will be doing a Christmas tree card, a Halloween card with the Aspen Tree die, and 1-2 fall/Thanksgiving cards.

Please let me know as soon as you can which cards you wish to make for September Stamp Camp, what day you plan on coming and if your cards need to be To Go.  Texting me is the safest way to reach me (630.965.1965).  Let me know if you have any concerns or questions.

SOMEONE WONDERFUL

IMG_9136

I want to make sure you see the darling bunnies on this Country Sie Inn DSP.  There are birds, foxes, flowers and more patterns on this shades of blue DSP.  Check it out here COUNTRY SIDE INN  This Night of Navy flip up card is super easy and uses minimal designer series paper.  The 2 side panels utilize 4 X 1 1/4 each, and the center section uses 4 X 2 1/4.  Note the 2 little die cut bunnies that have been added.  There are also 3-5 dark blue Holiday Rhinestones that give a bit of sparkle.

IMG_9137

When the card is flipped open, you find the message layer and another bunny rabbit.  This cute card is perfect for almost any occasion – Thinking of you, retirement, anniversary, birthday and even get well soon.  As I noted above, this card is truly super easy and one you should incorporate into your own own card-making.

Don’t forget to let me know which cards you plan on making and what day you think you might come.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  Blessings, Rosemary – (C)630.759.3089 – (H)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

BIRTHDAY ENVELOPE

IMG_9131This cute flower-filled envelope is from the Full of Love Stamp Set.  I love the brightly colored flowers.  The Gorgeous Grape card base is layered with basic white and then with Dandy Designs DSP in a flowered Fresh Freesia pattern and die cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies.  The same dies are used for the Gorgeous Grape Happy Birthday sentiment which comes from the Go to Greetings set.  Sweet Sorbet Metallic Trim is perfect for a shoestring bow at the base of the gathered flowers.  Finally, 5 purple-colored rhinestones add a bit of sparkle.  Wink of Stella also adds shimmer.

IMG_9132The message layer features a strip of matching DSP and a small die cut flower.  Stampin’ Blends are used to color the flowers on the top layer and the message layer.  The exception is the dark purple which is a Spectrum Noir LV3 marker.  You can color your flowers as you wish.  I always choose my favorite colors, which may very well be different from your favorites.

As a reminder, September Stamp Camp is Thursday Friday, Saturday, September 7, 8, and 9 from 10am – 4pm each day.  Let me know which day you plan on coming and which cards you would like to make.  I’m looking forward to seeing everyone!  Blessings, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

SHAKER THESNOWMAN

I promised a Christmas shaker card last month and I failed!  But we have a shaker card for September!  In case you are wondering what a shaker card is, A shaker card is a card with a clear window filled with items – usually sparkly things – that move about when you shake the card.  Meet Shaker the Snowman

IMG_9150This cheery snowman comes to us as a digital download from Etsy.  I chose him because of the cute Merry Christmas red and white border.  The Real Red card base and the snowflake embossed sea foam top layer are the perfect background for our snowman. The Scan’n’Cut gives us a perfect circle, and a circle die cuts out the center.  A window sheet is adhered to the back of the circular border with a small amount of liquid adhesive, Then Stampin’ Up adhesive strips are adhered to the back of the border in a circular fashion.  Sequins and tiny gems are carefully placed on Shaker’s tummy, and the adhesive backed Merry Christmas border is placed over the snowman and sequins.  Using the Holly Border Punch, glittery holly leaves are punched and festooned with red rhinestone ‘”berries”.  Opposite corners are embellished with glittery corner punches

IMG_9157The message layer is also embellished with the glittery corner punches in the opposite corners from the card front.  A punched glittery snowflake adds a touch of holiday spirit.

All the glitter we are using comes from a spray of alcohol and a white paint mixed together.  My name for this concoction is “Home Brew.”  It’s an inexpensive way to add some glitter to cardstock.

September Stamp is on September 7, 8 and 9 from 10am to 4 pm.  You can come for an hour or spend the day or even come all 3 days!  I will note that Thursday the 7th is a hard stop at 4pm as I have a 4:30 baseball game in Darien.  No – I’m not playing!  I’m supporting my grandson Isaac who is the catcher for his school team.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, Rosemary – (H)630.759.3089 – (C)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

THE UNFINISHED CARD

07.25.23 Forever embossedUntil the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set arrives this card remains unfinished.  The sentiment is coming from the set.  Although this card may look involved, all the pieces are die cut from the Hello, Irresistible 6X6 DSP.  For this sample, there are 2 Flirty Flamingo die cut blooms, 2 – 3 leaf clusters, and 1 – 2 leaf cluster.  The DSP is adhered under the decorative circle which is die cut on the top Pretty Peacock layer.  Stampin’ Dimensionals add lots of depth to the flowers.  5 pale blue rhinestones add a touch of bling.  This would make a beautiful card for any occasion!

07.25.23 Forever msg layerThe message layer for this beautiful card features a cluster of 3 leaves die cut from the DSP.  There are other die cut leaves to choose from or you can die cut your own.

And this is the end of the cards for August Stamp Camp – August 3, 4, and 5 – 10am – 4pm.  I hate to whine, but as soon as you have decided which cards you would like to make, please let me know by text, e-mail or phone.   I want to insure I have adequate paper cut and not stay up all night to be ready for stamp camp.

I’m looking forward to seeing all of you and having some laughs and happy times!

UNTO US

FOR UNTO US, A CHILD IS BORN!

07.25.23 Unto Us Silver StarsA silent night with silver stars glittering in the sky.  Lowly animals die cut in silver standing in front of Mary, Joseph and the Holy Child die cut in Mother of Pearl.  Simple figures with a special meaning to us all.

The beautiful background DSP was discovered in a package of retired Enjoy the Journey DSP.  The dies come from an online company.  The sentiment and matching die are Artsy Angel from Honey Bee

07.25.23 Unto Us Mother of Pearl StarsDo you see the difference between the first and second samples?  White stars instead of silver.  The Holy Family is die cut in Mother of Pearl card stock – an absolutely gorgeous specialty paper.  The stars in the card to the right have also been die cut in Mother of Pearl.  You can choose either the silver or the Mother of Pearl for your stars.  This card is very 3-dimensional as the animals are popped up with an adhesive foam strip.

07.25.23 Unto Us msg layerThe message layer is very simple, a strip of the matching DSP and a silver star.  A Mother of Pearl star could certainly be used instead – your choice.

We’ve almost made it to the end of samples for August Stamp Camp – August 3, 4 and 5.  Please send or text me your card choices and which day you plan on coming.

Blessings, Rosemary – (Home)630.759.3089 – (Cell/text)630.965.1965 – paperrose01@aol.com

POLO SHIRTS

07.25.23 Polo Shirts

We have had several requests for masculine cards so August Stamp Camp will help meet the demand.  The polo shirt is a basic card and we will be offering 4 polo shirt patterns.  The base, collar, button placket and pocket are all navy blue.  Only the DSP choice varies.  You can customize your shirt by die cutting small initials to put on the pocket, using colored buttons instead of white, die cutting a colored stitched pocket top.

07.25.23 Polo Shirts Golf

For the golf enthusiasts, we have 2 golf shirts from retired DSP.  Several of the shirt DSP patterns have an interesting reverse pattern that you might choose to use.  The sentiment comes from the Handsomely Suited retired stamp set and is embossed in white and punched with the Tailored Tag Punch..  The collar, button placket and pocket dies are from the retired Suit and Tie die set. Note the odd placement of the sentiment on the golf flag shirt.  There was a drop of iced tea that had escaped and landed on the card.  Rather than discard the card, the sentiment was used to cover the oops.  I had fun making a few custom cards for some birthdays – a Lego shirt for my hubby, and a circuit board shirt for son Larry.  This is not a difficult card to make.  The inside features a strip of matching DSP.

Time for a Christmas Card.  See you in a bit!

CAROUSEL

When was the last time you were at a carnival and climbed on a carousel horse?  It’s been ages for me!  I’d be afraid if I made it on the horse, I wouldn’t be able to climb off!  Then I would be riding in circles listening to carnival music all day!

07.25.23 Carousel

Instead of riding on a carousel horses, let’s make cute carousel cards with the cute Stampin’ Up Carousel Bundle.  A Balmy Blue and Parakeet Party is our fun color theme.  The carousel is 3D thanks to Stampin’ Dimensionals tucked under the carousel “umbrella.”  The horses are also elevated with foam adhesive strips tucked behind the poles.  The poles are colored with Soft Suede and Wink of Stella for a gold appearance, and Silver Wink of Stella for a silvery sheen.  There are stamps for the saddles, tails and manes – or you can color them with Stampin’ Blends.  Sparkly brads unearthed from my brad collection are perfect jewels for the carousel.  The card samples shown hear feature Parakeet Party and Gorgeous Grape horses to the left, and Poppy Parade and Polished Pink to the right.  The colors used are up to you. A banner stamp and die come with the bundle.  Sentimental Park stamps have perfectly sized stamps for the banner.

07.25.23 Carousel msg layerThe message layer is embellished with a Balmy Blue strip of our DSP and 2 balloons.  I always think of balloons and cotton candy when going to a carnival.  This is such a fun card!!!!!

So, August Stamp Camp is fast approaching – August 3, 4, and 5 – from 10am to 4pm all 3 days.  You can come for an hour or spend the day.  You can even come all 3 days!  Prices remain $3.50 per card and Cards to Go are available.  As always, I ask that you let me know which cards you would like to make, and which day(s) you plan to come.  Feel free to send me a text with your choices as I find it hard to keep up with my e-mail. And please don’t ever hesitate to ask questions or voice your opinion.
